GoogleHouses are well built but aftercare service from point of purchase is poor. In the two years since moving to Ufford Chase we have often had to chase the customer service team for updates regarding issues. It feels like Cala look for any excuse to avoid undertaking remedial/snagging works. Fixtures that come with the property aren't the best quality, with some feeling like 'seconds'. Recent articles on staff redundancies and poor financials likely go some way to explaining the difficult nature of the customer service team, led by Richard Ryan.

Terrible and unprofessional customer service, with very unknowledgeable site managers providing misleading information. The estate charges are excessively high. Residents often leave their cars on pathways instead of driveways, making it difficult to walk safely. I do not recommend buying houses here.

We moved into our Cala home in Farnborough over 2 years ago. We love our new house and customer service responded well to a number of issues. Next to our house is a set of steps giving access to a road. They have been closed more times than they have been open. They say they have been vandalised but it is due to shoddy work - incorrect and:or out of date adhesive. They were due to be open before the festive season. Just been informed March 2025. They just cannot get anything right with these steps and just do not care about the impact upon residents. There is a monstrosity of a temporary CCTV unit taking up parking space if our neighbour and this impacts upon our parking.

Andrew Galloway, visited our home in Dervaig Wynd, Newton Mearns, to readjust a number of internal doors that had moved to due to shrinkage, Andrew was prompt, polite and extremely proficient. Not only did he (quickly) fix the doors that needed adjusting, he went around all our internal doors and subsequently fixed a number of minor issues. In short, we were delighted with Andrew’s work - he is an asset to Cala.

This is my second review here, but I truly feel the need to share an update.We’ve been in our home for three weeks now, and I can’t thank the team at Mansfield Lea enough. Jenny, Sophie, Martin, Barry, and all the workmen have been absolutely amazing. The house has been fantastic, with just a few minor issues that the team addressed immediately or have organised for it to be done in the new year given the Christmas break. Their attention to detail, professionalism, and overall approach have been nothing short of 5-star.This is our second new build purchase, with our first being from another builder, and the difference is like night and day. The experience with Cala has been exceptional, and I couldn’t have asked for better service from the on-site team.A special shout-out to Martin, who has been the face of the site team, coordinating everything seamlessly. We’re so grateful for his efforts, genuinely an outstanding team all around. If this weren’t our forever home, I wouldn’t hesitate to purchase another Cala home, especially with these guys running the show!

They are meant to be one of the better developers out there, if that is true then I'll never buy a new home again.I'm sure their building standards are good but the quality of finish is really poor and cheaply done. Scratches on every window as well as the induction hub I should have insisted were replaced rather than accepting polishing work which leaves noticeable circular marks. The site manager eventually admitted they sacked the cleaning company as they'd had similar complaints.Flooding in the bathroom which took 10 visits to resolve, flooring lifted and tiles removed.A kitchen worktop which is now becoming warped.Doors which look like they don't meet NHBC regulations due to huge gaps.Uneven floors resolved with some silicon sealing. Window drafts they've denied by using the "paper test".Porch doors leaking which they're still trying to fix but refusing to replace. Water pooling on the floors during bad weather.Cheap plastic fixtures and fittings, the shower rail recently snapped with no excessive use or force. The shower door came unseated due to faulty brackets when still under warranty but they denied it was a common problem (the residents association says otherwise). Their site managers will do the minimum at handover as otherwise it effects their bonus and targets.I should have used a professional snagging company but to be honest I didn't want the hassle which I think companies like these love. When they did send someone round they were general workmen, less specialised so the fixes weren't as professional and cheaper for them. You'd end up with a poorer finish than when you'd moved in.There's also a problem with overheating due to poor design which I will report to the NHBCAs said above, it's put me off buying a new home againEdit: You'll have seen my reply to you questioning my identity with trustpilot, any response now after sharing with the relevant team?
