GoogleThis is an honest review of my experience with Peter Alan. I've been trying to help someone I know get compensation from Peter Alan, because they left her without a washing machine for months. When they finally replaced it, they dumped the old machine outside (leaving the tenant to deal with it - see attached photo) and they installed the new machine so badly it flooded her kitchen and a neighbouring flat. My friend had to pay to use a laundrette for many months because of this. Peter Alan has only offered £100 in compensation, and when we contacted them arguing that she was owed more, they were extremely rude to us. I hope things improve but at this moment I cannot recommend them as a letting agent, as I don't think they have their tenants' interests at heart.

GooglePeter Alan as an agent is amazing. They helped me secure a better apartment through one of their staff by name HANNAH which i am very grateful to have. Hannah response to resolve any queries is amazing and quick. They are truly the best Estate Agent i have met….

TrustpilotDo not use for property management!

TrustpilotPoor service
Poor service. I have rented out several properties- the inventories are all 'good' despite newly furnished, new fixtures and fitting, no evidence of that written. I pay £180 each for the service including check in which has never been done and been caught out several times with the DPS. The inventories ar not worth the paper they are written on

TrustpilotUnconsciously incompetent
We’ve viewed 2 properties that Peter Alan advertised for sale recently in Penarth and Cowbridge. The first house was sold by ‘modern auction’. We didn’t have the opportunity to bid because we were informed on our viewing the auction would be open for 2 weeks. It was actually open for 2 days and started 2 days before they said it would start, leaving under 24 hours for independent research (the property was 600m from a sewer which the agent did not mention on viewing - thanks Google!). We repeatedly tried to call the office to ask questions, but it went to voicemail. Calls would be returned 24-48 hours later. The auction house were helpful but PA were a hinderance. The second property we did bid on and were ultimately unsuccessful. While naturally disappointed, the level of service would have been more appropriate in a mobile phone shop. The ‘fake it til you make it’ presentation style was obvious and annoying. We were forced to have a call with their in-house mortgage adviser, something we did not need or want (our offer had not been accepted - saving them time but wasting ours), and was a amateurish cross selling tactic, which is not required when buying a property. It wouldn’t surprise me if it created internal biases when communicating with sellers (an additional commission is paid on a new mortgages that inflates Peter Alan's payment but the seller does not benefit). The ‘sales negotiators’ are scripted, inexperienced and unhelpful. If you’re buying new a house, PA Black are a necessary evil and good luck to you. Don’t be fooled by the ‘premium’ (Black) branding - it simply means the house you are buying is above a certain value. If you’re selling a house, be warned. We were told conflicting information on several occasions. We’ve been ‘looked after’ by condescending sales staff (think young David Brent’s) and potential buyers should triple check any information they consider important.

TrustpilotPeter Alan-Head Office
I have privately renting my properties for several years, it got to a point where Things were getting on top me so I made the decision to pass the properties onto Peter Alan to manage….. hands down the best thing I’ve done, they were amazing from start to finish explaining the changes with the existing Tennant’s and new lines of communication etc Added bonus any maintenance has been liaised directly to their head office, and dealt with promptly and efficiently with both Jordan Knill,Carole Shepard and their team orchestrating all lines off maintenance from start to finish. Hats off to you both you’ve done an amazing job to date, keep up the good work!

TrustpilotPeter Alan Monmouth are fantastic!
We made our first house purchase through Peter Alan Monmouth. We had been searching for well over a year and had a sale fall through with another estate agent. It had been an incredibly stressful process until we finally found our beautiful home. All of the staff were fantastic. We were kept up to date regularly and everyone went above and beyond to make sure we finally got our dream home. I’m very greatful to all involved for getting us over the finish line. A big thank you especially to Charlotte, Ryan and Sinead. Can’t recommend them highly enough 😁

TrustpilotAlbany road cardiff
Albany road cardiffReally can't thank this branch enough, within a month of Nicola calling out to look at my late parents house & letting me know how much it would roughly go for on sale, she was professional but also caring & lovely to chat with explained all options, I decided to go with this branch as they really do care about you, also spoke to Paige a few times on phone who again was warm & caring, within less than to weeks on market another lovely lady called Hailey phoned to say they had people interested again she was so caring even though I was in shock & still am to be honest. Another phone call to say everything was on track & have a buyer again from Hailey on phone, I honestly cannot thank each & everyone at this branch for all they have done to ease the stress of the sale at such a hard time. Would highly recommend this branch because In my opinion they care about people a lot. So happy with my choice. Thank each & everyone of you so much.Kind regardsTracey

TrustpilotTalbot Green branch
We’ve been house hunting for 5 months and have come across many estate agencies, Peter Alan’s staff in the Talbot Green branch rated very highly. They are extremely professional and on establishing our location preferences and house requirements quickly and effectively arranged viewings. Sophie did particularly well in matching our criteria with the house we have hopefully secured. She also answered comprehensively our queries about searches and getting a survey done. Joanne was punctual, polite and attentive when showing us the property, answering all the questions we posed. A good experience after some fraught one’s.

