7 months of hell

7 months of hell! What went wrong? It would be quicker to tell you what went right... We were sold a wet and mouldy house, on investigation the blockwork came back at 100% moisture. Our complaint has now been ongoing since September. We are currently living with 40 holes in the plaster, no skirting boards, an infestation of mites and 2 industrial dehumidifiers. We were told this would take 2/3 weeks to resolve, we are currently on week 11. We have been told we have exhausted their complaints procedures however we have had no response from the regional chair as stated in Cala's own complaints procedure. We have asked Cala why they failed to investigate our mouldy skirting boards when we raised concerns in September, only to discover 2 weeks ago that they are rotten and mouldy... they are currently greeting us with a wall of silence and no answers.. Not very 5* in my opinion.

Professional and Prompt Service.

Cala has been very professional and prompt in resolving the issues i have reported. we had a faulty kitchen extractor hood from Siemens which was then replaced completely. though it took 3-4 months to replace but they did appropriate follow up with contractors to get it done and as nice gesture they had a professional cleaner to have deep clean for kitchen. Vicky Sowden from Customer service west team did a great job in getting this done. she also helped in resolving many other issues and she is very quick and prompt in her response.

Issue with heating(Boiler)

I had an unexpected issue with my heating as the boiler turned completely off. I called Cala and they sorted fast for me, they sent the Site manager and he was absolutely a star, by the end of the day we found out that someone had turned off the switch that cuts the electricity to the boiler. Duh. I was really impressed on how Cala managed the issue, and was able to help me in such short notice.

Andrew Galloway visited our house at Florence Wynd in Ayr to remedy some joinery snagging that was required. Andy is a real professional, he didn’t just repair the things we had asked about but took time to check/adjust all doors in the house including the garage door. The very little mess he also vacuumed thoroughly. Andy explained everything that had been done and confirmed other items to be ordered. Another false promise..

After being “assured” by Cala that my previous Trust Pilot review had been passed to regional team and that the MD would be in contact with me last week, I can’t say I’m surprised that yet again Cala have failed to stick to their word and it was just another false promise. I will continue to share my ongoing battles with Cala on here and other social media platforms in hope that it makes at least one person think long and hard before purchasing a Cala home. The stress, disappointment and sadness Cala have caused us over the past 18 months will be shared, we will no longer allow Cala to make us feel as though we mustn’t speak out in case they won’t help us. Cala have completely taken away our excitement of owning our first ever home and we deserve to be heard and understood.

Geraldine in the sales office was always on hand to answer questions and show us around the show home/s...Matt, the Site Manager has been great, from showing us around our new home through to dealing with snagging and arranging for these to be promptly resolved. To be honest, all the trades that have been on site to resolve issues have been fantastic. Bellwood Oaks

Have lived on Bellwood Oaks development for over 3 years- still waiting for driveway repairs. The SUDS area which we assumed was completed was suddenly turned into something resembling a WW1 battlefield end of last year . Residents were not informed of what’s happening or what will be done & when. Tried contacting customer service & contract manager but they won’t reply to emails. Today some landscaping appeared to be starting then it all got pulled out again . Still no contact with residents. The roads have still not been repaired & are a mess. Very disappointed with a supposed 5 star builder.
