TrustpilotCut backs and limitations on fittings inside
The customer service in the sales office was excellent. However a bit disappointed when it came to choosing fittings inside. Expressions not working properly. Also a very clear cut back on very basic items such as only one single sink in the kitchen and no sink in the utility room with no possibility of upgrading. Also limits on where amitico flooring can be used eg no longer available in bathrooms and downstairs toilet, even though can be in hall downstairs. Some decisions seem quite irrational.

Having never bought a new build off-plan before, it was wonderful to be kept up to date regularly on the build progress. From foundations to completion, the service received from the sales team was second to none. They were able to explain the whole process without complication and were frequently in touch with my solicitor to keep tabs on all legal matters, which ultimately helped reduce any stress I had.As my reserved plot was the first of this type of property, I was impressed by the visual tools available inside the marketing suite which made the whole buying process easier than expected. I was able to get an idea of what the inside of my new home would look like without needing to travel to another site.Overall, I'm very impressed with the quality of my new home and whilst minor snags have occurred as expected on all new builds, I can only prise both the customer service team and those on site for their professionalism for rectifying all issues quickly.

We've were one of the 1st residents to move onto this development back in June 23. This is our 1st experience of a new build and i must admit i had my reservations about buying one with all the bad press they are given. Those concerns were totally unfounded as for the 8 months we've been in our new home it as been a really good experience. There as been snags that needed to be done, but we expected that would be the case. most of them were just cosmetic are were easily and quickly dealt with. I was told that what can make the difference between a good house and a poor one is the site management team. Dave, George & Keith have all been fantastic and we really couldn't have asked for a better team. Anything they could do for you if there was a problem would we dealt with and resolved, they really are a credit to DWH.

TrustpilotThe company is a shambles- avoid like the plague
The company is a shambles. Whilst every new house comes with some sort of snag list, DWH simply wants you to give in trying to get matters resolved. You would presume going to a multi award winning developer things would be resolved in a timely manner but over 2.5 years after moving into the house they have failed to correct the snags. Issues have varied considerably (whereby over 300 issues were raised with DWH, from mould on the skirting boards (which they suggested was our fault for poor ventilation when it was the summer of 2021 which was hot and every window was open when possible due to the heat). It was later determined that the mould was caused by poor storage of the skirting boards and was a known issue, yet they insinuated this was our fault. They decided to fit the garage doors themselves whereby they were dangerous. They have finally replaced the garage doors but refuse to correct the poor finishing which their own plastic surgeon admitted the brick work needed replacement. I have had to chase them to correct all defects and they show total disregard to the homebuyer after purchase. They ignore their own guidelines as to the period in which issues will be repaired. They arrange meetings to attend the property and subsequently do not show up (without any prior notice) then suggest the head of customer service did not inform anyone else of the proposed meeting when she took a period of unexpected leave. Heating pipes are knocking quite loudly and despite being told the noise will only get worse as time goes on (by their own technician’s opinion) and having identified there was some noise but required further investigation in the winter months they are now trying to fob me off by saying this noise is standard. Having had an appalling 2.5+ years they believe a paltry sum of £500 would be reasonable compensation. Nexts steps will be court action but don’t be fooled by their glossy promos and marketing literature. I’m not the only one who has suffered - it seems to be a lot of houses on the estate. Happy to share my experience with evidence to any prospective buyer to save you from the issues we have suffered.

We have bought houses over the past 60 years and have never experienced such first class service as we have throughout the process of buying on The Duchy Meadows development. The actual build is first rate and absolutley no snags. Excellent care and guidance from the sales representative. The site manager and his whole team were very helpful in explaining the works of the house and genuinely want buyers to have the best possible experience and home.

We moved into a DWH house in December on Stonebridge Fields. As you can expect from a brand new house there's some snagging. The assistant site manager Keith Price has been absolutely fantastic in getting everything sorted. He has been hampered by weather, Christmas and unavailable tradespeople. However if it wasn't for his diligence and care Id probably have lost my mind by now. He is an absolute credit to your company.

The specification of the properties are of very high quality and the small number of issues that were identified within our home following completion were rectified efficiently.This is our first brand new home and have not been disappointed. I've had nothing short of outstanding service both before and after purchase. We bought on The Meadows in Sunderland and our home is finished to an excellent standard. The site manager is award winning and it's very clear that he runs a very tight ship. We have had minimal snagging. Way less than you might expect for a new build. We are utterly delighted with our home. And I wouldn't hesitate in recommending Dutchy to my friends and family.
