Zero stars not one
My sister lives in an anchor flat in Leeds. She is continually harassed and abused by other (drunken) residents. Nothing ever gets done about it despite repeated complaints. She has been there 3 years and hardly ever sees the regional manager. There is only one member of staff who obviously can only work so many hours. I feel sorry for her having to cope with drunken residents harassing people without any support. Twice now we have had to get police involved. Nobody cares. Nobody listens. Disgusting organisation.

This site is about preparing for yourβ¦
This site is about preparing for your future but it seems there's no future available for anyone using it, they have taken it all and make it difficult for anyone to use it. I'm glad I was able to find out on time and opted out immediately. Now, I invest with "Vou wallet" and I have got no issue at all, I receive my weekly payouts consistently.

Anchor have their residents and staff at the forefront of their business model.
Anchor have their residents and staff at the forefront of their business model, and that obviously includes human resources from all directions. my recent experience in having a repair rectified has been easy, speedy and user friendly (advance notice, convenient times and management follow through). Appalling overpriced service
I don't generally go looking for reviews as I am never sure how genuine they are but I was looking to find a website that would show me how much the directors had jacked up their remunerations this year ahead of the comedy that is our budget review meeting. This exercise is promoted as an opportunity to discuss the following years budget although in reality it is a tick box exercise and they ignore any points residents raise and charge what they want.I was struck by how close all the one star reviews were to our experience regarding this company who I have found absolutely appalling to deal with. Directors hide behind some firewall making them impossible to find. Their charges are incredible out of step with reality with increases by huge percentages every year and no justification ever supplied They treat tenants and leaseholders like a cash cow whilst constantly looking for ways to make living on their estates as unpleasant an experience as possible. The management fee for our small estate which receives virtually no services from head office(apart from invoicing us has increased by 24 percent in 2 years it is now almost half the annual charge . They charge for services that they don't supply and then hold onto the money they have charged in advance for up to 2 years hoping residents will forget about it. If you take all the negative points in these reviews we have experienced them all.My advice to anyone thinking of moving to an Anchor property would be to think very carefully then think again and then avoid them like the plague.

As a reliable Anchor tenant of 13 yearsβ¦
As a reliable Anchor tenant of 13 years and moving to a new location in Norfolk 3 years ago I found accessing my first floor flat by way of 2 steep stairs becoming difficult due to mobility problems. No one was interested in transfering me either downstairs or to a new location and because I am on my own flats appearing on the market are being allocated only to couples and not to single people.I was told at one stage to try Homeswap-what?after being a Hanover tenant for a goodly number of years?I object to the discriminatory attitude of Anchor and consequently left finding another flat to rent from another housing association.Anchor have no customer or tenant rapport whatsoever-so think twice if like me you are on your own.

From start to finish the Anchor staff have been superb, both during telephone conversations and in person at Granville Lodge. I received my keys today from Yinka and Julie and they could not have been kinder or more professional. Based on my own experience I would highly recommend Anchor.

Avoid. Big time. The worst company I have ever experienced.
I've lived with Anchor for over 5 years now. Been paying to access a communal WiFi every month which is too slow and not worth having. Despite my attempts to bring this to their attention I've gotten nowhere. Imagine how much this 'non profit' organisation is making financially from their residents in the UK over this issue alone. Over 1700 sites. I call it a Scam. Rip off Britain. Pensioners that are paying for a service they can't even access. Every evening, Anchor personnel get to go home to their families and stream movies, watch BBC iPlayer and perhaps have internet related hobbies. Those of us that live with Anchor don't have such luxury's. Yet, we pay for internet every month on our service charges. A service that is so slow it's impossible to do anything online.I've been fighting with them for years about this issue and nothing ever gets done. Had I known my hobbies would be put on hold for 5 years I wouldn't have accepted this flat. Leave your gadgets at the front door. You won't be needing them at Anchor. It was only when I threatened to stop paying my rent until I get decent internet that something was done. They fitted an access point near my flat. A temporary measure. The connection isn't great. Constant disconnects. High pings. Am getting used to watching the buffering circle now.πFor me, Anchor doesn't listen to it's residents. I've been so unhappy here because of the lack of entertainment options in my flat. The TV aerial plays up now and again giving the residents a pixelated picture in their flats. With poor internet, shocking telephone signals and a dodgy TV aerial what else can a resident do but sit on their hands and don't even think about having a hobby. I don't even get a good phone signal. Having to pop out to the car park just to take a phone call on numerous occasions.Don't get me started on Car Parking for residents. It's a struggle and nothing is ever done about that either. People that don't live here use the car park leaving the residents to have to find parking somewhere else and walk back to their flat.On the bright side my neighbours are lovely. Living here has not been good for my own mental health because i've been unable to live the life I've wanted to live. After five years of living here. it's ruined me. It's like living in a morgue. So if you need internet, as people do thesedays. Avoid Anchor like the plague. They are so far behind the times it's like living in the Dark Ages. Their whole system is bogged down by beaurocracy and it stops things from getting done.I even had an heated exchange with their CEO about all of this during her visit to the site. Needless to say I walked out of the meeting in disgust and said a few things I probably shouldn't have said.It shouldn't have got to that stage. But they just kept feeding me lies. My first question I asked at my interview for this flat was, 'Can I get decent internet? Of course was the reply. The sad thing is that there has been a fibre connection within one metre from the site. It's been there for about 3 to 4 years. Yet I haven't been allowed to access it.Update 04/11/2023Anyway, the latest is that we should be getting fibre soon. I've been told that many a time. Will just have to wait and see.I was given access to non secure public WiFi for about 4 weeks. Which initially was good. Now it's shocking and not worth having. Cancelled my online subscriptions as I can't stream, can't use my computers or console. Constant disconnections. Buffering. I'm now back to square one again. No sign of fibre being installed, once again. Their Project Manager is nowhere to be seen. No news on an update from anyone at Anchor. No sign of them coming to sort out this current internet problem. Perhaps they'll get rid of the strict NAT for me? God help us. I'm stuck in a studio flat and can't do any of my hobbies. I thought retirement was meant to be a pleasant time. Living with Anchor is HELL. Welcome to Anchor. The only thing your allowed to do is breathe.I had a very DARK night the other night. In tears. I have to get away from Anchor. It's not good for my well being. It seems to me that this fibre project of theirs is too difficult for them to sort out.As I've said before. Stay well clear of themDon't believe a word they say. They lie through their teeth about EVERYTHINGPerhaps I'll update again as this 'comedy of errors' plays out...If I could give them zero stars I would.

