My partner and I viewed the flat we currently rent with Gill and she was extremely helpful during our viewing, especially as we are both first time renters. Gill and the rest of the Stonehouse team have been very helpful with any issues we have had since moving into our flat.

I recently enquired about letting my property out with Stonehouse and I was going in with pretty much no idea of how the process worked. Natalie set up a met to look at the flat and talk me through the process, which was very informative and quickly put my mind at ease. Natalie has been extremely pleasant and helpful throughout, and clearly very proactive which is shown in the short space of time from me first enquiring to the property now being advertised. I would strongly recommend to anyone looking for a smooth and efficient process.

Amazing experience once again. Every time I deal with Stonehouse (specifically Gill) they go above and beyond to provide me with the best service. They are so helpful and during my first tendency they were so supportive, can’t recommend them enough, really down to earth hard working individuals that I’m proud to say helped me. Gill is amazing, constantly checking on me, offering help and providing the best advice unlike other Aberdeen companies. Would recommend her to anyone out there.

I rented from Stonehouse for 3 years and didn't have any issues during my tenancy. However, at the end of my tenancy they tried to deduct an extortionate cleaning fee from my deposit. They were unable to provide a receipt or invoice for the cleaning, which I am not convinced ever occurred. An independent assessor was required to deal with the deposit dispute, after which I received the full deposit. Stonehouse lettings never responded to or acknowledged my dispute. Despite being a reliable letting agency throughout my tenancy, their behaviour in regards to my deposit was rude, unprofessional and, quite frankly, predatory. I would strongly advise prospective tenants to avoid renting from Stonehouse, as they will undoubtedly try to take advantage of you at the end of your tenancy.

Their dedication, commitment and efforts in ensuring that I find the right property of my choice is worth commending. An absolutely brilliant team. My main communication was with Gill who was a genuine super star. The team were able to assist my queries and enable me to have multiple Virtual viewings. I would recommend Stonehouse lettings to anyone trying to buy/rent/sell in the Aberdeen area. A fantastic group of friendly professionals.

Can't recommend the team at Stonehouse highly enough, they were a breath of fresh air compared to other local letting agents we reached out to. Maureen who met us to lead the viewings was first class, super friendly and extremely knowledgeable providing great advice and recommendations. We instantly felt we were in good hands. Gill who oversaw the letting side of things was also first class and extremely efficient and helpful given our short lead in time. If I could give zero stars I could. We paid for Stonehouse to look after our property and it has resulted in them recommending a tenant that seems to be in trouble with the law. Our flat was completely trashed. Every door in the property was damaged. The carpets has to be replaced. Most times you call the office you will not get the person you last spoke to because they will have left the company. If you try and contact a manager they will just ignore you. I have never been so let down by a service as I have with this one. I wouldn’t recommend anyone uses them if you value your property. All the damaged that happened to our property seemed to have happened whilst there being regular checks to the property and no one reported the extend of the damage to us. We have now just been given an admin fee invoice to pay for £120 and a £450 cleaning fee. (We had the property professionally cleaned before the tenant moved in and it was £120). I have absolutely no idea what the admin fee is for as they have been paid monthly this whole time and not done any of the things they said they would. The tenant moved out in December and we have only just got our deposit back and it’s now June. The only advice I have is to not to use this company.

A lot of room for improvement

Quite a lot of things could have been improved in my experience of moving into a DJ Alexander flat.First of all, there was a major leak from the upstairs flat into ours, which the agency knew about and failed to mention, leaving me to find an overflowing bucket in the cupboard catching the leaking water. Secondly, the flat was not clean at all when we move in. Thirdly, the boiler didn't work for the first two weeks I was there. Fourthly, the keys I was given to the downstairs front and backdoors didn't work. Fifth, there's a few other minor/moderate issues with the flat itself (loose shower rail, leaking sink, stiff doors). Sixth, the online portal they insisted on me using to fill in the inventory and log all these issues didn't work, and when I informed them of this I didn't get any replies. I have rented from them before and they were mostly quite responsive and helpful (except for one time I asked them to have our flat's *only* toilet fixed whilst we were away for 7 days and they didn't). But my most recent experience has been certainly more negative than positive, which I think is especially disappointing given we are paying such high rent.
