My experience with Bridgfords Lettingβ¦
My experience with Bridgfords Letting Agents in Newcastle was nothing short of disappointing. As a landlord, I expect a certain level of service and professionalism, none of which were demonstrated by Bridgfords Newcastle branch. I would strongly advise against using their services and will be seeking alternatives for my property management needs in the future.

Bridgfords Halifax were excellent
Sarah Broadbent was our contact person and she was excellent from the start. We viewed the property online but Sarah ensured that we had a good look at the property although it was virtually, she explained/answered many of our queries as this area was new for us. Communication was great and Sarah ensured we had all the information before we moved to the property and she was present to hand us the key at the property. She made us feel welcomed to the area and the property and this will remain with us forever. We are very happy with the property, there was a little problem with the bathroom door, it was fixed within days. No other issues have been reported, but I believe they will take good care of it if any issue arises. I will strongly recommend Bridgfords and thanks to Sarah.

WHY CANT WE AWARD A ZERO STAR?!
Unfortunately, there is no option for "no stars" or they would get it. Bridgfords Letting Agents, Whitworth St, they let me an apartment, allowed me to move in, wires sticking out of the fuse box, broken smoke alarm, no running water, they say its not their job to check the flat had services in situ. They refuse to say they have done anything wrong, and tell me, its legal what they have done. In their advert, they failed to tell me that the apartment is in a block, with specialist fire measures! Then my balcony door broke, I'm on the 13th floor and they left it stuck open for 6 weeks with driven wind and snow at one point! they sent a painter and decorator to try and fix it, who didn't have a clue, and broke it further with his plyers and a screwdriver. Then there was the bathroom, they sent a "plumber" out to fix a broken shower, who announced he had to "demolish" the bathroom to fix it. I had to stop him, and call the Landlord before he did any more damage. A proper Plumber was called and it was a faulty valve, which was replaced in 20 minutes.Just as we thought we had scraped the bottom of the barrel with their "talents" last night, they appear to have let themselves into my apartment (without my consent or knowledge) unmade my bed, moved my personal belongings and disposed of my bed. Now, I have to have the morning off work AGAIN to go and see what's gone on. In my opinion, they are an absolute disgrace and shouldn't be trusted with anyone's property.

BRIDGFORDS MACCLESFIELD Never experienced such a horribleβ¦
Never experienced such a horrible arrogant man as James Dodd in Bridgfords Macclesfield..his customer service is appalling..I viewed a house in March that had a huge structural flaw so I pulled out before anything official was done..James Dodd was so nasty to me..my son 9 months on decided he would buy it with advice from a builder about how to rectify it..James immediately asked him if he was related to me..my son put the highest offer in yet James actually talked the seller into taking a lower offer and so rudely told my son it was transparent heβd try and lower the offer further down the line! Who on earth does he think he is to do this and lie to the seller ?? And make assumptions about my son..his manner is truly dreadful and I will be taking this to the ombudsman..avoid at all costs..this guy is on a huge power trip!!

Being a neighbour of Bridgfords ofβ¦
Being a neighbour of Bridgfords of Bamber Bridge/Preston. I personally would not recommend using them. The House was rented out to tenants with dangerous dogs and smokers of cannabis . The owner stipulated no dogs and no smoking. I have been forced to vacate my house due to the stench of cannabis in my home . This was hours of cannabis smoking not just a one off occasion . Some days 12 hours of the pungent stench in my home . A home which I worked hard to pay for . Bridgfords ignore this and allow these tenants to remain even though police have confiscated cannabis next door and had evidence of the stench .The tenants have started to harass me on a daily basis with threats of getting me sometime soon. They are in breach of contract and the agents , the misuse of drugs act 1971. it is easy for their property managers to look the other way whilst taking a full management fee. I was going to use Bridgfords to let my property but looking at the deterioration of my neighbours home and their choice of tenants , I will definitely go elsewhere. Is it perhaps only this branch?

Appalling Behaviour/Service
Our experience with an agent at our local Bridgfords has been utterly awful. They have behaved appallingly and their βsalesβ tactics could be described as bullying. They have used a form of emotional blackmail by using a property (That was Managed by them) we had expressed an interest in as a carrot so that they could sell our house for us. We knew this would be a conflict of interest but they have shown they are so desperate that they would stoop so low to actually try and bend ethics and morality. Would never ever use this company!!

Uninterested
As a property management company, Bridgfords provides an pretty poor service overall. In fairness, my experience is based on only having one property manager for the Schoolhouse in Manchester - Rebecca. More often than not (including in pre-pandemic times), chasing for a response is necessary. There is a lack of interest in important concerns at the property. The overall impression is that more time and energy is spent on higher value rentals, which are deemed to be more worthy of the time. I guess it's not the work which brings in the commission...

