GoogleAlexander and Co to the rescue!!
My family and I had a new home all set to move in to when, in a roundabout turn of events, our prospective landlord decided not to let his property and withdrew a mere seven days before we had to move out.
To say we held a fear of being genuinely homeless doesn’t adequately describe how we felt at that time but like Angels swooping in from the heavens, Zach and Amy pulled the rabbit out of the hat!
They found for us a truly wonderful and centrally located, 4 bedroom home that happily accommodated us and our two dogs! I know. Impressive right?! We are utterly delighted with their prompt communication throughout the process and their remarkably friendly ‘can-do’ attitude.
They are both quite literally miracle workers and their business is very lucky to have them both!
Sending you both our warm gratitude and thanks Guys
You’re the best ✌️😎PositiveResponsiveness, Quality, Professionalism, Value

TrustpilotAwful
Seemed friendly and knowledge at first, but so thirsty for business they have little regard for customer service. Please AVOID, poor service, poor sales progression, Poor communication, poor negotiation.Moving is stressful enough, we had an Estate agent on our driveway asking our movers when we are leaving whilst we were packing -even within the agreed time of vacating. Alexander also provided the keys to our buyers before we had vacated the property causing us additional stress and conflict. Awful and slippery! Never, ever again!

GoogleAlexander & Co is far and away the best letting agency I’ve encountered in Norwich as I’ve been looking for a long-term rental property after relocating to England from abroad. Everyone who I have spoken with at the agency have very clearly communicated UK renting laws and have helped me navigate the local property market. If there was an option for six stars, I would absolutely give it to Catherine and Thomas who have gone above and beyond to help me find properties that suit my individual needs, have taken ample time to address all my questions and have made me feel as though they are looking out for my best interests.

GoogleEveryone who I've contacted in Alexander & Co have been very quick to respond, never had to chase anything up, very professional and organised and also of them were very friendly and approachable people. They helped me finding a flat as a first time solo-renter and everything went so smoothly. They ensured all the appropriate information and documents were sent over in very good time, and were able to provide an answer to any questions I've had. Definitely recommend, best estate agents I've dealt with!
Highly Recommended!!

TrustpilotPlease avoid using this Estate agent
Please avoid using this Estate agent. They are bunch of ignorant people who do not know what they are doing. We had a guy called Mark who showed us the Property we bought. Surely when showing around he should've done his homework and checked everything with the seller first. When showing us the property he hardly knew where anything was and said to us a few things were included in the property which we have later found out were not part of the sale. These items were part of the things that attracted us to the property. having spoken to the seller they advised the agents specifically knew these things were not included in the sale. When we had a little hiccup with our mortgage Mark was very ignorant and refused to help in speaking to the seller and quite abruptly said 'we can easily put the property back on the market'. He does not deserve to be in this role as he is not customer friendly. Estate agents should be smart and helpful and he was neither.

GoogleALEXANDER & CO. DISCRIMINATE AGAINST DISABLED PEOPLE.
My partner recently applied for a property managed by your letting agency. The entire process was basically complete - just waiting for approval from the landlord (all forms submitted etc.).
However, you resPonded to them the other day saying that they had been turned down for the house. This followed my partner stating that they have an assistance dog, which is to help with their health conditions. Alexander and Co. referred to this assistance dog as a pet - not inkeeping with the law as defined by the Equality Act 2010, which defines an assistance dog as an auxilliary aid in the same way as a wheelchair or walker.
When asked further as to why they had been turned down, Alexander and Co. stated that it was due to a "clash of personalities." There was no issue at all with the letting agent who showed my partner round the house and the landlord who was entirely personable, so first of all this is a clear lie. Additionally, they are commercial property managers, not trying to court each other...
Unless Alexander & Co. address this discrimination against people with disabilities by reviewing their choice to turn down my partner, if you are disabled or stand in solidarity with people who are disabled, DO NOT RENT FROM THIS UNPROFESSIONAL AND DISCRIMINATORY BUSINESS WITH NO KNOWLEDGE OF THE LAW.NegativeResponsiveness, Quality, Professionalism

GoogleIf you value your time and sanity stay away from Alexandre&Co. We had problems all throughout the process but since we really liked the property we decided to carry on, however the worst was still to come. THREE days before the day we were moving in (which also was the day we were singing the contract) they got in contact with us to tell us the landlord had decided to drop us despite having already agreed to everything on emails and phone calls (only thing left was signing the contract), having passed the checks, etc.. The reason? Apparently two people mean a lot more wear and tear of the furniture, which is the most ludicrous excuse I've ever heard in my entire life. How is this even legal I still wonder but there is no doubt it is immoral and unprofessional.

TrustpilotAwful attitude with urgent rental
Daughter was trying to rent a property from them, they couldn't be less helpful and miserable (Bicester office) ... the landlord had agreed a date, she signed her copy of the agreement, went through all the references, I was guarantor ..we both had to supply work contract, 3 payslips, reference from work and a credit check (more than I had to for mortgage) ... 4 days before date to move in the landlord apparently had changed his mind, they dud nothing to help us... the day they told us they were still asking for confidential information (he had informed them the day before)... I understand that people change there minds but all references were fine but no explanation, they had an attitude of couldn't caring less, dreadful process...daughter is devastated .. they all knew she was splitting up from her partner and needed this house in the village so the kids could remain at the school ... I will take up a formal complaint but it won't change anything these sort if folk really do give letting agents a bad name!!!

