If i could give 0 stars i would
If i could give 0 stars i would. Absolutely awful to deal with, going over issues with them repeatedly with no resolutions. Wrong information on their systems. Rent arrears for a rent increased i was not aware of. If you can help it, avoid using them at all costs for your own well being.

Nice people, tardy service...
We used their Canton (Cardiff) office to market our apartment in Cardiff Bay for rental. It started off fairly well with good tenants sourced etc. However, their Lettings Dept is abysmal with returning calls, reverting on time with e-mails, and, in some cases, not even bothering to reply at all. Despite them providing written quote for services requested by ourselves, they tried to invoice more, for which we corrected them, and they apologised. Then we receive the invoice, and they deduct additional charges. We have since drafted an e-mail to them, requesting a credit to our account and to commit to their quote. Let's see if they get this right. All in all, a very tiresome experience.

Unprofessional and underhand
The Property Ombudsman is next on my list - but first......We have never had such shocking service in our quest to buy a house marketed by the Porthcawl branch. My husband and I found a house after searching for months for a property we felt good about. With an agreement in principle and our own mortgage adviser which I made Peter Alan aware of we made an offer which wouldn’t be passed on to the vendor until I had my offer ‘qualified’. I understand this to be in the interests of the vendor and would entail confirmation of an AIP and proof of deposit. What I didn’t expect was the bad feeling caused by them asking me to send bank statements, credit card statements wage slips etc etc so they could pressure me into taking out a mortgage with them! I refused these sales tactics, causing such bad feeling that my mortgage adviser had to ‘warn them off’. It eventually turned out that our offer of the full asking price was allegedly matched by another buyer and Peter Alan had to leave the decision of who to sell to to the vendor. Let’s just say I knew that it wouldn’t be us - and it wasn’t - even though we viewed and offered the day before the other buyer. It was more likely somebody who had agreed to use their mortgage services. Of course they could never admit that and even if that wasn’t the case I think some ‘gentle persuasion’ by Peter Alan to the vendor of who to sell to was applied in light of the bad feeling that had been caused between them and us. Of course they could never admit that either. Stay away from them or at the very least be prepared. House buying should be an exciting time and nothing like the nightmare we were subjected to.

Company is a real disappointment
Company is a real disappointment. Being a landlord for over fifteen years and having to deal with first non paying tenant, Peter Alan have in effect stopped providing me with any service. Staff seem to come and go, they keep asking you to contact the generic email address to which it can take up to ten days to respond! When someone does eventually respond they appear to not understand the issue which has been going on for over three months. Will not be dealing with this company again as i now have to go it alone to try and mediate with the tenant. Really poor customer service

Megan Cummings the letting manager at Peter Alan is a…
Megan Cummings the letting manager at Peter Alan is a useless sack of body fluids, the regional manager Benjamin Jones is just as bad, he seems too scared to call you back or just too lazy too do his job. Who at Peter Alan is employing these goons?? When i call these things i sometimes wonder if ive got a crossed line with Fraggle Rock, I have never dealt with such a fraudulent, lying, useless bunch of morons as Peter Alan before. Landlords avoid Peter Alan at all costs. Below is a few of the many issues i have had with Peter Alan1)Peter Alan lie to Landords about tenants financial circumstances just so Landlords have to pay them the £400 tenant find fee. Peter Alan told me the tenants rent was guaranteed by Cardiff Council and then moved in someone who didnt pay. When you complain to Peter Alan that you are not receiving the rent theyPeter Alan said was guaranteed Peter Alan just cancel the management of the property with immediate effect just so they dont have to deal with it.2) Peter Alan estate agents withheld rent money from me and i had to issue legal paperwork to Peter Alan to get the money that was rightfully mine.3) Megan Cummings at Peter Alan refused to post out the keys for my properties for 6 months4) Peter Alan lost the keys for one of my properties and I had to issue a county court summons to reclaim the cost of the locksmith Peter Alan refused to repay this for over 6 months and Peter Alan estate agents only paid after i issued a court summons.4) Peter Alan dont pay their subcontractors who do work for them for 6 months.5) When offers of rent payments are made Peter Alan dont call back to arrange the payments leaving the Landlord out of pocket.Landlords do not trust Peter Alan with your properties.