Unjustified price hikes.
I'm putting up this review on behalf of my 80 year old mother, she bought a two bed flat a few years ago which is managed by Anchor. This company may as well go out and mug the elderly for all the unnecessary price hikes, so much so my mums considering looking for a job!!. When work is done they quite often use contractors from miles away so that's costing more than using a local trades person, and Anchor I'm sure are putting their percentage on the price. Panorama or Watchdog next, this companies running a racket.

Having waited for 3 years for Anchor to correct an error on my mother's property which caused a severe mould problem in the house, they FINALLY took responsibility and admitted liability. Sent round a workman to correct the problems - botch job! Still no ventilation brick which was recommended. And guess what? Although the issue was caused by them, the residents of Ash Grove have to pay for the repairs out of their reserve fund. What a bunch of swindlers! If I could give a zero rating, I would.

My dad was in an anchor care home but was admitted to hospital. When he was ready for discharge said anchor care home phoned me to say he couldn't go back there, despite him being back to his normal. Minimal explanation given. Residents are cherry picked to reduce work load. If they sit quietly, and demand very little they are welcomed. I would never ever trust an anchor care home again!

Its a fat cat charity filling its pockets big time and this is all its interested in. There is pretty much zero customer service beyond reams of lipservice. The real blessing is, especially in this day and age, its affordbale housing now that the council have sold all the UK family silver. If you get a nice place you're good. The quesation is DO YOU FEEL LUCKY?Zero community here either. In fact I have never met such a miserable bunch of old gits in all my life which is really sad. Another failing of Anchor yet again beyond the lip service.

Not all bad
Not all bad. But not all good either... Lots of bodged repairs by contractors. Lots of return visits to "improve" those bodges.Lack of support from senior managers on ongoing issues of petty theft and damage to property. Location manager is a gem, but is fighting against "protocol" that's useless in its effectiveness.

Not all bad but..
Not all bad , but very much run for the benefit and convenience of the board at the expense of leaseholders and tenants. 50% of a typical service charge goes in management fees. Which doesn't guarantee a quick response to a repair request but does deliver a CEO salary of Β£500,000+. more details at w w w.the-big-stick.io Not a terrible place to live but the board only pretend to be customer focused.

18 Willow Glade
Having lived at 18 Willow Glade, Reigate for a year, my wife and myself compained numerous times about constant noise from the flat directly above us. Being an over 55s 1 bed property we could not understand why children upstairs were allowed to play games above our heads morning noon and night. The people ie family concerned were warned several times by anchor but the noise continued. In fact the police were called due to verbal abuse to my wife. Also the previous tenants to our flat also had the same problems. Anchor refused to take the matter further. We have no option but to vacate the property, as we are both in our late 70s we thought we would get some peace in a so called retirement property, alas Not !!!

Fiona and Kevin really are absolute treasures
I believe the Manager Fiona and her husband Kevin, who is our cleaner, are an asset to Anchor Housing. They are both such a hard working couple, always friendly, professional and confidential. There is aways a warm welcome from both of them and they go over and above to help residents. They really are absolute Treasures.Patsy Hampton-Smith Church Court, Blundell Avenue, Cleethorpes DN35 7RR

Anchor Housing provides a range of integral services that which are seen as being over an above what most would expect from others who would appear to be delivering on similar remit. Anchors commitment shows that they excel and lead, by intuitive example, where other housing bodies only struggle to follow.

If I could give a zero score I would. I have been in my Anchor flat for a year now and find morale here is very low. The problems are too many and too complex to include here, these are issues we must address with management before taking further action.

Itβs early days but so far I cannot fault anything at Timken Grange in Northants. Compared to my mumβs last residence it is far superior in terms of the comfort and cleanliness, the staff have all been very friendly, efficient and above all, spend time talking to and caring for the residents. Itβs an uplifting experience to visit mum now in such a lovely positive environment.
