GoogleCould not recommend Sharman Quinney enough! Abigail Kaylor was amazing; she helped so much by explaining the process of buying our first home, negotiating our offer, and supporting us throughout the whole process! Would not go anywhere else now!

We viewed a property with this company and first of all they were late for the viewing - ok these things happen but no call or no apology. We advised them it was not the property for us but told them it wasn’t price it just wasn’t the one for us, however they have constantly called my partner telling him it’s been reduced and he had repeatedly told them it ISN'T the price. Now they constantly call my partner asking him if we have sold our house yet and even though he has told them multiple times we are not interested in selling with them they keep calling, so much to the extent he has had to block there number because we feel like it’s borderline harassment!

GoogleWe only have positive comments for our experience. Caleb seems to be very close to what one may ever want from an agent. Always polite, helpful and informative, he demonstrated a perfect mix of friendliness and professionalism whenever he communicated with us. We really felt that we are being well looked after.

Even during this busy period they responded to my requests in a timely manner and hurried the conveyancers when needed. I would happily buy/sell through them in the future. Very happy with the service received from Sharman Quinney estate agent, Linda McMullan at the Oundle office was amazing throughout the house buying process, easy to reach, knowledgeable and always happy to help. Katie Staggs was also a pleasure to deal with and pushed for completion at every stage!! Highly recommend. However per the other reviews there was a big push for me to use their in house broker, not a very nice tactic. Even though I had an AIP from NatWest I still had to have a quote from their mortgage broker in their words ‘for my offer to be seen as genuine’.Also Sharman Quinney solicitor were not the best, creating an unnecessary 2 month delay due to not actioning a simple charge removal in good time.

Instructed SQ Thrapston to sell 2 properties. Was pushed towards their favoured conveyancers, the first I rejected due to terrible online reviews. At viewings their performance was decidedly average; not interested in attending viewings after 5pm. Had one offer which was based on a viewing I did. Once we had accepted an offer the selling office lost interest and passed over to the sales progressor who was generally ineffective. No attention to detail whatsoever and poor/inaccurate communication. Ended up dealing with the agent for our purchase because emailing/calling SQ generally a waste of time. On completion not even a phone call or email thanking us for our business. A lot of our problems in the chain were not their fault but they made a tortuous chain worse by their poor communication skills. Would never use again.

Rebbeca, Kerry and Jamie assisted us with the purchase and mortgage, the service they provided was beyond what we could ever have expected and I can't recommend these people enough. If your buying or selling in the Thrapston area then look no further than Shaman Quinney.

Couldn't fault Sharman Quinney up to offer acceptance. Mortgage advice from Sophia was helpful and transparent, and negotiations were smooth with Tom too. However, there was a noticeable drop in customer service once the offer had been accepted. Often couldn't get hold of the estate agents on the phone, and had to actively ask them about what was needed next. The agent in charge of post-offer viewing was also 20mins late, just due to forgetting the viewing, which just helped to show the deprioritisation after offer acceptance.Overall was a good experience, and at the end of the day no mistakes were made and the property purchase went through, but there were things they could have done to make the post-offer journey a lot smoother and more fulfilling.

Dealing with the Great shelford branch for selling . Up to last week they had such a large turnover of staff and a lot of our paperwork and photos have gone missing of ours . Not happy at all with them . They apparently now have a whole new team so Im hoping that things will improve we wait and see . Since a young lady named Alice joined them 3months ago things seem to improve . She paid a visit to our home on the market again due to the present economic current climate of mortgage rates increasing and she had done more in one week than any of the others in the past . So well done Alice you deserve a quick promotion for trying to make things better and restore my faith in the company .

