GoogleNo communcation whatsoever - Things seemed great initially.
I travelled over an hour to meet Nikki at the rental property on a very hot day on 20th June 2024. We got on really well and got chatting during the viewing in which I was really happy and pleased with it. I submitted an application request the same day and also asked some additional questions regarding the property.
Nikki came back to me the next day and advised she had to get in touch with the landlord and she would get back to me regarding my questions in a few days.
The communication just completely fell off at this point. Heard nothing for a week, I chased it up with another email and again heard nothing or had no response for another week.
After 2 long weeks, I had a response back from Nikki apologising stating she had not been in the office, asking if I was still interested and if I can send over my last 3 wage slips.
My original questions that I had asked and that I was waiting an answer for from the landlord had not been answered. I responded the same day stating I was still interested (even though I wasn’t impressed with the speed of the communication) and still sent through my wage slips with my questions again.
Nikki responded the next day thanking me and that she will be in touch today. (This was my last correspondence or response from Dunedin)
Another 10 days went by not hearing anything, at this point I just thought, what would happen if I was actually renting a property and had a leak or a problem, I would be stuck as there’s no basic communication whatsoever.
Out of curiosity, I visited the property on rightmove where I had originally seen and enquired about the property to see that it had been taken off and removed…. No email, call or decency to advise me why or what had happened.
I felt that this was extremely unprofessional and terrible that I had heard nothing, especially after I had sent my wage slips across which is my personal information and heard nothing back from this. I wasn’t very happy at all and was left feeling disappointed. Where has my information been stored and who has this?
I sense this is very common with this letting agents and whilst I’m still on the hunt, I will avoid Dunedin completely. Since then, I have dealt with different letting agents and it has been the complete opposite.
Dunedin, please do better!

GoogleA despicable company. Avoid!
As someone who has run businesses internationally for the last 12 years and a landlord myself, I have never come across a letting agency as unprofessional and badly managed.
From general bad communication to setting disingenuous traps for tenants to stiff them for bills the landlord knowingly neglected to pay. The landlord of course no matter how utterly clueless, is their client who they must keep satisfied even if achieved at the tenants expense. They also have an extreme problem with how they manage client data which I experienced personally, but have not yet decided how I wish to deal with.
I must mention that Nikki who we dealt with occasionally carries out her role reasonably well. Even commented herself how particular situations had been handled pathetically by both landlord and Dunedin, so perhaps as often is the case the problem stems from further up the chain of command.
In any case if you are a landlord considering your options for a letting agent or a tenant looking to rent do yourself a favour and avoid Dunedin lettings at all costs.
