Was shown around a few properties by Anthony. Gave plenty of info about the properties and was transparent. Really great and friendly host. Thanks for helping me find my new home

We have had an incredibly positive experience, first with Anthony at the viewing and now with Becky who has been so helpful in guiding us swiftly and efficiently through the various processes. Most appreciated!

I don't think there are any house agent that can be as good as Crookandblight in UK. If it is possible I will give them 20 stars. The staff (Ellie-Mai) that attended to me was very nice and friendly. Very fast in responding to my messages. I sincerely appreciate all the support I got from Ellie-Mai. The whole process was made very easy for me.Thank you. Please keep up the good work.

We’ve had a really positive experience with Crook and Blight. Becky, Holly, and Aimee in the office were fantastic, always quick to respond to our many questions and very flexible in arranging viewings around our schedule. …

Absolutely amazing experience with crook and blight to rent my house, they was amazing from start to finish, from first meeting Anthony who showed me around the house, to becky who dealt with everything in between and then back to Anthony …

Ellie-Mai was brilliant at organising our viewing. She was so flexible and it if it wasn’t for her being so accommodating we really would have missed out on this house. Will always recommend, thank you Ellie!

My partner and I had a viewing in Newport today with Anthony, who was very welcoming and had good knowledge of the property and area, knowing when to show us aspects of the property himself and when to let us wander freely, which was greatly appreciated. Anthony also gave us information about the buying process as first time buyers and was happy to answer any questions.
Hi Joseph. Thanks so much for a great review! We will pass on your compliments to Anthony and we wish you all the best for your property search. Take care

Tried letting my flat for 3 months, highly unprofessional team, unable to responsibility, not to be trusted. Handed the letting to another agency in Newport.

Had a few problems at the start, but they came through and were excellent, George showed us around the property we were interested in, and was very honest and did not try and cover any faults with the property in question and had all the answers for questions we asked.

I arrived minutes late for a viewing. My fault as it wasn't until I followed the sat nav that I realised I was in the same street, but the street was blocked off halfway way. Sadly I had no phone call to check if I was still arriving, and passed the estate agent at the end of street. If their vehicles were sign written I could have waved the guy down to stop him from leaving. The girl in the office was apologetic. I asked for the estate agent to be called back, but he had another appointment to attend. What could they do better? Call their prospective customers before leaving a venue rather than calling the office.
Chantelle, we do appreciate the feedback but from our point of view it does seem a harsh review. As you have said, it wasn’t our fault that you were late and it isn’t feasible to sign write cars just for these incredibly rare instances, many vendors actually appreciate the discretion of vehicles that aren’t sign written. We do wherever possible try to contact viewers before leaving however this isn’t always possible. Apologies for any misunderstandings and we wish you well with your house hunting, James Crook & Blight.

No issues with them until the landlord pulled out. Then they were unprofessional and quite frankly just rude. My situation was a bit tricky but unless they’re making money off you, they don’t care. Crook and blight is the perfect name for them. Response to reply: I think it is a fair review. When the application was rejected I fully understand why. However the fact that you started dodging my calls and not returning them as promised, is both unprofessional and rude. When I collected the refund, there was no attempt to talk about the application being rejected (which could have been done over the phone if you had the decency to return my calls) I was treated as an inconvenience. Also the fact you did not make any money off me is one of the points I originally mentioned, because that’s when you started being rude, when you weren’t going to profit. Nice attempt to save face though James :)
Hi Ieuan, We appreciate the feedback however do feel that the review is very unfair. We have a duty of care to protect our landlords and as your application was not acceptable, we could not recommend it and were fully supportive of the landlord’s position to reject it. As this is a public forum, we can’t discuss the case in any detail but as it was so quickly apparent that the application would not be successful, your payment was reimbursed and so we absolutely did not make money from your application, we couldn’t have been more fair. We wish you all of the best with your house hunting, James Crook & Blight