Terrible experience. Be warned and avoid. This was my first experience selling a property and Sharman Quinney, and Adam Tanswell in particular, were a nightmare to deal with. It started out with a few small warning signs as Adam came to our home and he seemed a bit pushy, but we went ahead with advertising our property with them, if only we’d gone with our instincts and not assumed all agents are like this.After an initial 2 weeks with 4 viewings (none of which came to anything), things cooled off very quickly. We went several weeks with few viewings or communication and had to push them for updates. After 6 weeks we were getting really disheartened and asked if we could give 30 days’ notice and give someone else a go (Adam made it clear when we met, we could give 30 days’ notice to end the contract). Their response was to send excerpts from the contract highlighting that 30 days could only be given after week 25!! And if we advertised with anyone else their fees would go up considerably and they would try to block any sale independent of them or seek their inflated fees on top.It was a really intimidating and stressful time, they should have tried to address our concerns and offered advice and reassurance rather than point to the contract points in their favour.We got advice to take it to an ombudsman who would be very concerned by such a long length of contract and poor terms, but despite this we waited out the 25 weeks to be free. We received more no shows than viewings (few of either) and towards the end of the contract they tried to pressure is into selling to a property developed for well under the asking price.To make matters worse, once the contract ended, they sent us a bill for £150 for their advertising and requested we pay it within 3 days. Ironically, we couldn’t get any reply from Adam or Mike Sharman when we wanted advice towards the and of the contract, and they were slow to respond to requests to remove our ads after the contract ended, but quick to send us this bill and request immediate payment (twice in two days). There are plenty of much better agents out there, and we’ve had a much better experience now we’re with someone else. Avoid Sharman Quinney and Adam Tanswell.

GoogleI am really disappointed with Sherman Quinney They had my property for more than one year and failed to sell it 3 times The first time there was a chain but they kept this from me. The second time was because they failed to check the buyers mortgage income until the last second The third time, after calling the manager Mr Johnson, he reassured me that a chain will not happen again, yet proceeded to make the same mistake. He repeatedly stalled, fed me lies and deception for six months. It was my own solicitor who contacted me to inform me that the buyer pulled out- Sharman Quiney couldn’t even bother to say themselves They do not have the capacity, knowledge and capability to sell, I spent all my time chasing them and doing their jobs for them. I lost the best time to sell and paid 3 times solicitor fee plus a year of paying the mortgage and council tax from my pocket Please avoid this estate agent

Josh in particular has gone to extreme lengths to get us there and has worked tirelessly on our case which under any other circumstances could easily have failed. GoogleCannot recommend the team at Sharman Quinney enough! I’ve just brought my first home and it couldn’t have been a more easy, smooth and exciting process. Lucy took my initial inquiry and was so helpful and polite, I then arranged a viewing on my new home and had the viewing with Mariella. She was so helpful In answering questions, discussing how I can plan the layout of the house, was really patient in letting me get a good feel of the home and take it all in. I then went into the office to speak with Josh regarding a mortgage which he couldn’t have been more helpful and clear on the process! I made an offer the following day with Mariella and a few days later she called me to say congratulations! The whole process so far has been an absolute pleasure! I can’t wait to get into my new home and I’m so grateful for the team making this so exciting and straight forward!

Everyone helped out in finding our dream home, especially Lauren and Lucy and Rachael was brilliant with arranging the mortgage. Lived in multiple different rented places over ~10 years (i move around a lot with work) and SQ are by far the worst letting agent i have ever used.Staff are uncommunicative, slow and incompetent. The online reporting system for faults is excellent - but never used by the staff. Not a single fault we ever reported was ever fixed - apart from the massive water leak we had which we fixed ourselves and then billed them for. There is no emergency out of hours contact number so tenants are left to fend for themselves in such situations.In the year we rented with SQ - they never ONCE answered the phone, and only occasionally responded to emails.On several occasions, we tried to visit the letting agent branch directly to complain- only to find the door locked (despite being during normal opening hours) and no one around. We even had to wait outside and have someone unlock the door to hand our keys back.It is by no means evident what, exactly, these people do for their money. You'd be much better off taking your chances with another agent, or renting directly from the landlord. Heed my warning - avoid SQ if at all possible.
