Undoubtedly the worst customer service…

Undoubtedly the worst customer service I have ever received (after sales care). Cala were great up until the point of signing over to “customer service” which is quite clearly a gimmick because they simply do not care. I have spent over ONE YEAR going back and fourth with Cala over several things, it took them 10 months to fit a piece of glass above my front door even though it was promised to be done 2 days after we completed on the property, 3 times they ordered and tried to install a piece of glass that was the wrong size - in the end we gave them the correct dimensions for them to order. The past 14 months I have been trying to come to a resolution with Cala for my garden, which Cala very kindly included a free pond on the patio!! Cala admitted the garden patio was their mess up as there is insufficient drainage and the slabs are laid incorrectly which results in 5cms of water pooling on the patio and up against my house and patio doors. Cala promised a resolution to our issues providing we give them outstanding feedback on their survey which we did but have now gone back on their word and will not complete the promised work. So do not believe their rating they so heavily rely on, as it will all be based on bribery. I would love to know how many Cala employees have purchase a Cala home after seeing the quality of the homes… I have sent numerous complaint emails to CEO’s which just get passed back down the chain to the “customer service” team, quite frankly I think a bunch of monkeys could handle my complaint better than these lot. Do not make the mistake we did and waste your time and hard earned money on a Cala home.

Martin and Ryan at Cala -Wintringham…

Martin and Ryan at Cala -Wintringham are assets to Cala. Where we've had teething problems here and snags there they have moved heaven and earth to get things resolved for us. Whether it's pushing for completion with solicitors and mortgage lenders to more trivial stuff like ensuring that snags in the house are sorted no task is too big or too small. I dread to think what we'd have done without them. They're absolutely fantastic and I know I've already said it but they're absolutely brilliant and such assets to Cala.

Our second home with Cala

This is our second home with Cala. We have had a great experience with Cala. From the time we first emailed them to see a show home to completing the purchase, we had no complains or a negative response from them. Geraldine who looked after the sale was one of the primary reasons our experience was so good. She was very very accommodative in showing us the house multiple times. She did show us options and we decided on one. Our after sale and moving in experience was elevated because of the Site Manager - Mathew Russell. We have never seen another wonderful human being who is so helpful. We are so glad that we got to meet this wonderful team and a builder such as Cala. We have lived in a Cala property before this for 7 years and now with a Cala again and will be with Cala for our next as well. The build quality is so good. My dad who is a civil engineer and from a construction business looked at the quality and said the materials used and structurally it is really really good. Thank you Cala and team for making our experience so memorable.

We are underway with the process of purchasing a house within the development, and the sales team (Jenny, Nicola and Pam) have been absolutely great.They have all been friendly, attentive & quick to respond. Each have really put us at ease and made the complicated process so much easier.They have given prompt responses to any & all questions we have had and also kept us up to date with progress on the build thus far. All of which is really appreciated. Overall, we have had a very positive experience working with them and are excited to move into our new home soon come June/ July 😊👌

First class experience and service - Princes Quay

First class experience and service. Astrid and Jess in the sales team are lovely to deal with and are incredibly professional. The house buying process can be a very trying time however the Cala team have genuinely made the whole experience as smooth and as stress free as possible throughout. Having people who are professional, experienced and passionate about their job really does make the difference and I can honestly say that I am most impressed by the dedication and service provided by the Cala team.

Garden slabs repairs and new installation

We had some issues with the patio and path slabs. We were delighted with WUG Paving who were sent to fix the issue and they were fantastic. They laid the slabs perfectly flat and nothing was a problem to the helpful tradesmen. If you have a slab issue or need new slabs/monoblock, call WUG. First class service and a first class finish.

Gilchrist Gardens, Erskine

We are currently in the process of purchasing a house at this development, and the sales team (Emma, Lizzi and Fraz) have really impressed us with their knowledge about the development and our individual house style. They have given prompt responses to any queries we have had and kept us up to date with progress on the build including photos and videos which were really appreciated. It was also very helpful to be provided with tile and worktop samples to assist us in choosing flooring for our new home. Furthermore,we were also very impressed with the level of detail given to us by the site manager Pat during the IGM relating to our plot and the development as a whole. Our current property was also built by Cala and we were very keen to buy another as the standard specification and build quality is far superior to any of the other housebuilders. Overall, we have had a very positive experience so far and are very much looking forward to moving into our new home soon.

Anthony Walker and Chloe Boss are by far the best agents I have ever dealt with. They are extremely helpful and their communication is excellent. Great after sales service on snaggs

Have had great service with the snagging have had a few visits from there customer service Operative. The most recent was from Kyle who did a superb job repainting the front door frame that was prepared before painting when originally built, he sanded back the whole frame to bare wood, primed,undercoated and final coat now looks wonderful. Masked glass and cleaned up thoroughly when the job was complete, excellent service all round.

Shocking Aftercare

Once Cala have your money, the service drops and you'll just get continually fobbed off. We are still left with issues to communal areas (dead trees, rotting fences around childrens play areas amongst other things) some 4 years after we purchased our property. Cala refuse to acknowledge or do anything about it. The Estate and the people that live here will end up footing the bill for these things to be put right through the general Estate Management Fees - it's the same story on other Cala Estates wherever you go. SHAME ON YOU CALA!! 03-02-24 Response following Cala Reply - thank you for confirming the issues with external communal areas are being dealt with by Cala and the Management Company. Could you please confirm whether these are being dealt with at Cala’s cost? Or whether it is intended to add these costs to the Service Charge for residents to pick up?

Cala snagging and ongoing issues

Moved into our home in March 2021 still have ongoing issues with :1.Drainage at garage door letting water into garage, drain at drive too small.2. Carpets installed by Cala very poor quality and flat.3. Dips in floor in master bedroom.4. Mono block driveway random block and cuts and still dipping after several fixes.Cala respond arrange a visit then communications stop and I think they expect you are fed up chasing!Think the only option will be NHBC / legal.

I got a house built by Cala in Hitchin and as it's a new build it came with a few snags and issues here and there, as quite a few people came over to help fixing these, Tomasz stood out with professionalism and attention to details. 5 stars only for Tomasz and Cristi the site supervisor as they've been very helpful, if it wasn't for them, this would have been a 3 star.
