GoogleI moved into my bought home in June 2022, I need to say this as if you rent, you are not treated inclusive. Needed some assistance with the properties Payne & Co was renting next to me, tenants fab. The woman who was dealing with the renting side was rude, old fashioned, attitude problem and thought she could talk to me like I was nothing. This is the worst estate agent in my whole life that I have come across. My neighbours have water leaking down their chimney into the lounge as I know this as have had a wood burner installed and told by this woman at Payne & Co that she will not take any action to prevent they side of the chimney. The window's next door to myself are broken and rotted completely. These are historic building that are locally listed and should be looked after as part of our history. Who ever own's these properties have left them to rot & have a duty of care to tenants. Hence why it is called Pain & Co.
Dear Collette Thank you for your note. The company remember the conversation we had with you in the summer on the telephone the day your log burner installer arrived to begin his work. It was helpful to have his input into a defect noted whilst he was up at chimney level. I think the cause of the frustration you experienced that day was your installer wishing to make an immediate start, conflicting with our need to get client instructions before any alterations could be made to our client’s property, as the works you were planning to carry out were on a party wall. Our client’s surveyor was spoken to that day who advised that a party wall agreement would be required.

GoogleHaving just completed the sale of our property Limpsfield after having lived in the same house for over 40 years it was a pleasure to deal with Payne & Co, a truly professional firm without whose help, assistance and calming influence together with their ability to get things done, I doubt we would have had a successful sale and in turn secured the property we wanted to purchase close to our family in Hampshire. FacebookI cannot recommend Payne &Co highly enough! I’d had my flat on the market with another local agent for 6 months with only a dribble of interest. Within days of transferring to Payne &Co there was a steady stream of viewings, with a good offer within a couple of weeks. Throughout the process Jason, Karen and the team were unfailingly helpful and responsive. I only wish I had understood the importance of selecting the best agent right from the beginning. I will definitely be going straight to them next time!

GoogleSpeaking as a recent buyer who wasn't a client of Payne and Co, all I can say is that I am in no doubt about who I will be using when we eventually sell this house. Paynes are extremely responsive, professional, and easy to deal with. I dealt with Karen Hesketh and Stuart Taylor, both of whom are absolutely great at what they do, but I was very impressed with the professionalism of everyone I spoke to in the course of the purchase. A very thorough recommend. I can't speak for value as I wasn't their client, but they managed to get a complex chained sale managed expediently at the height of COVID, so I'm confident they're well worth any fees. There have been regular inspections of the property to ensure there are no issues and any time I've reported something it's been dealt with swiftly, efficiently and effectively. GoogleWe sought out 3 local agents to tender for the sale of our property, and by far the most professional in approach, character and knowledge was Stuart from Payne and Co. We had some hiccoughs during the sale, through no fault of the agent, but Stuart and the team kept us fully informed throughout the process, offering advice and recommendations, and also acting as a solid intermediary when it came to our onward purchase which turned a bit iffy at the top of the chain. I would recommend Payne and Co to others looking to sell in the area. You will get a personal, knowledgeable service from a team you will be happy to be representing you, who will act with integrity and friendliness at all times.
