Pity can’t give no stars. Location manager doesn’t help residents with anything. Asking for help is answered with ‘I can’t do /help with that. Cleaner gave two months notice but no new cleaner was appointed for two months after previous one retired. Repairs take months and are botched jobs when someone comes. There are no weekend calls to vulnerable residents to check they are ok. I could go on. Avoid this awful organisation.

I have lived in a rental flat in an Anchor scheme in London for many years,every year the rent and service charges increase.Unsurprisingly, Anchor had their charitable status taken away from them a couple of years ago .The monthly profit from this scheme is in excess of £30,000,where does all that money go every month ? certainly not on management training.Their lack of empathy and understanding about how the cost of living is affecting residents is astounding.What is the answer ? get rid of the managers,greatly reduce the rent and service charges.The neighbouring council estate pays half the rent that we do and no service charges.It works for them,why not Anchor ?

For a Company making £56m profit (Yes they are, not for profit) with 3 Directors earning £1.5m - I have never in my life come across such hypocrisy & bombastic management from central offices. Their complaint procedure is a joke & the Government departments need to take a serious look at them. This WILL turn into the next Post Office scandal - mark my words. Residents are vulnerable predominantly over 75 year olds & they are fleecing the residents for outrageous service charges without justification. My Parents live there and cannot move out quick enough -BEWARE if you are thinking of living there. In any doubt? read all these reviews & look online to see they receive over 3000 complaints every year from residents - in any doubt now???

What is the motto of Anchor Homes "Later Life is for Living", so how can a company continually increase the maintenance fee's at excessive percentages, allowing residents unable to live a life worth living, as they cannot afford to do so. Continuous misinformation given. A company that stonewalls at every corner, and resists providing information. Its another greedy company, living off the profits of those who most are unable due to illness to fight against injustice.

My mum pressed her pendant for the very first time....no one ever answered..lightening 2 weeks previously had wioed their systems out and the were unaware.my mum died. We had appalling dealing with this company. According to them they check lines daily.. obviously not . Yesterday a large fire happened right next to the flats ..speaking to a resident today who evacuated not one person had been to check on them .At the inquest they were told to improve site caretaker ...very sad to say they haven't. Shame on you anchor .. thankfully no one was hurt. We paid for a service that wasn't provided...we blame you for my mums death

To anybody who is considering moving to an Anchor property, beware. Whilst the actual apartment is very good and comfortable, the behaviour of Anchor Management is appalling for their absence and stonewalling. Our estate has been neglected for years despite various promises of "action". In spite of this, they have recently arbitrarily increased our service charges by a considerable amount. When we challenged Anchor, they have consistently stonewalled us. You would NOT get value for money. Our extortionate service charges are used to fund the establishment of new luxury estates and letting ours go to pot.

10 months after the death of one of their tenants Anchor are still harassing his elderly sister for money. Today she received SEVEN bills for random made up things that she has absolutely no liability for. We've contacted everyone we can think of to get these 'people' exposed. They need to be stopped.

Purchased a leasehold property from this company. 18 months in I discovered a leak behind my cooker. Three surveyors from Anchor - without even examining the leak gave me an incorrect and unsubstantiated diagnosis - and said it was a leaking stack pipe. To a cost to me of almost £900 (which I could ill-afford) I had to employ three plumbers to prove Anchors diagnosis was completely wrong - having in fact found a cracked underground clay pipe. To this day they have only refunded me £200 refusing to accept they gave me the wrong information. I notice there are numerous complaints about AnchorHanover and I am still thinking whether to take the matter further. They might be a charity but………

Just signed up for a property in hanover Court gateshead from the first viewing to the signing Carol the manager has been first class nothing has been a bother to her and explained everything to me fully and really put my at ease as its a daunting task moving but the flat and surroundings are fab and the peace of mind being in the hands of a very knowledgeable and caring manager

