We spoke to most of the agents in Chislehurst but were instantly struck by the enthusiasm of Peter at Alan De Maid and his in-depth knowledge of the local market. Peter provided a realistic valuation (other agents valued higher) but we did not hesitate to appoint Alan De Maid. Turned out to be a great decision. Very quick and efficient to move me in, but failed to mention the property was unsecured, had no gas supply (which once turned on after a week had a £505 debt on it), a useless landlord that doesn't reply to you even in emergencies, and is infested with rats! My advice do not rent with Alan de Maid and stay away from any properties on Homesdale road.