Sally has been helping us with our property purchase for some time now, due to the high demand in properties, she has been very thorough, and always letting us know when new properties come to the market. She is always informing us of any change in the property market and always asking for updates on our criteria. Sally is very professional and actually cares in what we want.PositiveResponsiveness, Professionalism

THE MOST DISHONEST AND INCOMPETENT…
THE MOST DISHONEST AND INCOMPETENT GROUP OF PEOPLE I HAVE EVER DEALT WITH...Recently saw a flat and arranged a viewing with Peter Alan, 30 Churchill Way, Cardiff, CF10 2DZ I was driving 200 miles to see the property and then after viewing I was happy to pay six months’ rent in addition to a bond £5800 they requested and signed the contract but Daffyd Williams who was carrying out the viewing told me to drive back home and in the meantime they will contact the landlord to discuss about it and once I arrived home I can pay over the phone and also they will email me all the papers to sing and that's all. I even asked him and was willing to pay the deposit right there to take the flat off the website but he refused and I was told they’ll be waiting for me to get home and pay for it.I had to cancel a couple of more appointments with different agencies on the same day as I trusted his words and I was definitely sure the flat was mine.I was driving back home again 200 miles and called them to make a payment but they said unfortunately the property has been reserved while I was viewing and giving me a bunch of excuses that it’s a very busy month and there are a lot of students calling to rent a house which has obviously shown lack of management. ARE YOU JOKING????? You made me drive 400 miles and cancelled 2 other viewings and you knew I definitely wanted the flat and ready to make a full 6 months payment but you did not even wait for me to get home and pay for it??I emailed Peter Alan head office and made a complaint but they never admitted they were wrong and also; they did not try to sort the matter out. I AM NOT DONE YET. I will chase the matter up and take legal action against them to recover losses.

We had Rhys show us around a property in Splott from the Albany Rd branch. Even though we decided that the property was not for us, he was very accommodating with viewing availability for my busy work schedule and set up the viewing very quickly. He even let my partner view the property later in the evening when he had finished work (as he works in Newport). Rhys was very professional and friendly and would use him again if we ever need to find another property!

I had a great experience with this branch of Peter Alan. I am someone with a long term health condition which means that although I work I'm in receipt of a disability benefit and therefore help with housing costs. I'd found it very difficult to find agencies or landlords that would consider me or allow me to view properties. Aneurin, who handled my letting, was wonderful. He treated me very fairly and put my case over to the landlord of the flat I was interested in. I'm now happily settling into a new home which wouldn't have been possible without people willing to put in a little extra effort on my behalf. Many thanks to Aneurin, and all the staff at the branch. They were organised, professional, patient and genuinely helpful from start to finish. Highly, highly recommended.

Rhys Chapman has been excellent in helping us sort out our property, he’s gone above and beyond to make sure we have been happy with everything all along and has also been very helpful in sorting out any issues we have encountered! He has always been contactable despite ofcourse being busy with other client's, and has always come back quickly with any questions we have had! Highly recommended! Also a mention to Aneurin who has also been fantastic in dealing with us! A great team there who have worked hard to secure us our first home, thanks guys!

Although I cannot speak for Peter Alan as a whole, Aneurin Lewis (who dealt with our letting) was fantastic. We had a short time to organise getting into a new property and he made in happen within a week. Communication regarding updates and next-steps was great, he was professional, personable, and made the moving in process as easy and straight forward as possible. The paperwork and inventory etc. was thorough and fair, it was clear that the property has been well managed. It is nice to have a such a positive start to a living in a new place. For this, I would thank and recommend Aneurin.

Moved from Southampton to Cardiff and it has been seamless with the help of Rhys and the team at Peter Alan. Anything I needed at anytime of the day Rhys has helped me with and I am very grateful. Reported a small issue with property and within minutes someone had been instructed to come to fix it. Really pleased with service at Peter Alan and their head office/maintenance.

