We both sold our house and purchased our new home in the local area with the help of David and his team at Locksbottom. We discreetly marketed our property in the first instance but this was not effective so after a few months had it advertised through Rightmove and after a few weeks a buyer was found and a price agreed . Initially communication with Alan de Maid was not as we would have expected on the sale but this did significantly improve as the sale progressed . The process became complicated because the buyer had problems with the service provided by their solicitor and they had to change solicitors . At this point David really came into his own with daily liaison with the buyer and their representatives and keeping us informed of progress . As we were downsizing and wanting to stay in our area the number of properties available that met our needs was quite limited but David and his team were able to help us find the perfect property which we were able to move into on the same day we completed our sale. Overall we have been very pleased with the support we received from David and his team and would use them again if we were moving but have no plans to do so in the near future !

Maria was our main POC and she delivered exceptional service with timely updates, a balanced view on both sides of the buyer/seller relationship and in general kept us up in the loop with everything going on. Another positive call out is to Annie who showed a number of viewers round our property and was very personable when talking with her about any updates. TOP ESTATE AGENTS!!! We literally couldn't have asked for anything more from this AMAZING TEAM!! On the initial meeting with James we were confident that he would be friendly, professional, and Alan De Maid would sell our property for a good price, and quickly. He said he would be able to help us with things that we needed, and he certainly did deliver, and went over and above stating that he is happy to help anyone who struggles, it is "what they do". (husband and I aren't good with technology and were nervous of the amount of papers we had to read and fill in), but nothing was ever too much trouble, they helped us so much EVERY STEP OF THE WAY....even after there was an offer on our house they kept in contact, chased up the rest of the chain, solicitors, and I can honestly say that I'm sure the whole chain would have fallen apart if it wasn't for their hard work, professionalism and care about us as their clients. Everything was dealt with, with confidence and such a warm reassuring mannerism. James was very quick and efficient with any questions, even if he wasn't in the office, the rest of the team were straight onto anything I needed to ask or do, James or Matt always called me back quickly. Matt I knew was the perfect person to sell the house...he has such a lovely way about him that I felt whoever put an offer in would be genuinely interested, I could tell he got buyers that would be interested in our property/area, and he was always friendly, polite, not pushy so I never worried that the sale may fall through at all. Caleb, Dario and the rest of the team always had big smile and friendly greeting. absolutely shocking company, A Woman showed up, half dressed in a short tight dress, to give the keys for a flat back in 2022 summer time, extremely unprofessional. Oliver is extremely rude on phone calls brushing off client and does not have a care in the world to follow up after promising to do so. They will do whatever it takes for the business of their Landlords that are with them, rather than helping the tenants. Disgraceful company and shocking service.

I would thoroughly recommend Alan de Maid if you are looking to sell your house. We engaged James and his team to sell our house in Chelsfield earlier this year, unfortunately the first sale via them fell through on the day of exchange, so we had to get back out quickly to source new buyers. The team sourced a new buyer within two weeks, which avoided a lot of additional heartache. James, Matt and Dario were always available to talk through the process, and managed to balance their role acting for both the buyer and seller. Where do I begin with experience myself and my husband had with Alan De Maid? Firstly they were not open with the fact the property we we about to purchase had subsidence problems, we found this out through our solicitors. When I enquired about this with our estate agent, Robin he told us that he had not known about this issue but Munsoor, the Senior Branch Manager did know. I find this hard to believe that Robin didn't know. Secondly they took advantage of the fact that we were first time buyers and used threatening tactics, such as saying we were going to lose the sale and that the buyers are going to pull out, when we were negotiating the exchange of contracts and a move in date. Something that is completely ridiculous to say. Overall they were unnecessarily pushy. I know that estate agents are always going to be on the side of the vendor however the complete disregard for us made the experience even more stressful then it needed to be. When Robin was on annual leave and Maria was dealing with our enquiries it was smoother as her advice came from experience and was understanding of our position- but alas it was only working with us for a week. I would recommend not using Alan De Maid.
