GoogleThe team at Ashtons were very professional in helping me sell our house. Communication with them all was very good especially Julie. Although they over priced the house initially, they secured the reduced asking price. Thanks very much.

Google6 months after our offer was accepted, our sale fell through. Significant legal issues with possessory title were identified which couldn't be resolved and the seller wasn't willing to negotiate. Ashtons are fully aware of the legal issues and have now relisted with no mention of them. I raised with three different colleagues that it was unfair to withhold this information. I feel sorry for future buyers.

GoogleAfter buying a few properties in the past, It can be a little bit daunting. I had never thought about buying a property in york but after popping into the bootham branch, I can honestly say that my views have been turned around! Popped in to see what was on the market and had a few questions of my own to ask about the area and I must say, Claire was extremely helpful in answering my questions in so much detail and was very helpful in showing me a few roperties that where on the market. Excellent staff and customer service !!! (Thanks Claire for your all your help!)

GoogleWithout Ashtons we wouldn’t of been able to move home, they valued our house higher than the other agents which gave us enough money to buy the house we wanted. The whole process was handled very professionally and we got the asking price from a cash buyer. We are delighted with the service we received from the whole Ashtons team and we are thrilled with our new house. It really worked well for us, thank you; we will strongly recommend Ashtons to all our friends.

With particular reference to Jade Sainty, Sales Progression Coordinator, the sale went through in 5 weeks, smoothly, without hiccup, with a constant attention to high quality customer care and excellent channels of communication. I would not hesitate to recommend them and will certainly use them if my need to move arises in the future. Thank you Ashton's... and Jade... a first class service.

GoogleI have been very happy with the service provided during the sale process relating to 74 South Bank Avenue York. Communication was mainly via Julie and she was always prompt in providing updated positions by speaking or communicating with the buyer or her solicitor. GoogleWe have recently viewed several houses and made offers on two houses on the market with Ashtons. The staff who have organised and done the viewings have been friendly and efficient. The problems we have experienced with this company are related to very high valuations that they make that are above and beyond what other similar properties are priced at even when taking account the fast moving market over recent months. As our house search continued, other estate agents have commented that Ashtons are well-known for over-the-top valuations. We had one offer accepted on a house on with Ashtons but ended up withdrawing partly because of the price but also because of the unhelpful and rude manner of the member of staff dealing with the sale. I wrote to managing director to give my feedback and was disappointed when the reply I eventually received was 3 lines only saying that he had looked into the matter, that the member of staff was no longer working for them and that he was ‘sorry that your experience was not to your liking.’ Fortunately we have since found a house that we like at a more reasonable price , with a more helpful estate agent.NegativeProfessionalism
As far as the pricing is concerned we are guilty as charged, we do get much higher prices than some other agents, this is because our position in the market allows us to reach all buyers and the fact that our staff are not commission based allows them to concentrate and doing the best job possible. We will always act to get our clients best price as in this case. The member of staff you refer to is no longer with us so it is impossible to comment any any personal grievance you had, apart from to say this is the only complaint we would of ever had in their time with us. I do not usually reply to reviews in such detail and will always accept if a mistake has been made.

GoogleWe were dealing with Julie m. Seems like she didn't take us seriously at all.very rude and was extremely hard to get in contact with. Would hardly get back to us. We had a mortgage sorted checks all done but had to pull out of the house due to rot and the valuation being 30k less then the asking price Julie wouldn't even ask the seller if he would take a lower payment all she said was we have a cash buyer ready anyway! It feels like we were just shoved to the side because we wernt willing to pay 30k more then the house was valued at, valuator said the seller has to sort rotting floor before he sells it but is unwilling to do this. I wouldn't even give ashtons 1 star if I didn't have to all because of Julie's attitude towards usNegativeResponsiveness, Quality, Professionalism, Value

The agent not only follows up and asks about our situation, answers our questions, but also introduces a professional team of surveyors and lawyers, which makes our property handover very smooth. It is worth recommending them.
