We moved into a new DW Home in June 2022. Despite being promised that outstanding snags and repairs would be remedied within 3 months, unfortunately that wasn't the case.We have had multiple problems and although Custome r Careare all personable and pleasant, the business model, which relies on outside contractors to fix issues reported to them by Customer Care, proved inadequate.In January 2024 I spoke to the CEO, who asked Mark Cookson to visit us re our concerns.Since then, 3 great employees of DW Homes: Danny Goodier, Mark Reckless and Andy Fleming have been our saviours.Guided and instructed by Danny, who has been empathetic and totally supportive, all outstanding repairs and snags were completed whilst my husband and I were on holiday.I'd really like to give Danny, Mark and Andy 5 stars, however we can't ignore the 20 months prior, in which I had to make hundreds of phone calls to CC and on some occasions the sub contractors to chase up appointmentsthat weren't kept or poor workmanship.

Duchy provide a great sales experience but that seems to be where the good service ends. We could not fault Gabby who helped us through the buying process, however once you've purchased the property and moved in, Duchy homes have no desire to sort any major problems out what so ever, despite the site management team offering assurances that they will be on hand to fix any niggle that you may come across. The after sales customer service comprises of a lady called Linda who has no clue on any of your matters, even though Linda is the only person answering all of your calls and taking all of the information about any issue you may have. Any time you call after logging a problem, the standard response you receive is that the issue is with either the site manager or another team in Duchy. You are simply ignored. When you ask for updates, you do not get them and have to constantly hound before you get any form of acknowledgement, let alone any form of update. Their communication is the worst we have ever encountered when dealing with a company. We paid £400k for a property with a sunken garage, that early on we noticed leaks. Our garage leaks to the point where puddles form and the Duchy response is "garages are designed as a store for a car so as such are not designed to be watertight and therefore items stored could be damaged by moisture, leading to mildew and mould". Absolutely disgraceful. Apparently according to Duchy, having a river in your garage is a feature!!! After many months of trying to get remedial work carried out our complaint was escalated to Paul Moran (Head of Customer Service), who surprise surprise also fails to respond, even in accordance to their own complaints procedure. This is one example of many problems we have come across since moving in.We have been left feeling as though it is us against Duchy in getting a number of problems fixed and have simply had enough. A claim is now being made with the NHBC as we feel that Duchy are not wanting to resolve our issue to a satisfactory level, more than likely due to a costing issue. There are many other reviews that we have since read all echoing the same message that Duchy do not care once they have your money. Had we been wise enough to read reviews before purchasing our property we would have seriously thought twice about buying from Duchy. I hope others read this review and consider it when thinking about buying from Duchy.

Kay at the Jackton site very helpful and knowledgeable about the house types. Due to the development being at a very early stage - we were able to visit another development for a tour of the property we were interested in - this was facilitated by Kay and helped with the decision making process. Kay was also able to provide detailed information on the plot, garden and included options so we were fully informed throughout the process. The reservation process was very straightforward and was conducted via links sent through text messages. Looking forward to the next stage!
