GoogleWe were tenants who used Leaders in St Albans to rent a property. We have had a negative experience of them and have found them unhelpful and frustrating. a few examples are as below: - They told us we couldn't move in for another week after the advertised move in date (resulting in my housemate and I being homeless for a week!) because the flat was being cleaned- it had had some internal building work done so was filthy, therefore we were prepared to wait the week. However when we came to move in, no one from the agency had bothered to check the flat and low and behold nothing had been cleaned and we had to move in to an industrially dusty flat. We also then spent a week cleaning it ourselves and had no money off of our rent! -We paid them a huge amount of money to essentially change our names over and give us our keys. The agency forgot to register us as new tenants with our utility bill companies (a service they had said they offer as part of this fee) we therefore had to set everything up ourselves. -The staff we have dealt with have not been very helpful when we've called them, other than a very nice lady who helped us contact our landlord when our heating broke when it was snowing. She was filling in for a guy who said he could help us urgently but then took 2 hours for his lunch break! We definitely would not recommend leaders and would not use them again.

Unfortunately this type of situation does arise on a rare occasion where the Landlord manages a property and Leaders have no involvement during a tenancy. GoogleI have been a landlord for over 20 years. I have used Leaders (formerly Darwoods) in St Albans over many years and they have always, been highly professional, efficient and straightforward to deal with. Staff are pleasant and courteous and telephone calls are returned and correspondence dealt with promptly in a quiet and efficient way without difficulty or problem. (My tenants have also been grateful for the quick way in which deposits have been returned!) It is customary to focus solely on the sales effort in lettings but it should be emphasised that the firm’s administration and property maintenance departments have also all been very good and responsive. They have also been proactive in forewarning and providing guidance in respect of any pending statutory matters or regulations which landlords need to be aware of. I deal with agents in various parts of the countryside, and without exception, my own personal experience has been that Leaders’ service is superior to others. I would have no hesitation in recommending this firm to potential landlords.

GoogleThey were really nice. Provided an online viewing which was very appreciated as a lot of other agents won't. Sadly there was a bad connection so I got sent a video as soon as we notice the call wasn't going to work. They answer fairly fast and are helpful.

The person on the phone who booked the viewing had a prompt and a professional approach toward my request and calmly explained everything I needed to know. At the property a lovely young lady showed us the rooms and very polite answered every of our questions we had. Great service! :)

GoogleExcellent service. Mandy went so far out of her way to help us. We saw 4 other agents but Mandy was the only one in St Albans that genuinely wanted to help us. She was really knowledgable of the areas too. Alex in the office was also quick to help and the communication was particularly quick.

GoogleRequested to see a house For Sale, found the girl VERY timid and shy, very un-confident, didn’t give me a feeling that I would be well looked after and that the sale would run well If I was to offer, not sure she knew what she was doing ?????? NOT IMPRESSED AT ALL, shame as I had a flat to sell too, but wouldn’t trust a child to sell it.

We were at the time having difficulty gaining info from sellers solicitors and Scott quickly got our answers. He remained supportive in the sales progression until completion day. It was a pleasure dealing with him and I can thoroughly recommend him to anyone who wants to sell their property.
