1stAvenue running out of money! Be careful they promise you a lot in your viewing. Even before Corona pandemic they didn’t maintain flats anymore, they try to increase the rent at any cost, and try to find desperate reductions from your deposit in the end. The need for maintenance work is increasing due to the age of the buildings in Croydon. They do not even switch on the light in the Keats (Croydon) office anymore, looks like they can’t pay the electricity bill. Only two little bedside lights in the office. There is a reasons why more and more people move out and why they offer flats so cheap. Issues with tenants are rising as they accept everybody now; changing environment with people throwing things out of the windows, drugs smell etc. They put a site fence on the street were people throwing things out of the widows, at least people outside cannot be hit anymore. The entrance door has every week another issue and they are not fixing it. I am better not telling about the lift. Additionally, unfriendly and incompetent stuff. Assistants are now managing the flats, most probably because they are cheap. Stuff turnover is high. Stay away from 1stAvenue Croydon!

After 2 years of sharing houses in London, my partner and I decided to rent our own flat. We looked for some properties, contacted some agents (some very shady ones), until we found 1st Avenue which had some nice flats available. We managed to book a viewing before lockdown and Michelle was amazing. She showed us the property and answered all our questions. We loved the flat and the service, so we showed our interest straight away. Michelle took care of everything and we got the confirmation that the flat was "ours" about a week later. Unfortunately, with the lockdown, we weren't able to finish the move-in process in person and there was the chance we couldn't move in at all if the previous tenant would be in quarantine. As we had already given our notice to the property we were in, we were really afraid, but Erron kept us updated and facilitated an online move-in process. Everything went as expected and, when already at the property, we noticed that two situations need maintenance. We used the maintenance portal and reported the issues. Jodie was prompt on providing solutions. For all the reasons I mentioned above, we are really happy the 1st Avenue service.PositiveResponsiveness, Professionalism

Michelle has been very friendly, responsive and helpful throughout the whole process, she has always been happy to answer all of our questions and concerns. I have to mention that I was in contact with this agency before, around September 2019, and did not get a service as good and professional as the one we got from Michelle. Made a enquiry to rent an apartment from 1st Avenue and firstly they didn’t get back to me. After the second attempt I phoned them and explained that I was ringing to enquire about renting one of their apartments. I spoke to a woman called Michelle and quite frankly found her quite rude, uninterested and unhelpful. She had no personality it was like talking to an automated service. She said that she would send me a link for an online viewing but never sent it. I got the impression she really wasn’t interested in renting me the apartment hence her uninterested attitude and failure to sent me the link for my online viewing. Won’t use them again

Un-responsive staff, tenants deposit holder

I am extremely disappointed the way they treat their customer. I rented a apartment through 1staveneue.co.uk last year 2020 during lockdown, so we could not visit the property and through video and information provided us we confirmed the property. The property were listed as "zero deposit" but when we like the property and informed our current landlord about our move, they asked us 5 weeks deposit. This was the first think they fooled us. Anyway we have to move so we paid deposit.
