Originally when I rented my property it was via St Moores and they were lovely and helped me with everything and all my annoying questions. At this point I did not realise how much I wish it stayed with them. Charters took over and most of the people that I have dealt with have been friendly and eager to help out. And only for that reason am I not giving a 1 star. So no one informed me of the check out process and I had to call in to find out what was going on. At this time I was met on the phone by a very rude consultant. The lounge room floor was fixed at some point close the beginning of my tenancy but looked like it was done by amateurs as the carpet wasn’t even put back in the same way it was before with a lot of the edges not under the skirting as it should be. I did complain about damp in the wall that was causing a lot of mould but that was “fixed” and painted over at a later stage. This is obviously going to become a problem again for future tenants because I have never known damp to be fixed by painting over it. The person Charters got to paint the bedroom didn’t lay down any protection on the floors or furniture and left paint splatters over my bedding, luggage and other parts of the room ie the door handles and light switches. Now that I have moved out Charters are trying to take a massive chunk of my deposit to “repair” things that were there once I moved in or caused by their “professional” handymen.I guess that is why they are such a successful company because they make all their money from extortionate deductions at the end of the tenancy. But as I could see from my previous review they get people to remove any unfavourable reviews. But this one is staying so people can understand what they getting into.

I really appreciate Charters Estate Agents as they are so so quick in responding to enquiries and whenever we have a problem in the flat the issue is resolved on the day and latest the day after. They also check in to see if an issue was in fact solved and are always super friendly and helpful. I have been lucky with estate agents in the past but so far this is my favourite.

I have used Charters twice recently and been extremely impressed with them both times. Firstly, they have been responsible for the sale of a house my church owns and they have been excellent - great advice, good communication without being too pushy, did everything they said they would when they said they would. I would readily recommend Charters Estate Agents. They found a buyer within days of my home being put on the market, the offer was over the asking price and from that point on the process was very smooth. My main contact was with Gemma, the head of Sales Progression, who ensured that everything proceeded smoothly and proactively kept me up-to-date. This meant that if I had any questions I had a named person who knew the sale inside out. I couldn't be happier with the service I was offered.
