A smooth and painless experience

The CALA sales team were fantastic from start to finish and they really did everything they could to accommodate my requests. One thing I found incredibly refreshing was the way they approached the sale/reservation - they weren’t pressuring whatsoever and gave me time to make decisions without feeling under pressure to buy. During the process of the build they provided regular personalised video updates on the build and were always very diligent if they found any issues. The sales team were also very helpful with any financial/solicitor chasing.. in terms of the house - I love it so far!

Rough casting repair to 2/3rds of house side wall. The guys from the contractor, were very pleasant, hard-working and professional at all times. The work was completed to an extremely high standard, with the minimum of hassle and intrusion. Claire from Cala was very efficient at coordinating the work, nothing was too much trouble re keeping us informed about what was happening, or answering any questions we had, and unusually she actually rang back to ensure the work was completed to our satisfaction at each stage. Overall a very good experience, and levels of expectation exceeded thank you.

Aggressive sales

From the start of viewing and after purchase, I find the sales reaction is based on their interest and agenda. On the day of the viewing, they didn't give us sufficient time to view it and left us with the keys because she had an appointment. When we returned the keys to the sales, we expressed our interest, she suddenly had the time to explain more to provide further information.During the process, we received daily calls and emails for follow-up (aggressively), even after our solicitor contacted them which got us upset. Another example is that we were asking about the follow-up work and sales asked us not to copy them in the email. Overall, the sales lacks consideration, human touch and work only based on their agenda, interest and what is on their checklist.

We’ve been dealing with Fraz and Lynsey at the Erskine development for the past few weeks whilst searching for our new home and they’ve been absolutely wonderful. Always extremely welcoming despite the absurd amount of times we’ve turned up to pester them with mountains of questions, and always happy to answer our calls when we need advice, couldn’t have asked for friendlier sales reps. I am glad to buy a house in Cala Homes by Southbank development. The quality of the house is amazing and the throughout journey towards the buying process with Cala Homes sales personal is very wonderful. I would like to extend my thanks to Ms. Liza Watt, who handled from Cala Homes sales point of view and she is very much helpful and professional. Also, I would like to thanks the site manager team Mr. Neil and Mr. Ben, who was very professional and supportive in terms of first 14 days snag clearance to my house.Only one thing in the house which could not fulfill my expectations that however the house made for Disabled compatible, but if you have any disabled family member, who can not take the stairs to use main bathroom upstairs, for them there is no provision to change the downstairs WC into wet room or shower room.

Avoid Cala homes

regret to say that my experience with Cala Homes has been extremely disappointing. Despite numerous attempts to address ongoing issues with my new home, the builder has consistently failed to take meaningful action on major and important issues. It's been months of frustration, with promises of fixes that never materialized or excuses that a third party is responsible for the faults, particularly the faulty toilets. Buying a home should be a positive experience, but dealing with Cala Homes has been a nightmare. I strongly advise against choosing them for your home.------------------------------------------------------------------Reply to feedback from Cala: No meeting has been booked with me!!!. This is NOT trueUpdate:If there is a fault, you must be proactive and address it rather than waiting for NHBC to intervene after seven months, especially when you know there is an issue with the supply and provider of toilets for many homes. What are you waiting for? You know there is a fault but you want someone else to accept the cost of repair/change. Your customer service is the worst I have ever experienced and is no longer welcome in my home. They have been Mute for weeks.I was informed by Cala 2-3 months ago that you had a meeting with the toilet supplier and would update me by mid-May. Yet, here we are, with no updates. It feels like you're trying to exhaust people into giving up on chasing these faults. I really don't understand why organizations like the FCA or Ombudsman don't push you to be more responsible.

Exceptional Post-Purchase Customer Service and Maintenance by Cala

My experience purchasing a home from Cala has been outstanding. I bought my home in February 2023 (Maidenhill, Glasgow), and it has surpassed my expectations in terms of build quality and the materials used. After moving in, I had an independent consultant prepare a snag list and reported it to Cala. They were prompt and efficient in addressing these issues. Now, 1.5 years later, I reported a few minor issues typical of settlement, such as cracks and paint jobs. Claire from Cala’s customer service team responded quickly and scheduled the necessary repairs. Cala has been very accommodating with genuine issues, involving various service providers to address concerns. I especially appreciate Neal Young, who handled the paint job and fixed the cracks. Neal’s professionalism, attention to detail, and willingness to address any additional concerns were exceptional. I am very pleased with his work.

Roman Park Tring Poor Build Quality & Unwanted Supermarket

We're selling our Cala Home, Roman Park in Tring and no longer live there due to the super poor build quality. My wife got soo stressed at the total lack of sound proofing between the internal walls and floor. There is literally zero privacy and having to tip toe around after the little ones have gone to bed is ridiculous. The sound proofing between the houses is awful also. Should I really be able to hear the neighbours walking around and even their little one crying between the terraced walls!If I go into the loft I can see into both my neighbours loft space and the so called wall in the loft is just timber and plasterboard. Another issue is the supermarket planning permission on the land supposedly intended for other use. I'm now (well, we don't live there but the poor soles that buy the house) going to be walking out of my front door and immediately seeing a supermarket. Not to mention all the extra cars, noise, trucks, mess, late night park ups in the 105 space car park! Nightmare. One house on my street already sold. 3 others up for sale. Says it all.If Cala did money back guarantees...