Myself and my husband viewed a property today through Alexander & Co, Aylesbury. Upon viewing the property, we met with a lady called Linda who was incredible !! She was so professional, with such a warm caring personality. Made us feel at such ease. We also dealt with Matt the sales manager who was amazing, giving us time and answering any questions we had in such a polite professional manner. Fantastic agency, highly recommend !!

TrustpilotAwful estate agent
In the beginning when they are finding properties for you this estate agents will behave so professional and act promptly however do not be deceived soon as you will have a problem with the property such as mould they will play the blaming game and act indenial. The estate agents will not care the health risk it posses and will brush everything under the carpet. I have raised a complaint since April 2024 and still the issue is not resolved. So when it comes to taking the deposit, essential first steps of getting the property they will behave so nice, then you will see the true service. Don't be fooled by the reviews they gather in the beginning when they find you the property. Think about it how is it someone has so many five stars 🌟 ratings.

Google5 stars well earned! From the moment we made contact with regard to the property being advertised to present Thomas (and Amy) at Alexander & Co have been faultless. They are efficient and responsive to all forms of contact. Always polite and helpful. All queries responded to with no delay. They have made the process of renting painless. Everyone we have had dealings with, from the lady who initially attended our first viewing (she was great!), the gentleman who attended for our second viewing, Amy on moving in day but most importantly poor Thomas who has been spammed by emails on a daily, are a credit to the company. On reporting initial snags located within the property a visit was arranged for the next day with the landlord. A very well deserved thank you and I would recommend you to anyone :)

GoogleI was living in a student accomodation with 3 other tenants, originally through Premier Properties. During our tenancy, Premier Properties were taken over by Alexander & Co, who we were now dealing with in terms of getting our deposit returned.
Our experience for getting our deposit back was nothing short of a horrible customer experience. We moved out of our property on August 1st. Our first issue was that when it came to deductions to our deposit, they tried to charge us for a dent in a door which had been present since we moved in. We had informed staff during multiple routine house inspections of this.
Another tenant received the "Checkout Inspection Report", and I replied to address the issue and to provide details of our final bills. I did this on August 15th. On August 27th, I still had no reply from Alexander & Co. I wrote another email expressing my concern, providing proof of final bills and asking to address the previous deduction. No response.
I called on August 30th as a follow-up to this email, to which we found it the landlord had dropped this issue. I was asked to provide evidence of final bills, despite doing this previously. As of this date, we had fulfilled all responsibilities required of us and had agreed an amount for the deposit to be returned. As per the "Tenancy deposit protection" webpage on the gov.uk website, "Your landlord must return your deposit within 10 days of you both agreeing how much you’ll get back." This was repeated in our tenancy agreement. This meant that our deposit had to be returned by September 8th.
I had no communication of any kind after providing my evidence. I emailed on September 3rd to ask how things were proceeding. No reply. I rang them on September 5th to see if I could get a direct response, to which I was told the deposit would be paid "today or tomorrow". I called on September 6th, and was told that it couldn't be done as the relevant people weren't in. This happened the next working day I called, and the next. I called 8 different times after September 5th, only to be told we were being paid soon without being paid, or that it would have to wait as people were out to lunch or busy. At one point they called us for our payment information, and it became clear that another tenant other than myself, the head tenant, would receive all the deposit, which goes against what the tenancy agreement states.
I gave up on calling them on September 11th, however another tenant decided to call them the next day. During that phone call, Alexander & Co told them that they had received no evidence of final bills being submitted, nor had they reached an agreement with the landlord. After this call that we had lost all trust of the estate agents, and I was incredibly shocked by the lack of professionalism or willingness to provide a positive customer service on their part.
Luckily when we signed our deposit with Premier Properties, it was protected by TDS (Tenancy Deposit Scheme). We made a claim through TDS on September 13th. On September 17th, we got a confirmation email that a dispute had been raised by TDS. The next day, Alexander & Co paid back our deposit and told us to remove the claim through TDS.
To summarise, after providing the required evidence to obtain our deposit, Alexander & Co did nothing for 19 days. The legal requirement is to pay back a deposit in 10 days. Upon receiving the dispute from TDS, they paid back in 1 day. This shows that they had no interest in catering to our needs, but saving their own hides or making money where they can.
To anyone considering using Alexander & Co, I highly recommend against it, as I do not believe they are a company with professional integrity or your best interests at heart.
To anyone with them at the moment, I recommend obtaining as much evidence as possible and to resolve your deposit quickly, otherwise using TDS or deposit protection equivalent to avoid cases like ours where deposits are returned 7 weeks after vacating the property with very little communicated.

GoogleWouldnt recommend for students. At the end of the tenancy they over charged extensively to try and make us pay for pre existing damages to the property. Only after getting parents and the student union involved did they admit to over charging us. Would strongly recommend students to look elsewhere as this company is clearly very exploitative to those they know have limited knowledge on renting.

Ishmam, it is a shame that you have felt it necessary to leave this review in consideration of the substantial evidence of the excessive damage that you and your housemates caused to the property that you rented.
As you have seen, we have extensive evidence of the condition that you felt it acceptable to return the property in as well as the contractors invoices for the remedial works. The fact that you, your housemates and guarantors have accepted the costs and agreed to make payment of the balance due, it would show that both costs and damages were/are correct.
All the best for the future nonetheless.
Regards,
Alexander & Co.
