GoogleHad a very poor experience with this agent. The owner of the company is an extremely nice person however staff are very poor. Just to give you an example when I asked to take property of market was told to give 4 weeks notice once this had passed they asked for confirmation in writing. Ended up delaying things and they don’t understand how this impacts on people’s lives. They are not the cheapest with fees, you don’t get any updates, they don’t negotiate any prices. Based on experience would highly recommend to stay away from them. As mentioned owner is wonderful but staff are not worth wasting your time on. I would recommend owner gets some new staff.

GoogleNOTE: updated to only reflect comments relevant to Acres estate agents Our previous rental property is being sold by Acres. Two days after we found out (very unexpectedly) the house was being sold the agent came round, as well as Nigel Deekes who was asking if we had a move out date yet. To which I replied no, we only found out two days ago that the house was being sold, and he laughed !?? Glad such an unexpected, stressful event for us made you laugh Nigel! Acres have not given us any of our post since we moved out. I have contacted Acres multiple times asking to collect our post but have been told there is none. Having been in contact with the senders, I am aware of multiple pieces of post so I know that this is untrue. Absolutely appalling experience, do not deal with Acres!
I am so sorry to read you review, however Acres do not have a lettings department, this was sold some time ago to John Shepherd and company. Accordingly I would be grateful if this review could be removed as it reflects upon Acres and not the lettings agent involved, who are next door to us and not part of or owned by Acres estate agents. GoogleSold and bought with same vendor From start to finish, Liz helped the sale of our house and purchase my new property and one for the Ex! Simply lovely lady! Lorraine then dealt with the contract and chasing of all parties involved in the considerable chain! Again lovely! Would highly recommend the agents will use them gladly if I ever need to!! Nigel who initially saw us to sell our property was a total professional and a great ambassador for the company

My initial meeting with Nigel provided me with the confidence and knowledge that I was dealing with and putting my trust in the right firm. Subsequent dealings throughout the sales process with staff members Matt and office staff Liz and Lorraine have again proved very positive, efficient and professional. Acres, kept in contact with us all through the process. I have to also mention Jacqui Crane, from Taylor Rose who Acres recommend, she was absolutely on the ball. Kept us updated all the way. GoogleEnquired about one of their rental properties on August 3rd via rightmove and recieved no correspondance until the 16th to be informed the property was now let. I wouldnt be so annoyed but when I called and spoke to Samantha she was rude, laughed at me on the call and told me to call them in future. I was told my email was received 13 days after I sent the enquiry. I didnt realise as a potential client you were supposed to chase an agent yourself. This was a property we were waiting for to put in an application.

GoogleFour Oaks Branch Emailed yesterday to arrange a viewing. No response to my email. Called today and asked again stated l had no reply to my email. Was told there was an application in for the property concerned, had to ask twice what this mean ? Did this mean no other viewings are allowed ? The woman l spoke to was really rude and assumes everyone knows what she means when using property terms. Not impressed at all with this appalling service. Not a good impression of this company at all...NegativeQuality

GoogleIf you’re not sure about using a local estate agent to handle your sale or rental then be mindful of all the things that could go wrong, especially once a deal is agreed and handling all enquiries and viewings. Without the team at acres, my time and effort would be strained and I would not have been assured at every step. I was most impressed by their support progressing the sale once agreed as well as the team being responsive to answer calls and emails quickly and professionally. GoogleI rented a property with the Tamworth Branch about 15 years ago, which I have now discovered is no longer open.. I wonder why!! The then manager never returned my deposit, even though there was nothing wrong with the property when handed back. And all the rent had been paid on time, without any problems. I was young an this was the first property I had rented, so didn't feel there was anything I could do at the time. Can't say it has ever made me confident with estate agents since, and I would never use Acres out of principle now.NegativeResponsiveness, Professionalism
Given you review was based on an experience 15 years ago, on an office that has been closed for many years, and for a lettings service we do not offer I feel your review to be unfair on the excellent service we offer / team we have, and would ask you to reconsider, or remove this prior to a referral to Google review department for their view on the validity of the post. GoogleI purchased my house through Acres in 2018 and have just exchanged the sale with them and complete this week. From the outset they were very professional, courteous and listened to feedback and gave sound advice. The house went on the market 3 times in the end due to factors outside of Acres control each time they had new viewings immediately and adjusted the value to capture the market rate each time. It has taken 6-months to go through from the last purchaser to now due to the upper chain, however Acres ensured that all parties in the sale were kept up to date and the chain remained active. I couldn't recommend them enough for their professionalism and outstanding commitment to the customer. GoogleABSOLUTELY APPALLING! I've had dealings with Acres Lettings and Estates based in Four Oaks, Sutton Coldfield, and had the worst experience I've ever had with an Estate/Lettings Agent. The attitude and approach by staff, and the Partner based at that office, is appalling. We were persistently lied to when both renting and purchasing a property from Acres Lettings/Estates. I could understand if they were operating with the Landlord's best interests, but this was never the case. On a number of occasions, the Lettings office would not deal with issues such internal water leaks until it was too late - resulting in additional (otherwise avoidable) work to be carried out - which the Landlord had to pay for. When we moved in to the rental property, we were given an incorrect Inventory from 18 months before and told "not to worry about it". The property was allowed to be Let to us with a light in the shower cubicle completely exposed to water! This was not rectified for many months despite us notifying them when we first moved in. There were no light bulbs there - we were told to go and buy some and we would be reimbursed (which we weren't). We had that many problems with things not being dealt with over the 15 months we were there, that in the end we decided to move out and purchase a property earlier than we had intended to. Acres gave us verbal permission to terminate our rental contract early (they told us the Landlord had agreed this). As we didn't have this in writing we relayed it back to them on email but we had no response. The house we were buying was being sold by Acres Estates (next door to Acres Lettings). Once we had moved in to the new house, Acres tried to charge us for tenancy to the end of the contract and denied giving us permission to terminate early. Accordingly they withheld our deposit. They also made us responsible for bills and Council Tax. We can't help feeling that this was most likely intentional to make a quicker sale on the property. We wrote several complaints about our concerns, but they were not acknowledged. In the end we had to take legal action against Acres to recover our financial losses (which we were successful in). We have also reported this to the property ombudsman. Interestingly, if you take a look at 'allagents' website, every review about Acres gives 1/5 and have experienced the same lies and two-faced unprofessional approach as us. It goes on to advise that Acres Estates are ranked position 12392 out of 12552 in the UK (at time of press)! There are plenty of other Estate/Lettings Agents in Sutton Coldfield - I would strongly recommend using a different one to Sell/Let your property. I deal with a lot of business/services in my day job, and Acres are one of the worst companies I have ever dealt with.
