We listed our house for sale and we're trapped into a 20 week lock in period. No contact from the agent, only 2 viewings in 3 months. No service whatsoever and then when we try to extricate ourselves their so called termination letter says they would still be entitled to their fee. Shocking service would avoid completely in the future.

If I could give less than one star for the penistone branch, I would. We rearranged to view a property. The lady we spoke to in the office was most unhelpful very annoyed because we gave her a few dates for our visit and it was almost as if we were putting her out because she had to contact the vendor to arrange it! when we finally arranged the visit the vendor never turned up so we were stood waiting for an hour. We’ve never once been contacted by the estate agency since to find out how the visit went , so presumably they’re not interested in whether the vendor wants to sell their house or not .Maybe the staff for the Penistone branch could do with a little bit more customer service training, we would never use this estate agent again.

We have just bought a property from them. We agreed to pay full asking price, cash, immediately, as long as it was a direct sale and did not go through the auction process. On completion, we were charged over £5000 for an Auction and Auctioneers fees which did not happen. I have to take legal action.

GoogleDon’t even know where to start about how amazing this company is. They took over a property I rented and let me know straight away, they helped me set up a new payment plan regarding my rent when they took it over and kept me up to date with anything new that was happening regarding the properly. I would like to say a massive thank you to Lois and if anyone is lucky enough to have her when renting a property through this company they will not be disappointed. She helped me with any problem that occurred whilst living in the property and went way beyond her job role with advice for me when I hit a difficult situation. She was always free to talk and give advice and it was never a problem for her, William h brown should be so proud because she is an amazing asset to that company! Thank you for making my letting experience amazing and when I come to buying a property I will definitely be coming back to this estate agents as first choice!!PositiveResponsiveness, Professionalism

Communication was great and nothing was too much trouble, going far above and beyond to help problem-solve various crises which arose during our house purchase - quick to respond, kind and straightforward. Appalling service after signing contract, send people that aren't even on the market to view.. never return calls, castleford staff are arrogant, and lie through their back teeth.. would never use William H Brown again and advise anyone not to use them and go with anyone but them. Put a complaint in and got more lies, end of subject.. the at te reviews they have so many one stars 😡

GoogleAbsolute first class estate agent and truly a CUT ABOVE their local competitors....!!! (WH Brown were not the only agent we saw so comparisons were noted) Very very helpful and informative, guided us through our first time experience in property search in a professional manner which was refreshing in this era of lack of customer service. We had liaison with three separate staff members and all were as courteous and informative as each other, so a great team spirit and and management who value customer focus. Never pushy at any stage we also met their in house mortgage broker who is independent from WH Brown and the applause applies. All theses Guys KNOW their business HIGHLY RECOMMEND..!!!! I don't usually leave reviews but the horrific experience I had renting a property with William H Brown warrants letting others know how this company functions. From start to finish things were conducted haphazardly - no exit inventory was done when the tenant before me left and the inventory they did prior to me moving in was extremely inaccurate. When I moved in I found rodent faeces, mould, and general grime throughout the house. A couple of weeks after moving in, the shower was leaking badly through to the ceiling below, next to an electrical fixture. It took nearly 8 months to get them to sort it. At the end of my tenancy, the landlord made claims on the deposit for a number of inaccurate reasons, including damage left by the contractors they hired to finally do the repairs on the shower. Throughout my tenancy, getting through to the property manager with "Sequence" was difficult. I was often told they would call me back and never did. All in all they do not seem to have the best interests of tenants in mind and do a poor job of mediating with unresponsive landlords. I will not ever rent from them again and would never recommend anyone else to do so either.

GoogleI should have wrote this review a few months ago , so apologies. The purchase through this agent got fairly frustrating, however it really was beyond the agents control. I wish to thank Michelle for her attentive manner, she's an absolute asset to the branch. Both the manager James and Jodie the mortgage advisor are also great. I wasn't a fan of sequence trying to get them to use their conveyancing contacts and for this I have knocked off a star. All in all Clacton branch seems to be good in comparison to the others.

GoogleMe and my partner recently used this agency to move into our first rental property. Something that for us could have been made alot more difficult and stressful if we didn't have Tom and ollie to help us. Tom was extremely helpful and cooperative for our situation and making the time to talk us through things we didn't understand. He took the time to give us a separate viewing when we had forgotten the layout of the property. His communication always seemed quick. Ollie was also very helpful and communicated things with us quickly and made things easy to understand. Both were great to deal with and made this stressful experience a exciting one.

GoogleWe dealt with william h brown for our recent move regarding the property we were buying. We were very impressed, from Sales showing us round and dealing with the purchase and then the fantastic Michelle with regards to the progression of the sale. Michelle kept us up to date the whole way through, contacting us pretty much every week with the latest news on how the sale was proceeding. Excellent service all round, would certainly recommend if you ever need to buy or sell a property. Thanks 👍

They were very prompt and extremely professional and friendly at all times made us at ease, and as first time tenants they guided us all the way step by step .
