I recently embarked on the journey of finding my dream property, and it led me to Cala Homes. The experience I had with this company, particularly with the assistance of Abigail, was truly exceptional.I encountered a few challenges on the way, primarily related to my mortgage and the need to sell my existing property to make my dream home a reality. Given the state of the market, selling my property in a short amount of time was proving to be a significant challenge. In my desperation, I reached out to Cala Homes, hoping that they might consider my property for part exchange.To my disappointment, Abigail from Cala Homes informed me that my property couldn't be considered for part exchange, as the property I desired to purchase was itself a part-exchanged property. However, her response went far beyond just a mere rejection. She assured me that Cala Homes was committed to making people happy, not just selling homes, and she vowed to do everything in her power to assist me.True to her word, Abigail demonstrated unwavering dedication to my cause. She assured me that as long as I was making progress on my end, they would prioritize my offer over any others that might come their way. Remarkably, Cala Homes remained true to this promise throughout the entire process. Even when other estate agents presented more favorable offers, Cala Homes stood by my side and patiently waited for me to secure my mortgage.Throughout the journey, Abigail's support and attentiveness were truly remarkable. Her commitment to my selling progress and her determination to make me a happy homeowner were evident in every interaction we had. She went above and beyond, ensuring that my dream home would become a reality, despite the challenges we encountered.In conclusion, my experience with Cala Homes and, in particular, Abigail, was a testament to their unwavering dedication to customer satisfaction. When we first moved in, the cala customer service left a lot to be desired. We raised snagging issues and wouldn't hear back for weeks or months, people would turn up at our house to fix things with no notice, and the repairs that did happen often needed multiple repeat visits.I have to say that since Vicky Sowden took over our snagging account, we couldn't be happier, things are fixed promptly, we get lots of updates and wrte very happy with the service we've been receiving

Sales process Horsham

For now, I can only comment on the sales process as we are yet to move into our property (7days to go!!!)From the moment we arrived at the Cala site in Horsham we were warmly welcomed by Suzie and given all the information we were initially looking for and shown a couple of show homes which we loved! We were not pressured at all and went away to think about how we were going to proceed (buy new or older build).We decided to return once more to look at show homes and around the development with some family members. This time we met with Katie and my word she really was wonderful (and this is still true today) showing us around and answering all of our questions. We noticed a house type that there was no show home for unfortunately nor was one available, but there was something that felt like this could be our home. Fast forward a bit we were told a plot had become available and we reserved it soon after! The fun began after that when we got to choose our interior options which we have now seen completed and love. I’d also like to mention that we have met with the senior site manager Joe on two occasions and he was brilliant both times, making sure we were well informed and that our property was going to be in the best condition for handover.I’ll be back somewhere down the line to review the next stage of our journey.

I have just moved into my new home at New Monks Park ,Lancing and I have received excellent customer service from the Cala Team starting from day one visiting the site with Georgina from the sales team to handover of my new home with Tracey from sales and Bobby from the construction team . The journey from reservation via Cala Part Exchange to completion has been smooth,most informative and helpful .On moving into my Dinford new home, both Bobby and Joe from the construction team have regularly checked everything is ok and always most helpful ! My experience with the Cala team has been first class .

Appalling customer service

Once you have brought the property and handed over from site to the customer service team it goes rapidly down hill. The customer service manager is the most arrogant and rudest person I have ever encountered. He has no customer service skills and tells you you are lying about problems with the house, even when you show him. It got to the point where I had to contact the MD in order to get issues rectified. I put a formal complaint in and have not once received an apology from the customer service manager. There have been a few issues with the house, most easily rectified but the heating is not. The house doesn’t stay warm and they don’t seem to see it as an issue. Considering it’s a new build with A rated efficiency it certainly does not meet that standard. After lots of emails and phone calls they finally (after almost 2 years!) decided to look into the issue with the heating, after being fobbed off for so long.

***********IMPORTANT…….This review is nothing to do with Cala as a whole…..they would get 2 star max…..shockingly poor service with false promises, blatant lies and sub standard work which is still ongoing after 27 months. NEVER a 5 star builder*******The state they have left the common grounds on too is shocking to the point kids and getting seriously hurt by them not repairing broken drains etc which they have know about for moths…….”we have your money so we don’t care” attitude. However, I was asked by Cala to give a review on the joiner Andy Galloway. First class, nothing is an issue for him, goes over and above and is one reasons I have any positive mindset when it comes to Cala!! He is a real asset to them.

All of the members were helpful, kind and supportive along the whole journey of moving house. From reserving the property, to printing paperwork and dropping off gifts on moving day. We purchased a home through Cala Homes about a year ago. We have a few settling cracks and minor issues such as loose door handles. We reported the issues to Cala Homes Customer Care and an appointment was made to resolve the issues. Tho team from Cala - Eric and Marius - attended the appointment. Dreadful after sales experience

We bought a Cala home in Edinburgh in March 2021. Sales team were excellent, but unfortunately our experience thereafter has been far from satisfactory. We have been complaining about windows that are not fit for purpose in our property since we first took possession . Cala agree the windows are substandard but after eighteen months of poor communication from their Customer Services and broken promises we are still waiting for any action to remedy the issue. We are so disappointed and we’ve lost all trust in this builder. We will certainly never buy from Cala again.

So far so great!

From our first visit to Cala at Wintringham Park to our second one to reserving our plot and working through the stages leading to buying it, which we are still in the midst of now, M and R (alphabetically, because they have both been equally important to our journey) have been extremely welcoming, personable, professional, knowledgeable, and helpful. Buying a new place is undoubtedly a privilege! Still, it has its stresses. Having such a great team in place to go back to for support has been essential to making this journey less stressful on us as a couple. M even helped me peruse hospitals in the region, as I need to move my treatment from my current one in London to one that's nearer the new residence! And R has been a well of patience (you've seen how much I write, you can only imagine how much I talk!). As we move through our journey, I will be back for a review of the home we've decided on.
