I had GEORGE FISHER Decorator and ANDREW GALLOWAY Joiner out to do some repairs to my living room cill. Andrew the Joiner installed a new cill (which was a difficult job ). Andrew did an excellent job in changing over the cill and George the Decorator did an excellent job plastering and painting the cill. It’s looks great. Both did excellent work and both are very pleasant, clean and tidy workers and a credit to the Cala West Customer Care Team.

Excellent after purchase customer service

We purchased a home through Cala Homes about a year ago. We have a few settling cracks and minor issues such as loose door handles. We reported the issues to Cala Homes Customer Care and an appointment was made to resolve the issues. Tho team from Cala - Eric and Marius - attended the appointment. Their work and professionalism was outstanding. Thank you to them and Cala for the work they performed. Greatly appreciated.

We are just about to move into our first Cala home in Glasgow once everything has been finalised and we would like to give a special mention to Vicky and her team who have been outstanding so far in their commitment and communication in helping us to seal a deal. Everything has happened so quickly after our first viewing of the Duplex only a couple of weeks ago. We have just had our IEM meeting yesterday with Vicky and the head builder and we were so impressed by Cala’s standards of workmanship and attention to detail. Worst experience ever. EVER!

We moved into our new Cala house on the 1st of April 2000. It has been April fools day every day since. Due to Covid we didn’t have a hand over and were met by windows and doors that were actually bent so badly they wouldn’t close on day one. Move ahead to 4 years later and we still have tens of outstanding fundamental build issues. Not normal snagging issues - actual build issues. We have had a leaking roof for 4 years. Every time it rains water pours down our garden room wall despite having been “fixed” on more than 10 occasions. We have had every piece of skirting removed and replaced as they were mouldy, damp treatment, every wall and ceiling made good as they simply hadn’t been finished. We have had floors lifted and replaced - Carpets replaced, a one inch high ridge in the landing floor boards required the landing floor being cut open and replaced (twice), the drive was replaced and has still sunk so there’s a permanent puddle, the patio and paving has sunk, lifted and twisted so bad that been replaced twice and still looks like a toddler threw it in one afternoon. We have missing bricks, leaking pipes….. the list is genuinely almost endless. To compound it all the level of service, support and accountability is virtually zero. So many hollow promises. When we started legal action Cala told us they would not carry out any repairs unless we stopped legal action and confirmed we would not recommence! As I write this I am watching water pour in through the roof and run down the wall into a plug socket in my children’s play room. Cala will absolutely take your premium purchase price and run as far in the opposite direction as they can! Hands down the worst purchase of my life and I’ve wasted money on some awful rubbish!Always make me smile that if I don’t provide a phone number to Cala Trust pilot will take my review down! Never fear I have - they won’t call.

I've lived in my house for 2 1/2 years and I can't fault it. Yes I've had some issues within my property that needed to be sorted, I understand that this will happen, but CALA acknowledged it and sorted it within a good time frame and I wasn't too inconvenienced. I do feel we're in a time now where people want things doing straight away without consideration of outside parties being involved and availability marrying up with each other. Most new build developers will have disgruntled customers but having owned a few new build properties with other developers, Cala is by far one of the better ones out there in terms of quality and after care.

Cala snagging and ongoing issues

Moved into our home in March 2021 still have ongoing issues with :1.Drainage at garage door letting water into garage, drain at drive too small.2. Carpets installed by Cala very poor quality and flat.3. Dips in floor in master bedroom.4. Mono block driveway random block and cuts and still dipping after several fixes.Cala respond arrange a visit then communications stop and I think they expect you are fed up chasing!Think the only option will be NHBC / legal.

We have had nothing but endless issues…

We have had nothing but endless issues in what we thought was our dream home. Missing bathroom vents that were reported at our 6 week snags and have only been addressed a couple of weeks ago (nearly two years later) meanwhile the house has stank of sewage, not great with a child and new baby. Customer care (when they bother to get back to you) couldn’t seem to organise the relevant trades without difficulty, in the end it took the site manager to sort. Customer care lose snag items or ‘wasn’t aware of that item’ despite it being emailed across. Promises of work commencing on certain dates then appear to be affronted when you chase it up a month later. The construction director offered us £500 a few months ago to go away basically, the legal letter stated they won’t admit liability for all the issues, unsure how, wasn’t me that built the house.These are the last few issues we can’t seem to get over the line. Other things like nails sticking out of our concrete floors when we got the keys we had to address ourselves as it was a safety issue with a two year old. I would recommend anyone buying from Cala to either think twice or have your solicitor draft up a retention agreement until your ‘snags’ are sorted. Horrendous experience the likes of which I’ve rarely seen working in house building myself

4 years of hassle

4 years of hassle. Wouldn't go near them ever again. Finally gave in and reported them to NHBC and started rectifying the problems ourself at our own expense. Honestly don't know how they get away with it. Had massive groundwork issues that we told them about as soon as we moved in and only rectified when the garden slipped down the hill onto the road taking our fence with it. Insulation not fitted properly, came out to modify our heating system and managed to destroy it. Wouldn't fix it even though they were at fault so we have put a new boiler in ourselves. Flooring still coming up after 4 yrs. Leaking water fittings. General standards not up to scratch but their marketing team do an excellent job fooling customers that they are the "5star builders". Only managed to get that due to forcing people to sign when they move in and not enough time for them to realise the problems. Word of advice, if you do buy a Cala house don't sign off or do the survey until you've been in for several months. They push it like mad so they can get good ratings then dump you.....

I am almost finishing 2 years in a Cala owned home and after seeing the kind of customer service they have provided through out in these last 2 years have been commendable and totally customer centric.
