GoogleAn unfortunate experience with this office. Definitely there are better agents than JD Wood in the area.
Their professionalism and ability to resolve issues is minimal - They claim their job ends when the keys are handed over, with zero interest if what they hand over is according to the contract. They simply do not care and they are merely transactional and when you try to escalate it internally the entire office is just disrespectful.

TrustpilotAvoid at any cost
If I could give zero I will! Awful experience starting from when they gave me the keys and then literally disappeared! Then the inventory was totally different from what I found in the house and when I contacted them they said contact the landlord we can’t do anything! Glad that the landlord was cooperative. Now after leaving the house it took them 10 days to send me the inventory checkout and I called them everyday and they gave a different story every day! Now I have been chasing the deposit for 1 month! Literally awful experience, avoid at any cost.

Delighted with how the Chelsea office managed my sale, in particular Sema and Jamie. Calm, responsive, proactive and showed real belief in the project. Head and shoulders above their competitors.

GoogleThe worst ever estate agent I have come across. Be aware!
Family of 4 with two young children, we rented a house through them in order to get to know the area and buy. I have an endless list of things to mention, but here are some highlights:
1. They threatened us with eviction in order to renew our tenancy contract, which is out of order not to mention illegal.
2. We also informed them about an illegal and unsafe boiler installation. We spoke to a professional heating engineer which informed us that under a specific scenario, the life of the occupant (my child to be precise) could be at risk. The estate agent chose to ignore this information and did not inform the new tenant and hid the evidence.
3. The landlady tried her luck with the deposit. It was refunded after 4 long months of fighting during which the estate agent chose to ignore the facts and play dumb, of course in order to keep the property/client in their books. You should be ashamed!
It was a horrible experience, to the point that when we started looking to buy, I never approached them and I wrote off any properties that were advertised by them.
Very short-sighted, as your today's tenants will be your tomorrow's buyers, and also your tomorrow's sellers. Pure ignorance!

GoogleI needed to find a flat at very short notice following an extremely quick sale of my home and buyers who wanted to be in “yesterday”. Alice helped me find a property that matched my requirements, including a break clause, and was very patient and understanding when there was a short delay on the house sale. She worked with the landlord to ensure I didn’t lose the flat while the process ran its course and I am very satisfied with the process, which could have been very traumatic but was managed very efficiently.PositiveResponsiveness, Professionalism

TrustpilotRUN AWAY FROM THEM!
RUN AWAY FROM THEM!I have lived in many flats in London and never have I experienced such a terrible process. First of all, we wrote down a formal offer with 1 only requirement. After our offer was accepted and we payed one week worth of rent to secure the place, they tell us that specific requirement cannot be met. They took almost 3 weeks to make the landlord sign our contract, and it was voided TWICE so we had to re-sign the contract 3 times in total as they kept adding clauses to it. During the move in, we realise the flat had not been cleaned (and the contract stated everything had to be professionally cleaned, even curtains and sofas.....) but the flat was in an appalling state really. We asked for it to be cleaned again and we are still waiting..... Not to say that we are still waiting for the landlord to pay the inventory. The people in this agency are very rude and will treat you bad. One advice, never use this agency!!!

I have had really good customer service from the team at John D Wood, especially Sardar and Camilla. Sardar swiftly arranged a viewing for me and he and Camilla were fantastic pushing things through so I could have a move in date within a week. Exceptional, especially with the move in date being 2 days before Christmas.Highly recommended!

TrustpilotAwful Lettings Management
As a tenant who has had John D Wood as my lettings management for the last 6 years I can say that they are absolutely awful. They don't reply to emails, don't take responsibility, don't put out of office emails on so you can't get anything urgent done. I would never use them.

GoogleThis has to be the worst estate agent i have every come across on the renting side .The staff are not trust worthy as i am out of pocket by £1100 and when you speak to
a manager about this all you get is go away as not interested about any of your concerns.
Only address now is court action as dont waste your time with the ptoperty ombudsman of whom will stick up for their mates at the estate agents.
Please avoid this agent if you want to stay in pocket i unfortunately have leant the hard way.

We take all feedback very seriously and are regretful that your experience with the John D Wood & Co Weybridge office was not a positive one.
Having been through our internal complaints procedure, and with the Property Ombudsman finding your claims without merit, unfortunately we are unable to help further on this matter.
If within the timeframe given by the Property Ombudsman we would suggest you lodge an appeal with them for a further review.

GooglePrice agreed with Landlord, paperwork going through, financial checks done, provisional date of moving agreed. Told day before move that the Landlord has some “flags” about the financial references. Offered to pay 18k first year rent up front. JDW then came clean and said that there has been another offer and the landlord is taking that offer.... total disgrace, playing with peoples lives! Underhand and untrustworthy! Never told there was another offer on the table, simply playing both sides to ensure a sale!

TrustpilotAwful experience
John D Wood owns APW, a lettings management company. Having raised a complaint against APW, I was, after a ridiculous amount of badgering, passed to John D Wood. Despite terrible reviews of APW already in place and after providing (several times) a list of 14 significant issues, I was informed they had done nothing wrong. Well, if the service (or lack thereof) I received was ‘fine’, goodness knows what this company thinks is poor service. Absolutely dreadful experience. I share another reviewer's frustration when they said they'd rather give their house away than use these guys again. Truly awful. Please don't use them.

TrustpilotAbsolutely Dismal Organization
Absolutely Tragic OrganizationFailure to execute basic needs prior to move in- including ensuring lightbulbs were functioning. Failure to deliver resolutions to Damp issues preceding tenancy agreement. Even after escalating issues this organization failed to deliver anything in a timely manner. Incredibly disorganized and charging a 17.5% fee to landlord for Property "Management" when in reality they put the management of the property on the tenant. As others have said, quick to demand if they need anything from tenant, slow to react if anything is need of them. If I am a landlord I am steering clear of this organization or risking potential lawsuits.

TrustpilotUnprofessional
Unprofessional, non-responsive and DO NOT return deposits timely I had a problem slumlord with endless defects in the flat at 4100 a month. Landlord used JDW chelsea/earls court to manage the property. The pod never responded to email to fix anything. After 6 months we agreed to leave and pay less rent. The kid and his colleagues delayed releasing £4700 deposit for 18 days after moving out using any and all excuses until I threatened to file a dispute! Buyer be ware.

Terrible, terrible, terrible.John D Wood Richmond Branch is a nightmare. They are trying to charge for the damages which they were before the tenancy started.
