When I started looking for my first home I was told it would be one of the most enjoyable experience I would have which led me to believe it would be fairly straight forward... This turned out to not be the case for me and quite possibly may have been one of the most long and stressful processes I have ever been through, However I cannot fault Wendy throughout the process, for reasons way beyond her control the purchase of my first home took ALOT longer than expected but true to her word Wendy was constantly keeping me 'in the loop' with what was happening with my purchase. Excellence customer service from both Wendy and Victoria throughout what was a 'tricky' purchase. They were super helpful whenever I had queries for the vendor and were persistence in looking for solutions. Having met Wendy when viewing the house for the first time, I quickly learned that she was really approachable and her genuinely friendly personality shone through which helped make the long process more bearable. After searching for a long time in Newcastle I think I have viewed houses with every estate agent . Hands down Northwood are the best I have used . The people who work there have excelllent local knowledge and really listened to my needs and not only showed me matching propteries but gave me ideas on what was achievable and what others has done to develop similar homes. From start to finish these guys have been nothing less than superb. Personally I find moving home quite a stressful experience with all sorts of bumps and turns on the way! From the get go the team we're attentive and informative with everything I needed. Can't really ask for much more but I feel they really did go the extra distance when taking us through the process making sure we fully understood everything in terms of the agreement, but also making sure this was comfortable for us. Every new home you will find will have teething problems or bits and bobs that need sorting. We first moved into our new home with northwoods a few months ago and the response has been amazing. There were a few things in the property that needed sorting and by no means a small or quick job. After speaking to the team they sorted things in a matter of days with no hassle required whatsoever. Patient and helpful handling of flat with Lease issues

Choosing letting agents is a lottery if there's no guidance available. Luckily we chose well in an area of the Country with which we were not familiar. From the outset Hazel and her team have achieved maximum rentals and few voids in what turned out to be a very difficult area and an adverse letting climate. Whenever there was a problem they rapidly, consistently and professionally deal with it. All of the team we've worked with over the time we've let our two properties with them have been efficient, friendly and, most importantly, on our side. Maintenance issue

I had an ongoing problem with my heating and hot water, which was very frustrating, especially with the weather getting very cold. I had to have multiple contractors out to problem solve and sort the issue on numerous occasions across a number of weeks. Laura Cheetham of Northwood Tyneside was brilliant throughout...she was patient and listened when I was frustrated at the situation, she continually updated me via email and voicemail (even after office hours on a Saturday!), she was tireless in chasing up contractors and arranging visits, liaised efficiently with my landlord to get decisions made quickly, and overall was lovely to talk to through what turned out to be quite a complex issue. I work full-time in a demanding job and Laura ensured everyone worked round this for me. She was also very genuine and I trusted her to move the situation forward as she clearly wanted to help resolve the issue not just as quickly as possible but correctly to avoid future problems. An asset to your company I cannot thank her enough as I sit in my now warm and cosy flat with hot water aplenty.

High level of service with successful purchase

Throughout the process of buying my first home Northwood were very good at helping make things straightforward. Their friendly, service-with-a-smile attitude made them very approachable. The sale nearly fell through as it did drag on, however this was more the fault of the seller than the estate agents, who worked hard to contact him as best they could. A Great Viewing Experience

Wendy was on time and gave us such a friendly greeting. She knew lots about the house and showed us round to begin with before letting us wander about and ask questions. Sold our house for asking price!

Sold our house for asking price! Our situation was that we bought and renovated our home to live in Denton Burn, however, we ended up with an opportunity to move abroad, meaning selling our home was on the cards sooner than we anticipated. However, what we had spent in total was slightly higher than what I could see houses were selling for. Furthermore, the hot topic at the end of 2019 was Brexit, and some mortgage companies and valuers were down-valuing homes after good offers were made, concerned that there would be a price crash. This had caused some "run of the mill" sales to fall through and there were fewer buyers looking than previous years. Two other estate agents told us to advertise either unrealistically higher (risking no viewings coming through the door, or playing a game of price reductions), and far lower (risking selling too quickly, selling ourselves short and losing some of the money we spent on the home). We took advice from Victoria Skoyles who has a good reputation for selling homes in Newcastle. It felt like she was the one who had the natural skill to pull all the intricate details together that had to be factored in during a time of uncertainty and pull off the right result. Knowing this area street by street she acknowledged some points that were different about our home which others had missed, gave us some valuable insights into how the buying market was behaving today, and came up with a price she could justify with a good plan. When we advertised our home with Northwood between Victoria, Andrew and Jayne they took brilliant photographs, organised 9 viewings and to our amazement, within a month they got us three offers! The last being at the actual asking price. If you haven't sold your own house before, there are two main halves to the service (advertising and sales progression), but at each stage there is a lot of communication between you. Your estate agent will get to see the best and worst of you because it is an exciting and stressful moment in your life and it feels like such an uncertain process even when it goes well. At each point of contact this team empathised with, worked around, and completely understood the situation we were in. Once the offer was accepted they didn't just sit back and wait for the solicitors to do their work, the levels of service increased further chasing the buyers's solicitors up, following us up when we hadn't done something etc. We really appreciated one day in particular when Victoria answered us promptly during what appeared to be a week of 12+ hour work days because all of her colleagues were unfortunately ill at the same time in January with this winter's cough/cold/flu bug. She didn't just clock off at 5:30 and leave us hanging - she always did what needed to be done to keep the sale running smoothly and kept us in the updated right away on less urgent matters - that week wouldn't have been easy for her. We can't thank everybody enough including Sara, Michaela, Megan and Inde for the effort and teamwork involved in making sure the sale is completed and we can start our next chapter. Best letting agent and customer service in Newcastle! I have spent approximately 24 months letting two properties from Northwood Newcastle and quite honestly they have provided best customer service and been so kind, attentive and fair to address all my requirements from start to finish! Some of the highlights: - When my first tenancy ended due to my current landlord wanting to sell their property, they found me an excellent property in the same building and helped coordinate the moving and contract dates between both properties! I can't thank Michaela enough for her help with this. - Rebecca was outstanding throughout with her customer service. She helped to address all my maintenance requirements but also liaised with the landlord with regards to additional furniture which wasn't in the property and a new mattress! She even helped me purchase a TV from the previous tenant and helped with the payment. - Northwood was a very fair and reasonable to regards to their expectations of tenants maintaining their property - they gave regular feedback regarding their interim property inspections and never failed to arrange deposit return in a timely manner. Thanks again Rebecca! My final message is that if you want to rent a property in the Newcastle area go for Northwood for the best overall experience from start to finish!

Fantastic team, fantastic agent.

I was moving to Newcastle from Dublin and had been dealing with a few agents along the road of renting the property. Initially I was dealing with Rebecca, who then passed me to Michaela and finally to Julia for the final steps. Because I was in Ireland for the whole process, we encountered quite a few hurdles. I hadn't received my National insurance number, the transfer of funds from euro to gbp proved trickier than expected and I managed to lose my passport for the bulk of the process too so to say it could have been stressful would have been an understatement. The team at Northwood were incredible though and cured each hiccup as it arose. The process was ironed out to the best of their abilities and they did everything in their power to help me. I have now moved in and couldn't be happier with my property. Other agents at various companies had given up on my applications before they had even began, due to the difficulty in finding a property to suit my needs and for the implications which would have arose throughout the process. The team are second to none here at Northwood and I hope I get to deal with them for any moves in the future, hopefully not too soon though!
