GoogleWe tried to buy a house through Andrews, but after four months and lots of wasted money, the vendors pulled out only to put their house on the market for £20k more than our offer yesterday. The sales process was beset by poor communication, including misinforming us about the vendor's plans and treating us with casual disrespect. What's worse is the agent tried to gaslight us that the vendor's withdrew because we had "put too much pressure on them" to exchange (we had to be out of our holiday let within six weeks so needed certainty, and we have a kid - not an acceptable reason apparently) whereas the vendors just wanted more money and the agents were happy to facilitate, and were willing to force us into potential homelessness to give themselves the option to get it. So we spent two weeks thinking we had messed it up whereas that was not the case. The agent's tried to relist the house on rightmove to cover up the fact it was actually sold before. I hope buyers ask some questions about what happened to us, the previous vendors, and the survey etc. I would not recommend buying through these agents and certainly won't be doing so again, even if they had the best house in Stroud.