TrustpilotAppalling levels of pressure and Used Car Sales tactics at it's very finest
The most appalling levels of pressure to close a deal and levels of used car sales tactics I have ever imagined! Asking me now to file a complaint instead of allowing my 14 day right to cancelThe tenant was called twice requesting him to sign a tenancy agreement. When that failed, they called his wife an additional three times and she finally relented just to get them to stop calling. Interestingly, they stated in a text “Due to the unclarity of the situation and no communication the tenant has signed the contract. There was no communication with me as I was in bed with covid and phones were off to get rest, BUT they managed 5 calls to the tenant! One of which clearly stated they were not going to sign.“They also sent me this text “Hi Tony, the tenant has just told us that you have informed him we are no longer taking over and not to sign the contract? Please can you confirm to us what is going on, please? As we are at the point of sign-off. Thanks, Matt” SO as I was not able to confirm as I had switched off my phone to get rest from Covid, they harassed the tenant’s wife until she signed! Open question: Matt, is the first thing you should do when you have dug yourself into a hole? Stop Digging! Please contact me at Viscount Organs Wales for a full transcript of the text conversation and telephone recordings to verify all facts reported.61% 1 * negative reviews clearly show an issue here !

TrustpilotCaveat emptor indeed
If you're looking to buy 16 Austin Avenue, Bridgend, I am happy to share my survey/experience so that you don't waste your time to the tune of almost £600. I was the second buyer in six months who had attempted to purchase the property. The survey highlighted a number of serious issues totalling around £20k worth of work. The seller was not interested in negotiation and pulled the house from the market citing sudden health issues, only to relist less than a month later.Peter Alan Bridgend were totally useless. After having to get a different branch to chase them about whether my offer had been accepted or not, they then allowed the seller to lower the asking price after accepting my offer, and two days before issuing my Memo of Sale. I found this out via the internet, not the estate agent. They are supporting a seller who appears to have zero intention of legitimately selling the property.

TrustpilotStood up and too busy for buyer
I arranged a viewing in Swansea and drove from Bristol was running 10 minutes late advised the estate agent and was told if I'm not there 15 minutes after he would leave turned up in time was not there, also post was still in the door call the office was told he had gone to another appointment meaning he had never left me enough time to view the property in the first place don't believe you actually even turned up extremely poor service when called the office wasted a two hour drive. Rude when I call the office saying it was my fault even though I explained and cold when in traffic. Lack of care would not consider buying from this agent at all I advise you to look at the other reviews as well

GoogleI had an extremely disappointing experience with peter alan albany road. I started the rental process for a property on 18th February, submitted all the required documents, and even paid the holding deposit. Despite waiting patiently for weeks, they only informed me today that the landlord has rented the property to someone else.
To make matters worse, I noticed that the rent on their website was originally listed as £1050 but was suddenly reduced to £1000 today, without any transparency or prior communication. This entire process has been a complete waste of my time, and the lack of professionalism and communication is unacceptable.
This is a clear violation of tenant rights and raises concerns about their business practices. As per the Tenant Fees Act 2019, a holding deposit is meant to secure a property, and agencies must handle it fairly. The way this situation was handled was completely unprofessional, unethical, and unacceptable.
I would strongly advise others to be cautious when dealing with this agency, as they do not respect tenants’ time or commitments. Holding deposits should mean something, and the way they handled this situation was highly unprofessional.

I want to view a house they're advertising at the Morriston branch. Been calling them for 3 days, 4/5 calls each time when I can, as I'm at work and they don't answer. I've given up. I'll pass on the property, so if you're selling with them, take note.

I have been renting in different places over the years due to my work.By far Rhys has topped every letting agent I've come across.
When the announcement got made and lockdown was introduced panic started! I think it was an hour after the announcement and I received a phone call from Rhys re-assuring me that everything will be fine. It was exactly what I needed.
Thank you Rhys Highly recommendPositiveResponsiveness, Professionalism

GoogleIf you're looking for an estate agent, go and meet Rhys Chapman, he is the man you need to talk to when it comes to properties.
I can't speak highly enough of Rhys chapman at Alan Peter. I would 100% recommend him to anyone looking for a great service, communication and support.
In the long process of finding a home, we had to deal with a lot of estate agents. Most of them just don't care.
Rhys was very different and he does things differently- that personal touch that is often lacking in estate agencies. You can see it just from his interactions with the landlord. He would go beyond in order to offer an outstanding customer service.
I can only say that it was absolute pleasure to work with Rhys. His professional approach, market knowledge, listening skills and making things happen even when almost impossible allowed me to find the right place.-My whole experience was exceptional.
If you're looking for a property, there is no better service than Rhys Chapman at peter Alan. He is the best and he will be such a delight to deal with.
I can strongly recommend Rhys Chapman if you are in need of finding your next house.
Good luck and Many thanks.PositiveResponsiveness, Quality, Professionalism

One star is generous, as I cannot select a lower rating. I would not recommend this estate agency for selling a property. As a first-time seller, my experience was very disappointing. The value of my property was significantly overestimated and the property did not sell.

GoogleAbsolutley appalling estate agents on every level. I have bought properties over the years from 'Darlows, Peter Mulchay, Taylors, and MGY.... yet I can say with some confidence that Peter Alan are by far the most useless, uniterested, manipulative, lazy, and incompetant agents I have ever had to deal with. Don't beleive a word these people say to you.... if indeed they do actually communicate with you at all as they seem to 'not' want to communicate with anyone at all...? If you value your own sanity...DON'T buy a property through these people.

TrustpilotAbsolute shambles from start to finish
Absolute shambles from start to finish. Went to purchase a house from them the Agent had no knowledge of the property at all he turned up late. Made an offer they told me the property was mine then told me other people had offered too. I then spoke to Mark the manager of Bridgend office who then lied and tried to bully me into using their solicitors and it would edge my bets in getting the property!!! he said the vendor had said that they would go with the person who uses their legal team! they told me an estimate of £1,500 They tried to encourage a bidding war and no communication whatsoever was disguising how they treat people.