Please read and avoid this agency
I’m honestly disappointed with the service provided by Peter Alan. They have consistently lied to both landlords and tenants, creating a web of deceit that has caused significant financial hardship. They recommend unaffordable rent prices to landlords, pushing tenants into dire financial situations.Peter Alan no longer advocate for long-term tenancies, preferring instead to increase rents annually. This approach is purely profit-driven and disregards the well-being of tenants. In our case, they falsely claimed that our landlord was struggling to pay their mortgage, when in fact, the property was bought outright. This was a blatant attempt to justify an unnecessary rent increase. The agency is exploiting the high demand for rental properties, contributing to the growing issue of homelessness. They show no regard for the welfare of either tenants or landlords, focusing solely on their commission. They are causing misery in people’s lives.

Cannot rate Peter Alan enough from…
Cannot rate Peter Alan enough from start to finish they have been an excellent estate agency. Arranging visits to view properties were done quickly and arranged around a convenient time for us. Communication was made via email and over the phone which made contacting the estate agents easy with any queries answered within a few hours. All staff were extremely helpful, however Jess was our main point of call who was informative and very helpful. We chose to go with Peter Alan’s solicitors which were Howell’s solicitors which I believe was the best move as it enabled the process to move quickly and smoothly. Within less than 4 weeks of us putting in an offer, all paperwork is complete and we shall be receiving the keys in the next 2 weeks. We cannot believe within the space of 6 weeks we will have become home owners!

The Tenancy has gone through as…
The Tenancy has gone through as expected. The original market rate based on their analytics was significantly below the rental achieved - which was closer to the local properties. Peter Alan also switched the utility supplier without my knowledge which is now causing a heap of issues. Readings at the date of cutover are to be supplied - not sure what were given by Peter Alan as it was three weeks prior to the tenant moving in.British Gas seems to think I supplied the request to change over - I did not. It's an erroneous transfer which I am now taking up with British Gas, and OFGEM if required. I will also complain to Peter Alan about this practice which I think is unethical and if not happy I will contact the property Ombudsman.

A group of legal thieves
A group of legal thieves! I wouldn't employ the sales team to tie my shoelaces never mind sell my house!I know estate agents have a reputation for charging lots for very little, but this lot take the biscuit! Hindsight is wonderful, but if you are selling a house beware of the contract they offer you. I was stupidly duped into a fixed price sales contract, which worked out at just short of 4% of my house value! Being my first time selling a house I wish I had read up more beforehand! I was also sold a sole seller contract, which meant I'd have to pay the full fixed fee if I was to sell the house with a different estate agent WITHIN 6 MONTHS!They did however, get an offer within a few days of the house being on the market, for the full asking price. "Too good to be true?!" I hear you ask. Well, one dodgy damp survey and a dodgy quote later the magical buyers are requesting 10k be knocked off the agreed price of 70k. Now, having learned a bit of a lesson about jumping in two-footed from the initial contract, I took my time with this one. The "sales negotiator" (a term a use lightly, because I witness absolutely ZERO negotiating), advised me to get a second opinion (something she later denied). So I forked out for an independent survey, showing the surveyor the dodgy report. Lo and behold, the report and quote to repair comes back at a fraction of the price. Now, the "negotiator" wouldn't accept my second survey, and insisted I should drop my price, something I could not do, partly die to the extortionate fixed selling fee.Safe to say, the sale fell through due to the buyers not budging on their 10k request, and not a single ounce of "negotiation" in site. After this, I decided to stay put and take my house off the market. Then came the money grabbing.I recieved a letter asking to pay for an EPC certificate that they obtained as part of the sale (because I pulled the house off the market I was expected to recover their costs). This letter also delightfully reminded me that if I didn't pay within a certain timescale, they reserved the right to add interest onto the requested 90 something pounds. 2 months after I've paid, I'm still yet to recieve the EPC or any other correspondence. On the bright side, I didn't have to part with the best part of £3k for some woeful service.Stay away from Peter Alan at all costs!
