After experiencing homelessness for seven months, being given the opportunity to make this flat my home has meant far more to me than simply receiving a set of keys. During those months I experienced instability, uncertainty and at times felt completely unheard. I had even been told by the council that they could give me a train ticket to “go back to where I came from.” When you are already struggling, experiences like that can make you feel as though your circumstances matter more than you do as a person. My experience with Northwood was completely different. From the first time I met Claire Dalziel, she listened to my situation without judgement or discrimination. I felt seen, understood and treated with dignity. She recognised that people experiencing housing difficulties sometimes just need someone willing to look beyond their circumstances, listen to them properly and give them an opportunity once the necessary checks have been completed. I am incredibly grateful that Northwood gave me that opportunity. Fatimah has also been wonderful. She came to see how I was settling into the property, and today's inspection gave me another opportunity to reflect on just how much has changed. When I first received the keys, this was simply an empty flat. I have slowly turned it into my home, painting, decorating, creating peaceful spaces and putting stability and structure back into my life. After seven months without a home, Northwood didn't just provide me with somewhere to live. They gave me safety, stability and the opportunity to rebuild. The photographs show only a small part of that transformation, but to me they represent something much bigger: what can happen when somebody is given a genuine opportunity and treated like a human being. Thank you Claire, Fatimah and Northwood Newcastle for seeing the person behind the circumstances and giving me the space to grow, rebuild and shine. I will never forget what that opportunity has meant to me.

Madly unorganised and poor communication. We booked a viewing using their auto booker and it's rubbish. I was stood outside in the cold waiting for someone to arrive for a house viewing. I called the office and was brushed off with a "he'll be 20 minutes he's running late" without even asking me about what property it was. Then I ring back 20 minutes later, someone more helpful answers but they say that the booking was for the same date next month! Then we find out that the auto booker had rearranged our appointment without telling us. There was little attempt to help fix the mistake, again palmed over to the auto booker which never has any available slots no matter what time I check. I missed out on a dream property due to incompetence.

What a fantastic estate agent! I cannot fault anything. Leanne and her team were absolutely incredible! I had the sad task of selling my mother’s house following her death so clearly quite an emotional time. However I did not need to worry because Leanne and Olivia guided me through the whole process from start to finish. I had no stress, they couldn’t have helped me more. I would highly recommend Northwood Estate Agents. During probate, we were advised to market my mam’s house with two estate agents, and I’m so pleased that it was Northwood who achieved the sale. I had a house to either sell / rent out / auction, I really didn't know what to do so I called Northwood just asking for advice. Leanne came to see me at the property and advised me about all the different options. After about a week I received an email from Leanne asking if I'd had any thoughts and if they could be of any more help. This was probably the gentle nudge I needed to start to get things moving so after accepting a fixed price for the sale with Northwood Leanne started on the marketing. It wasn't long before offers came in and if Leanne was out of the office Olivia was always there ready to help and keep me up to speed. The house was sold at the asking price and everything went through very smoothly. I Cant rate Northwood highly enough, from start to finish they have been great. Whether that be conducting viewings with potential buyers or answering the many questions I had on a daily basis, they provided a top class service from start to finish. I was always kept up to date with what was going on, after every viewing they would be in touch to give me honest feedback on how they thought the viewing went, did a great job of setting up our house in prep for the photos they took to market the house.
