I recently bought my new house through Martyn Gerrard and I couldn’t be happier. This was a very challenging chain but I felt like Fatmir Dedei has kept me up to date and managed it with honesty and fairness. I have heard from other parties above the chain that he was the main conduit throughout the process and I am sure the transactions would not have happened without his support. When we thought the transaction would fall through, Fatmir was practical and helped me consider a plan B while still working to enable completion within the chain. I appreciated also Fatmir being able to seek support from Martyn Gerrard’s directors who have promptly stepped in at key moments of the negotiations. Nick was instrumental during the price negotiation, demonstrating excellent skills in mediating between us and the seller. He communicated clearly and promptly throughout the process, making everything much smoother. He also kindly arranged an additional property viewing to address some of our concerns, which we really appreciated. Have worked with Martyn Gerard’s commercial and residential in various branches and have to say, pretty impressed all round. Craig Thompkins in particular we found to be straight forward, upfront and honest. No games, helpful and available. Recommended a cracking lawyer (Ushi from Layzells) who moved things along swiftly. Any time there were minor bumps in the road he jumped in to help smooth them over. Buying a property should be an arduous and stressful process, but with these guys it was pretty pain free. Had a great initial experience with Martin Gerrard , however , following on from signing our tenancy agreement, we were signed up to multiple things which we did not give consent for , going as far as providing our contact details to Octopus energy who tried to request my bank details and informing the water suppliers that our landlady ( who we live with) has moved out which was not the case. This brought stress to my landlady and ourselves who are first time renters, my landlady has health issues and also lives in the property with us and received calls requesting our tenancy agreement making it seem as if us the tenants that had made this request when we had no involvement/ wasn’t aware our details were shared this way. Our agreement is bills included, we would have no reason to source this privately. This is completely unnecessary and an unacceptable use of our data and has just left a bad taste in our mouths overall.
