My daughter rented a property through Parkers in Tilehurst with Lauren looking after the property she rented. Through no fault of her own she ended up having trouble paying rent and bills and Lauren was really understanding and helpful in this matter. When it came to the tenancy ending again Lauren was really helpful and went out of her way to help us clean and clear the property. The service and support from the entire team at Parkers in Tilehurst was fantastic, from start to finish. Charlie, Tom, Luca, and the rest of the Sales Team did a great job with marketing our property. Their use of technology like virtual tours really helps your home stand out. When we unfortunately had our initial buyers fall through, the team re-listed, hosted viewings, and had new buyers in place within a week, saving our onward purchase. Emma in Sales Progression was instrumental in pushing the sale through to completion, managing the chain, and keeping us informed. The whole journey would have been much more difficult without her support. Thank you to the whole team for making a very stressful time that much easier.

I don’t do reviews, and in my 62 years and numerous house sales, I have never felt happy enough to write one about an estate agent. Emma at Parkers, and Parker’s in general, are the exception to the rule. I have seen another review stating how proactive these guys are, and I can only echo that sentiment. They earn their money and Emma worked incredibly hard on my behalf, especially with my useless solicitors. I really felt Emma was “on my side”, and really pushed things along through some quite complicated negotiations. I resent paying commission, but in this case, they were excellent value for money. The marketing and photos were excellent, much better than other local agents. All the staff I have dealt with have been helpful, friendly and responsive - Charlie, Luca, Emma and Dan. I would like to thank Parkers for doing an excellent job for us from start to finish. We chose them from a short list of three based on price and their approach to marketing our property which Charlie explained very clearly. As a result of their marketing we were able to accept an offer promptly, and while this didn't proceed satisfactorily, they quickly found an alternative buyer. What really impressed was their commitment to progressing the sale, especially Emma's efforts. Completing was difficult because of parties elsewhere in the chain. Emma worked tirelessly, engaging at all levels. She communicated regularly, supporting us through a very challenging process. I rented a property through this agency out of urgency, as I really needed a place at the time. Unfortunately, the flat I ended up with was in poor condition, the shower head was literally held together with tape, and part of the kitchen flooring had come off. I had to buy glue and fix it myself. I also had to take on the task of reconciling the utility bills, which should have been handled by the agency. They promised to resolve all the issues, but nothing was ever fixed. At one point, I was even pressured with the comment, “Do you want to leave?” an unhelpful and dismissive response to legitimate concerns. When the toilet extractor fan broke, I replaced it myself, and they never reimbursed me. Due to work commitments, I didn’t have the time or energy to constantly follow up or find a new place, so I endured the situation. To make matters worse, at the end of my tenancy, they had the audacity to try to claim my entire deposit. It’s genuinely outrageous and unjust. Based on my experience, I would never recommend this agency. As for all the glowing reviews, they're hard to believe. I wouldn't be surprised if some of them were paid or fake.

Highly recommend Parker’s Tilehurst. We had a specific time period to sell our house as we were buying a new build and Parker’s managed the timeframe needed. All of the team from start to finish made the process as stress free as possible and communication was great even when we hit a few obstacles with the chain along the way. Often the channels of communication when selling a house can be slow but having a WhatsApp group with Parker’s with such prompt responses was highly beneficial! Thanks again!

Safe hands!

Unfortunately, through no fault of theirs, our sale fell through on Thursday morning, however amazingly, Parker’s managed to get our property back on the market the next day, and then on the saturday morning achieved an offer of the full asking price. Amazing! After this the sale process was handled very smoothly and efficiently by the wonderful Emma. Nothing was too much trouble and we always felt safe in her hands. Parkers performed above and beyond throughout the whole process and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend.

We recently sold my mum’s house through Parker’s Tilehurst. Initially the communication was great amongst the team, regular updates through a joint what’s app group with various members of the team. Mums house sale wasn’t the most straight forward as we had one buyer pull out. We soon received another and the house sold. However, communication as soon as the house was sold was poor! It soon became clear as soon as they had their sale they had zero interest in my mums best interests. We had to chase them for updates constantly, they were rude when phoning in and it all came to a head so I spoke with Charlie who assured me that he would take control of everything. Well……. he was no where to be seen from this day forward! They made promises they couldn't keep just to keep you happy. I wouldn’t recommend this company. If you want a stress free sale or purchase avoid. To be honest I think giving them two stars is pretty generous.

Excellent from start to finish

Parkers Tilehurst managed both our sale and purchase and they have been excellent from start to finish. A couple of years ago we tried to sell through another agency and it did not go well so we vowed to try Parkers next time at the recommendation of my mortgage broker. Charlie dealt with our valuation and the front end stuff, Tom and Luca managed our viewings and Emma dealt with the sales progression. All of them were excellent throughout and were really friendly whilst always remaining professional. When the time comes to sell again it will be a very simple decision to go through Parkers again.
