Our dedicated contractors and those elected by the landlord have had difficulties in obtaining access to your property. Consequently, this has prevented us from carrying out any remedial works. Grisdales have offered to release you from the tenancy and contractual agreements with immediate effect but have yet to receive a response. As we haven’t been able to reach you via email for some time, we have put together a written letter which should arrive within the next day or two. FacebookI have used Grisdales as letting agents now for 8 years. We have completed 5-6 tenant swaps in our property and they have always been on point. Our property has never been empty for more than a month and there communication has always been spot on. Highly recommend *****

GoogleTo echo most of the negative reviews on here I found Grisdales rude, unwilling to communicate and frankly just a lazy bunch of people hiding behind the 'Global Pandemic' by not allowing viewings, even though the property market hasn't been locked down as protocols are in place. Acting in neither the landlords interest or the clients, just their own. Underpinned by the 5 star rating Lesley Kenyon (Lettings Manager) has given herself further down this review page, says it all really. I have reported this to Google as conflict of interest. GoogleWe wanted to rent a place, we were fobbed off with “viewing not available at the moment” despite their online add saying it was. I was told “we’ll put you on the list” and wasn’t even advised to apply. I received pretty much no correspondence and what we did get seemed blunt and rude, couldn’t get through on the phone either. We weren’t even told the house was taken off after we sent an application. We rented elsewhere and paid 12 months rent in advance. The landlord of the property we applied for here really missed out but they probably don’t know about it. If I had a property to let, I wouldn’t come to Grisedales in Whitehaven.

Awful experience with this company. They do almost nothing for you and give you hell when you leave the property no matter what condition it has been left in. The house was filthy, poorly decorated, had a major woodlouse problem that we weren't aware of until we moved in when when our tenancy began, when we left it was clean and tastefully decorated which we'd been given permission to do but we still received a ride and scathing email once we'd moved regarding the condition of the property. Even things that were an issue before we moved in!

GoogleWe had no problem with Grisdales and finding buyers. The problem is the due process of the potential buyer employing a surveyor. I think it would be advisable for sellers to be aware of the influence of the surveyor’s report on finalising any sales.

Rented a flat managed by Grisdales and two occasions they gave an external company keys to check to our flat to check the fire extinguisher without notice or our permission and ok both occasions men walked into our flat whilst I was alseep after a night shift... bery scary. When I phoned Grisdales to explain theresleves they lied and said they had not handed the keys out however the man was standing in my livingroom with the keys they had been given only half an our earlier!

FacebookI have been extremely disappointed with service, ie no updates, advice taken to reduce price based on Grisdales telling me they had people looking within the reduced price range. I felt that I had to constantly ask for feedback on viewings and I saw nothing of them actually trying to close a deal. I even took the step of conducting the viewings myself as I didn’t believe the house was being ‘sold’ during them. When I mentioned my concerns, they denied all of my experiences and basically told me how good they are. They said it that much I think they actually believe it. Time to hold the mirror up guys and take a good hard look at what you are doing. In response to this review I expect they will (again) imply that I am exaggerating and go on to tell everyone that they win awards. I suspect they put more effort into winning nonsense awards than they do selling houses. Bizarrely since I told them I was leaving them I have had immediate interest in my house. Now why is that? Perhaps they can answer that question

GoogleFor future tenants and landlords using their services - please DON'T! I'm limited for space for this review and have had to re-write this to be less problem specific. Just for the record, I don't normally leave negative reviews, I'm a human being and realise that mistakes occur HOWEVER.... This business lies and cheats its way through their everyday business, will try every trick in the book to rob you of your deposit and make ridiculous, demands. They will not contact the landlord on your behalf if you have questions. Using this so called estate agent is the same as holding your breath, waiting for a grenade to explode and hoping all the dust settles in a nice neat little pile by your feet. I have plenty of substantive examples I can use but just don't have the room on here. Honestly, there are plenty of other service providers out there, if you are thinking how bad they can be in comparison I would give Grisedales a rating of -5 out of 10.

Tried to arrange a viewing , didnt even call me back when they said they would , eventually got through to them after trying for hours , to be told no more viewings as asking price was met , i offered to pay more they said no . In my opinion they couldnt be bothered , so obviously not interested in getting the best price for their client.

GoogleUnnecessarily bureaucratic and will do everything in their power to get every penny from you. Very poor service; as we were moving out, Grisdales organised viewings to which they would regularly turn up 30 mins late with no reasoning as to why. Upon returning deposit they've deducted close to £100 despite a very clean house. It has then taken over a month for them to approve the deposit refund which is ridiculous. Overall poor service.