Believe this to be a fraudulent organisation, my mother was a missing person for 6 months she had her own property and a comfortable lifestyle yet was discovered dead in a hospitial and apparently been renting an anchor housing flat which was clearly inappropriate for her, this organisation have been terrible concerning trying to get to the bottom of this , its been 12 months and still no response in regards to oyr complaint, my mothers body didnt even have clothes ! And the flat at anchor housing all her possessions that she apparently had vanished , they allowed somrone who was taking advantage of her access to her & her accomadation ,any of her possessions and they never contacted the police conxerning my mother dispite she was a missing person and being targeted by a fraudster ...they have been attempting a cover up ever since ..this all led to my mothers vauge and suspicious death ..do not take this company on face value ...! Other people clearly calling them a con on other hurrendous reviews of them and i am also believing them to be a fraudulent con and i believe cobducting themselves illigally

Our Charitable organisation supplied Owl and Bird of prey activities to Hazel End Care Home, we set our our terms in email and traveled over 3.5 hours and went out of our way to help, they broke our r from day one, we have been chasing payment eversince, they promise payment which never comes.We have now decided to send a final email and hand over collection to a company and will not be sending any further reminders. we will not be offering this company any further service as we have better thing to do with my time

I have resided at carlford court (anchor housing) for a little over a year I have found the scheme managers have been the most helpful from welcoming me and sorting issues out Emma snowling and Sharon churchman have worked and still do tirelessly to make sure things run smoothly as possible they are always there to lend a helping hand they are very compassionate anchor housing have truly a wonderful team in the scheme managers I have found anchor housing a fantastic place to be with so many things to do for their residents repairs are done quickly I have found my happy place and cannot fault how anchor employ fantastic staff thank you from the bottom of my heart .

Called harrasmentMy mum was wrongly accused from excrement as head office and Disputed my mother defense her side as residents in meetings wrongly accused my mum singled her out as I recorded washing room that day I left it clean and I cleaned other residents dirty filters and kept pictures recorded everything regarding abuse threats, false allegations audios of residents talking wrongly accused my mum behind her back and verbal abuse while I recorded on my phone.My mum and I donated dvds books to library which never belongs to Granville lodge Granville drive but residents had wrongly accused my mum any d manager Adrian Henderson had wrongly accused harrassed my mum threatened her to loose her flat because of False allegations residents.Residents had screaming at my mum at my mum front door. Harrasment because we had window open and residents were talking to her cat underneath window and heard our TV the resident called Christine she harrassed mum and we had move out of there because made my mum I'll health more significant depression.We were told we can take tori assistant manager and when Adrian check camera we were wrongly accused of theft . Discrimination harrasment behaviour.Residents talk bad false allegations about my mum I recorded all evidence of this over a year , manager also done same with cleaner who now assistant manager here and harrassed discrimination false allegations they singled out lies about towards my mum.Disgusting place to live especially when my mum dad had couple strokes here because of these activities and my mum depression I'll health also heart attack as my mum had this year because of allegations regarding washing room

The Manager at Oakmead Court is excellent! Just recently my Father lost electricity at his property and she was so helpful and kind throughout whilst arranging to have it restored.She kept me updated which put my mind at rest that he was being taken care of and even making my dad cups of tea and offering him a meal and moving him into the guest room until the electricity was put back on later that evening.Thank you so much Esley you were extremely kind and supportive and went above and beyond to help dad it was very much appreciated x

My mother has recently moved to an Anchor home in St Ives, Cambs, and it has changed her life. She has a compact one bedroom flat which is just right for her. She has her independence with the peace of mind that comes with having people around her, scheme managers who check on her weekly (you can choose to have a check daily if you prefer) . There is an amazing social life, with active residents organising activities on a weekly basis. The communal parts are spotless and the beautiful grounds are well maintained. There is a communal laundry room with top end machines, a communal lounge and a TV room. For those who like gardening there is plenty of scope with a nice potting shed/greenhouse.Residents can choose how much to be involved, and some choose to keep themselves to themselves. The scheme is near the town, with lots of shops. The beautiful river is also nearby. I cannot recommend this place highly enough- I would be happy to live there myself!
