FacebookI am a landlord who started off on the right foot with this estate agent in 2011 for helping me let out my property. I was fairly naive in picking up on the capabilities of their employees and found out the hard way. I had my tenants report that the tenancy fees on the website vs. the amount quoted in person was different and this was flagged to the estate agents to be rectified when being badgered to pay the higher amount. I paid a fee for rent collection each year yet 50% of the time the rent was delayed coming into my account without any communication of why the delays occurred. Further to this, when I requested to stop paying rent collection fees the company worked very hard to maintain their cash flows by charging me the same fee for the tenancy renewal. Mr David Hatch can provide his excuses for maladministration as much as he wishes but in the end he will loose his customers. So one advice Mr Hatch, I recommend that you concentrate on retaining your clients and employ staff who can actually do their job! P.S. Thank you for filing a county court for the outstanding tenancy fees while you were 'investigating' my complaint - highly professional on your part! You will be hearing from me shortly.

GoogleI have made an enquiry about the property and got back by email and a phone call. On the phone call I’ve provided all the information, arranged the house viewing for Thursday and was told I will receive the confirmation email. After not receiving the confirmation email I call the number provided 2 hours before the viewing and they tell me there is no viewing for this house under my name. The lady on the phone was not pleasant and slightly rude, had to ask her to be nicer. Afterwards she said that the tenants were working from home today and the viewing had to be cancelled, so no one let me know about it until I called them.
Terrible experience at the early stages, would not want to rent or buy with this company and I don’t recommend for anyone.

GoogleThe agent arrived late to the property we were viewing. We were let in by the current tenants who began an impromptu tour of the property.
A few minutes later, the agent arrived and entered the property without a face covering. He said hello to us before talking to the current tenants in a foreign language.
The current tenants continued their tour whilst the agent hovered and made occasional remarks (some of these in a foreign language).
The agent made a strange comment about Polish women and mentioned that his ex was Polish. Was this an attempt to build rapport? It didn't work.
After finishing our viewing, we asked to know if the landlord accepts pets because we have a cat. The agent failed to give a straight answer. He said we must first make an offer for the property, and then he'll write us a recommendation which the landlord can accept or reject.
We can't make an offer on any property without first knowing that it meets our requirements.
I sent an email to their office to find out if the landlord does accept pets. The reply I got was a template-style reply asking us to make an offer and provide info about our salary, move-in date and so on.
Alex Neil is the only agent we've come across that requires an offer to be made to find out basic information about a rental. The knowledge of whether pets are allowed or not is as basic as it gets. Alex Neil have failed to impress us with the conduct of their agent and the strange requirement of making an offer to find out if pets are allowed.

GoogleCan anyone recommend a lawyer? Unbelievable company I would suggest no landlord or Tenant use them.
We have been so badly treated in the one year we lived there. They have not looked after the landlords property or us.
It's not just the deposit we want back now. In addition we will make a far higher claim for their neglect to keep the property safe from electrical hazards and harassment/emotional stress.
The list of violations is endless.
The last insult was when we hired there end of tenancy cleaning company, paid Alex Neil £430.
The end of tenancy is full of outright lies. Even making claims about it not being Clean!
