Google10/10 Jack is officially the best estate agent ever ! Received an excellent service from Jack. Nothing too much trouble for him. Very knowledgeable about the property & very professional. Jack has a great communication style & we felt really looked after all the way through the process. We completed in 4 weeks 2 days from first viewing because of his first class service. Kept informed at every step, this has been smoothest & easiest purchase we’ve ever made. It’s our second purchase through Jack & Ashton’s couldn’t recommend them highly enough.

GoogleWithout Ashtons we wouldn’t of been able to move home, they valued our house higher than the other agents which gave us enough money to buy the house we wanted. The whole process was handled very professionally and we got the asking price from a cash buyer. We are delighted with the service we received from the whole Ashtons team and we are thrilled with our new house. GoogleHighly recommend the Acomb branch for a fantastic service. From the first valuation visit where Jade demonstrated compassion about our situation (a sudden bereavement) and an impressive knowledge about the area and house sales we knew we were in safe hands. The valuation hugely exceeded our expectations (and other agents valuations) but with a flexible, no contract approach that meant we could change agent whenever we chose we had nothing to lose giving them the chance to try for this price - although we fully expected to have to reduce it in the coming weeks. The admin team were amazing answering all our questions and arranging lots of viewings efficiently and professionally. To our joy the house sold for above the asking price in just over a week - we were amazed, relieved and so very grateful for the service and support we received. Thank you Jade for introducing us to Ashtons - you are a complete ambassador for your agency, thank you to Andrew for the viewings and to Janet, Hannah, Fran, Sarah and Oliver for arranging the viewings, keeping us informed and keeping everything ticking along. GoogleWe have recently viewed several houses and made offers on two houses on the market with Ashtons. The staff who have organised and done the viewings have been friendly and efficient. The problems we have experienced with this company are related to very high valuations that they make that are above and beyond what other similar properties are priced at even when taking account the fast moving market over recent months. As our house search continued, other estate agents have commented that Ashtons are well-known for over-the-top valuations. We had one offer accepted on a house on with Ashtons but ended up withdrawing partly because of the price but also because of the unhelpful and rude manner of the member of staff dealing with the sale. I wrote to managing director to give my feedback and was disappointed when the reply I eventually received was 3 lines only saying that he had looked into the matter, that the member of staff was no longer working for them and that he was ‘sorry that your experience was not to your liking.’ Fortunately we have since found a house that we like at a more reasonable price , with a more helpful estate agent.NegativeProfessionalism
As far as the pricing is concerned we are guilty as charged, we do get much higher prices than some other agents, this is because our position in the market allows us to reach all buyers and the fact that our staff are not commission based allows them to concentrate and doing the best job possible. We will always act to get our clients best price as in this case. The member of staff you refer to is no longer with us so it is impossible to comment any any personal grievance you had, apart from to say this is the only complaint we would of ever had in their time with us. I do not usually reply to reviews in such detail and will always accept if a mistake has been made.
