I had a positive renting experience through Oyster properties. In my dealings with Gemma, I found that she was very professional and pleasant and prompt in responding. The landlord tried to increase the rent after we had verbally agreed a rate but she intervened.The property was in good condition and the landlord was otherwise reasonable. Deposit was returned with no issues, though I did have the place properly cleaned before leaving. I did not have issues with maintenance so I did not have to deal with maintenance staff, which seems to be one of the areas that other reviewers were concerned about.

GoogleIf there was an option for giving no stars at all, I would do so. I would not recommend this property agency. I was a tenant renting through them and when we left the property in better cleanliness and overall condition then when we had moved in, they took £150.00 off our deposit for a couple of lightbulbs being wasted and a couple of other completely insignificant and minor things such as a curtain rail that had come loose and a hinge on a kitchen cupboard door that just needed adjusting. It was completely disproportionate to take off 150.00 for 3 very minor things. They refused to answer my emails and phonecalls and I couldn't escalate it with the manager because they kept saying the manager was unavailable.
We left the property immaculate and looked after it carefully as if it was our own.
We were very disappointed and unimpressed with this agency and I would not recommend anyone to use them.

Once the house was ready for sale I also instructed Oyster for the sale of my house and that was handled brilliantly. They used a street app which was amazing as you knew exactly how many viewings you had each day, who was viewing and their position (ie if they had a mortgage in place, or had a property to sell before they could proceed). Within 2 weeks we had several offers and sale was agreed a week later. They were attentive and responsive. Highly recommend

GoogleReally nice experience so far, which is rare for agencies. I started my tenancy on the 04jul23 and the communication with the agent (Gemma)/agency has been very good. Based on my previous experiences with other agencies, Oyster has shown transparency and care for the tenants - they are very prompt in responding queries and sending info.
I’ll update if I have any issues later on, but the property I moved into was pretty well taken care off, so I believe everything will go smoothly. I’ve logged 1 issue through the property management system and the response was pretty quick.
Update:
It’s been a year and the agency is still very good in my opinion. They follow up with the tenants concerns. The renewal process was smooth and they took care of everything. Communication was good.

GoogleHi guys, I’m requesting everyone not to rent property from this agency because after all they are after your money, when you’re about to rent property from them they will say they gonna fix all the maintenance issues, so you trust them and you rent property, after they don’t care about what maintenance needs to be done until your contract is expires, once it’s about to expire they will start to blame you that you didn’t maintain the property. But the fact is their property are already worse before you move in they just pretend they will do something about maintenance but in real they don’t do anything and when your contract is finished they will blame for even small things And after they won’t return your deposit amount. So if you really want to get a property for rent, get it from somewhere else but not from oyster property.