We are extremely disappointed by the poor communication shown by Crook and Blight. We have been given every excuse on why we couldn't move into the empty house we had been accepted for with reasons including that Alice had annual leave booked, the landlord isn't replying to emails to book for an inventory or legal checks for gas and electricity. We had been asking time and time again for a time frame on when this would be done as I have a Double Mastectomy Surgery this month. Even after all the hassle we told them we are still willing to wait and try arrange the checks so that my partner and I could be together during recovery. Cancelling us moving into the property last minute was very upsetting to us both as we have Austim. You have wasted our time with the multiple viewings we have gone to, measuring spaces, saving furniture for our first rental together. You have shown absolutely no care for our situation.

Can’t thank Becky & Anthony enough for the excellent service they have provided for my property, from the set up to the moving in. Would highly recommend for property management.

Crook and Blight caused nearly £600 of damage to my new brand van, when one of their staff dropped a 'for rent' sign from the top of a ladder. They have constantly fobbed me off and avoided communication. they once suggested that they might settle without going through their insurance. Since then they have refused to answer my emails and refuse to provide me with details of their public liability insurance. Their behaviour, and in particular the attitude of Richard Crook, has been appalling.
We feel that this review is totally incorrect. We appreciate that accidents can happen and are fully prepared to deal with them however when we asked for photographic evidence of the damage done we did not receive any photographs of the damage. The board contractor was adamant that he did not cause damage. We are fully insured and would happily pay for any damage caused if it was justified. We feel that this review is damaging to our reputation and are taking legal advice as the comment does not relate to our core business and is irrelevant other than it has been posted with a view to damage our long standing business reputation. We have been in business for over 40 years and have never shied away from taking our responsibilities seriously.

Avoid Crook and Blight at all cost!.... made a offer on a empty property after the offer was accepted Crook and Blight failed to mention that the property was subject to probate!... I found this out after doing alot of chasing myself only to be repeated told by Jane that it was all fine and probate was granted. On this information I sent the serveyor in and spent £450 on a home buyers report to then be told by my solicitors that in fact it had not been granted Crook and Blight had lied again!... this was after 6 weeks of chasing and content lying from the estate agents.... I eventually had enough and pulled out of the purchase. I message Richard Crook to I form him and to advise how unhappy I was at the way I had been fobbed off and lied to..for him not to even respond. They've even put the property straight back on the market with no probate so some poor other person will end up experiencing what I went through! Awful customer service...just after a sale and commission. I wouldn't trust them to sell a shed never mind a house!
The situation with this property was very difficult and quite tragic as quite a young person had died. Probate had been granted but part way through the transaction it came to light that there had been a mortgage on the property which put the sale into negative equity. This caused a substantial delay as the lender was slow and not particularly co-operative at first. We had no way of knowing this was going to happen as the Solicitors dealing with the case were also not aware, and until the transaction was well underway neither were the Solicitors acting for the Estate. Having two separate Solicitors also complicated matters. We are very sorry for the delays and that the buyer felt that could not wait any longer but these were matters completely outside our control, complicated by both circumstances and multiple Solicitors

We have moved house twice in the last 18 months. After initially buying a house that was being sold through Crook and Blight, we were so impressed by their service that for our next move we decided to put the sale of our house in their hands. The whole team was excellent. Richard Crook himself was very attentive when preparing the sale details and photographs of the house. The house was promptly advertised and a sale secured within a matter of weeks. The house we subsequently bought was also through Crook and Blight and we were kept closely informed of the progress of both our sale and purchase by Jane in the sales department. Whenever we phoned the office we were put through to the right person who was able to deal with our enquiry. We would certainly use them again.
Would love to say that we would be delighted to deal with the sale of your present property however we are well aware that you have bought a unique and most desirable home which you will be living in for many years to come. Thanks again for your custom over the years. Richard Crook

Moving to Newport was made easy thanks to Alice and other members of the team, she was very responsive and informative whenever we had any questions as it was our first time moving into a non-student property. Thanks! Luke
