My partner and I arrived at the property to be greeted by the smiley Kenya. Kenya was really helpful throughout the entire viewing, and helped answer all of our questions. We were shocked when Kenya said she had only started recently. So far, our experience with Gatekeeper as a whole has been really positive. They have kept us in the loop with many emails/texts, and we have really appreciated this.

We sold our two-bed terraced house in Banbury with Gatekeeper in 2021. Gatekeeper is an honestly run business, and we found that they took a genuine interest in the house. Unlike other estate agents we spoke to, they seemed to note the details of the house and based their valuation on a full assessment of its merits.They were communicative when arranging viewings and secured two offers in very quick time. Unfortunately, when we accepted an offer, we quickly lost it. We had made clear when appointing Gatekeeper that we were not in a position to move quickly and had no desire to be rushed out of the house. This did not seem to have been communicated to the buyer, who pulled out once informed that we would not be able to move for several months at best. We also felt that Gatekeeper put us under undue pressure to appoint a solicitor immediately when it was very difficult to find a solicitor with availability at the time (owing to how busy the property market was). We did secure a second offer, far below the original. When we eventually found a property, Gatekeeper again encouraged us to move out of our house and into rented property in the interim. We felt this was unnecessary and overly pushy, so we declined.Ahead of moving day itself, Gatekeeper advised us that we should make sure we were out of the property by 10am. I questioned this advice at the time and explained that it was contrary to the advice we had been given by the solicitor. They advised that our buyers may take legal action if we were not out by 10am and, fearing legal reprisals, we were ready to go by that time.In the end, we were unable to move into our new property until around 5pm. I returned to our old house at about 4.30pm (to take away some empty boxes that we hadn't been able to fit in the van - it seemed unfair to leave these for the new owner). At that point the new owner had not even collected the keys from the estate agent, let alone started moving in. That is to say that we could have saved a lot of money on removal company fees if we had not followed Gatekeeper's advice. As I said at the start of this review, Gatekeeper is an honest company and I believe they set out to provide a good service, but I felt the need to write a full and detailed review as there are simple steps they can take to help their customers feel more relaxed and less hounded. Their commission on a sale is significant, and it is not unreasonable that they should go out of their way to ensure the clients who pay them are treated with understanding by potential buyers.

Gatekeeper have been amazing from start to finish! From the very beginning Dan Thorne has been super responsive and helpful! Always answering the phone and emails super speedy and being a great point of contact! The valuation process was thorough and accurate and the marketing of our property was amazing with the inclusion of professional photos of our property included in the fees, Dan managed this process for us the whole way! We were fortunate enough to sell very quickly after hitting the market which was definitely helped by the accurate market valuation and fantastic photos and property description! As this was our first property we had ever sold, and where a little anxious, the instant feedback service after each viewing was always a great help to ease our nervousness! When I came to negotiations again Dan was really clear and concise and gave us all the details we needed, giving us confidence to select the best offer for us! From that point you are handed over to a move manager, again included in the fees- which again is excellent value for money! Harriet Dearlove was amazing throughout this whole process, being a constant contact after the point of accepting offer! As the move manager she also became the middle man for both our sale and purchase of our onward property!! Which really took the pressure off having the chase everyone! Our experience with Gatekeeper has been really amazing from start to finish! Very professional, responsive, great value for money and friendly! I would recommend them to anyone, and if the time comes I wouldn’t hesitate to use them again!! Thank you!!!

I would recommend Gatekeeper to anyone. They were fantastic from start to finish. I had had an awful experience with a previous estate agent but Gatekeeper (Dan Thorne in particular) gave me a great deal, put me at ease and got me two offers in the first weekend it was on the market with them. Even when my original buyer pulled out they had it straight back on the market and again got me two offers in the first weekend, and settled on one that was £4K more than the original offer anyway.Their move manager Harriet was good at keeping me up to date and good at chasing chain and solicitors etc when needed.
