However, the standout reason I would choose Prospect again, and wholeheartedly recommend them, is Bernadette. If you are considering to rent with them, please don’t! They have absolutely no interest to help tenants as soon as they get the contract signed and everything will be done in favor of the landlord. If you’re a landlord, I presume you’d be better off. Absolutely no flexibility, no response or basic respect for a paying tenant, unfortunately trapped in a 24 month contract with them, can’t wait to leave them for good. If you are researching a bit, you’ll know that tenants aren’t treated well but most landlords have had good experiences with them.

We bought a house and our agent, Bernadette Martin, went the extra mile to support us all the way through the process. As first time buyers,we needed a lot of support, extra explanations of the steps of the purchase process, terminology.She was very professional, we communicated well and everything went very smoothly for us. Bernadette liaised between us and the vendor , she was also in touch with our mortgage advisor and lender and that spared us of a lot of headache. We were more than satisfied with the agency' s services and we are very grateful to Bernadette for her excellent service and attitude. We really felt looked after.

While the rental process itself was smooth, our experience changed once the property manager got involved. We often felt more like we were being managed on behalf of the landlord rather than supported as tenants. As this was our first time renting in the UK (after nearly two decades in Dubai), it was disappointing to feel dismissed rather than mediated with fairness. Kate Smith, in particular, often forwarded messages directly from the landlord without any context or effort to resolve the issues, especially during more sensitive exchanges. It left us feeling quite unsupported. Despite multiple requests for early termination of our contract after we purchased our own home, which left us managing both mortgage and rent for nearly four month, there was no attempt from the agency to help negotiate terms. So, while everything is smooth when things go well, anyone contracting under the agency should be prepared to navigate challenges alone if things go south.

Fantastic service from start to finish. Daniel Abrieu started the process, visiting us and putting the process in place. How could we not instruct Prospect! Liam did the viewings, answering the questions correctly having done his research! Always providing feedback and updates in such a friendly but professional manner. We trusted him 100%, to try and sell our property and to leave it secure. After sales care was done by Bernadette Martin. Wow, is she good at her job!! Our leasehold property was complicated and there were a few sticking points. If it wasn't for Bernadette keeping me fully updated, I honestly believe the sale would have fallen through. She was excellent at being the go-between, obtaining outstanding items from the buyers solicitor and then feeding back to the buyers side with the progress. (Yes, this is the Solicitors job, but when she doesn't do it, you need a Bernadette). Bernadette you are a complete star, thank you. I have no negative feedback about Prospect Reading. Thank you one and all.

Beth Murphy was my point of contact at Prospect and whilst we didn’t buy or sell our property through the agency I have to say she was one of the best agents I dealt with. Beth really understood and took onboard what we were looking for and she would keep in contact with me enough for me to know that I hadn’t been forgotten about but not in an overbearing way - we were also able to pick up where we left off from the previous conversation and she was genuinely delighted when I was able to update her to say we had sold and also found something. Whilst I understand there are sales targets and KPI’s… unlike with other agencies I never felt like Beth called just to tick a box or sent me an email about a house that was completely unsuitable just to say she had sent it to X number of people. As a busy mum of three when you are looking for property you need to have agents like Beth who won’t waste your time, will give you measured mature and honest information about the market and houses and just generally appreciate what life can be like. I really enjoyed speaking to Beth - an asset to your company.

Beth Murphy - the best!

We met Beth at our first viewing a few months ago. She was friendly and extremely knowledgeable about every property she showed us, more than once working later than her normal hours to accommodate our timescales. We did see quite a few properties (!) but Beth was never impatient and made us feel that we needed to be sure it was right for us. Then she efficiently got the ball rolling with solicitors and regularly chased up each party. Although I have no complaints about my selling agents, I just wish I had placed my property for sale with Beth at Prospect!
