Atrocious customer service from the lettings team. We had one viewing with an agent (Jack). We were enthusiastic about getting the place so next morning we popped over to the office to give them all our paperwork, etc. All that was left was to sign a contract and pay them money. Jack promised to get back to us within a day. He never did. Two days later I call them and he's off sick... okay, so someone else can pick this up? I called them every day or two, every time I'd get promises of a call back within an hour, or by a certain time that same day, etc. Even once Jack was back he never called me - I kept calling him and he would always never know what was happening and just promise to get back to us. It's one thing to make vague promises about time, but they would give me very specific deadlines they set for themselves to get in touch with me, and they never did. I made it clear we wanted the place and to sign a lease, but their incompetence got in the way. This process continued for 2 WEEKS! After which we gave up and I went to another agent who actually calls back their clients when they promise to and are communicative. I think in total I got about 10 callback promises, and 0 calls. I've never had to try to give someone my money this hard before in my life. Avoid at all costs.

Best experience of using an estate agent even though I live hundreds of miles away. Must mention Matt who was very positive, professional and super efficient in getting the flat onto the market. Also Becky for her quick replies to emails and weekly update. And especially Sahil for sorting out all the important stuff at the end, nothing was too much trouble even after the sale had gone through. I really do recommend these people.

This journey with renting it's not easy at all, as we hit many walls and we met different types of agents: uninterested, unprepared, cold, unfriendly, unprofessional.Yes, we met them all, but I will focus my attention on those kind, professionals and empathic agents. I mostly find the staff to be really helpful and go out of your way to help you! I was told before moving into my property that it would be fully furnished however the estate agent hadn't actually checked this with the landlord, it had just been presumed, meaning that I moved in with my property missing furniture which I now have to pay for.. The estate agents response to this was simply sorry, nothing was offered to rectify the mistake.

So impressed with the service we received from Townends when we had to move quickly and unexpectedly smack bang in the middle of a pandemic.