Avoid at all costs
Selling a property in York following the death of my mother. Bridgfords were a very slick sell to my sister but the reality was far different. House was hugely overvalued and as a result the 'great deal' fixed fee we agreed to was higher in the end than the normal percentage fee would have been on the selling price eventually achieved. This may seem a bit minor but the difference was Β£59K on a Β£211k sale so nearly 28%. The agent dealing with the sale and who did the initial valuation just disappeared and we got no explanation from the branch. The branch manager then visited and revalued the house to Β£220K admitting it was way overpriced. This was always going to be a project house for someone but my sister and I are not property experts so we took him at his word. Papers left in the house went missing (whilst Bridgfords had keys and were doing viewings) resulting in some additional costs to us and the house was taken off sale without our approval due to their delay in arranging an EPC. In addition invasive surveys were made without our approval - holes in the walls, ceilings and floors!!We did sell in the end and complained to Bridgfords about the process and costs but they refuse to accept any responsibility and as my sister and I want this done rather than dragging on we decided to move on. We didn't pay the bill at first as we were in dispute but having had the brush off denial response I have now agreed to pay in full as we want the matter closed - ironically I have now called three times and have been unable to pay them the money..... They are at best incompetent but I take the view that their conduct is intentional.

Bridgfords York
Bridgfords YorkItβs an important decision to take when you decide to rent or buy a new home. Lots of money is involved, expert and thoughtful assistance is a necessary part of the process. That is what agents are for.Youβll have plenty of choice, so avoid this bunch like the Covid virus. There is a lady, Victoria North, who is so far ahead of the rest of the bunch that she would be an asset to any agency, a real professional who deserves to be singled out for praise, and young Kristian is a man who is far too good to be working there. The rest, at least those that I encountered are hardly worth commenting on, save to say that problems invariably begin at the top and the Manager is Pia Mason. The problems simply mirror those that the other posters here refer to. As I say you have plenty of choice, take your time, I have been both landlord and tenant in UK and abroad, youβll work hard to find a less concerned and less efficient bunch than this no matter which side of the business you are on.

If only there was 0 rating I could give
If only there was 0 rating I could give. Worst experience with a letting agent ever, they have been withholding my daughters deposit for nearly 4 weeks now claiming work is being completed on the flat after her and her flat mate vacated on the 15th November 2024. When we went to finalise the cleaning on the weekend of the 15th Nov, there were clearly painters in decorating where the leak in the living room was (leaking for most of the tenancy) and a few spots in the bedrooms, I have pictures ofthe whole flat on vacating as proof. However, despite holding her deposit to this date the flat has already been readvertised on the 24th November ready to move into 9 days after she moved out because it is fit for tenancy, as we had left it! ! It is now the 11th Dec and we are still being fobbed off with excuses as to why they are not returning her deposit! Cleaning carpets apparently now!! We left the flat cleaner than when she first moved in and I have already cleaned the carpets. I have sent a complaint to their head office / parent comany, Countryside Residential Ltd and will be following it up by reporting them to their ombudsman! If anyone needs to know who the ombudsman is, it is 'The Property Ombudsman'. I sincerely wish I had read their terrible reviews before she rented the flat. Avoid Bridgefords at all cost!

Very professional experience and a friendly team!
Amazing experience from start to finish - special shout out to Jack at the Stafford branch who helped us chase all elements of our chain to ensure we completed as fast as possible. Very professional experience and a friendly team! We also received a very nice welcome pack when we collected our keys, which was a lovely touch.

Bridgfords Chorlton
Bridgfords Chorlton provided fantastic service from start to finish. John and Muneer were always on the end of the phone and email. Response to any queries was always dealt with promptly and efficiently. More importantly was the way they managed things when our dad sadly died during the sale process. They were caring and compassionate and still continued to support us through to a successful sale. We really cannot thank them enough.

Finally received my compensation from Bridgefords as a landlord as I had to take them to The Property Ombudsman for such poor service managing two residential lets. The mistakes they made have cost me thousands - let alone the time needed to deal with the ramifications. Please - if you value your mental heath and your tenants - choose another agent.
Hi Andrea, I am sorry to read your experience, however, I am pleased to note that you were able to get the matter resolved after following our complaint process and involving The Property Ombudsman, with whom we are a proud member of their redress scheme. Kind regards, Scott @ Customer Care

Bridgfords Denton - Seller
Ryan promised to sell our house over the asking price within 3 weeks and he didn't disappoint! You listened to exactly what we wanted and offered great advice. Quick turnaround with initial paperwork, excellent professional photos, perfect advertisement online, overall brilliant communication and reasonably priced (you pay for exactly what you get, well worth going with this team over Ryanair style Purple Bricks). Reliable and professional service offered by all the team, huge thank you to Ryan, Adam, Stacey and Gemma! Can't recommend you all enough!

Avoid Bridgefords at all costs
I have experiences of renting and buying with various agents in the past but has never across an agent as bad as Bridgfords Durham branch. During my purchase of a property in Durham, they lied again and again to cover a minor thing that the garage lock was broken. When the keys were handled over and they no longer could cover this lie, the agent-in-charge actually quit the job exactly on that day. Meanwhile, the letting team tried to convince me to let them manage the property on my behalf. When I declined the service, they even attempted to withhold any related property documents from me. I tried again and again to contact Bridgfords at the time and spoke to various agents, but never even got a proper response. It was very unpleasant and frankly very upsetting. What an βimpressiveβ operation! I would avoid Bridgefords at all costs.
