Had viewings with both Amy and Harrison, both of whom were very knowledgable, friendly and really helpful in helping me find the right place. Amy's initial advice to take a walk around the town is the reason I ended up falling in love with Newbury and kept looking until I found the right place. Amy has been super helpful since in sorting out the admin, fingers crossed nothing goes wrong and I'll have my first flat later this year! We sold our house with Chancellors after having it on the market for about 18 weeks, but only after dropping £50,000 from the original price that they were 'sure' it would sell for, so deserves stars for selling and somewhat quickly at that. We were nearing the end of our contracted time with Chancellors and were going to sell with another estate agent, but right at the end we got a buyer for the (3 times reduced) asking price. In general though I was a little disappointed with the service. Minimal effort went in to the advertisement and it felt like once we signed up to sell with them that their enthusiasm reduced significantly. That being said, everyone was very polite and responsive when I phoned and asked them to be a bit more proactive with the advert. In summary, were chancellors great? Not really, but I wouldn't exactly discourage anyone from using them, just manage your expectations.

I have had dealings with Chancellors in Newbury, for over 5 years, in particular with Tom Shellard. I am a landlord having few rental properties and It has been a delight working with Tom, every time. Tom has really gone above, and beyond at every stage, and he is always so patient and happy to help. He has made the process as painless as possible for me, and in fact it has been enjoyable! Everything has run incredibly smoothly thanks to his hard work, brilliant communication, and positive attitude. There’s a real “can do” attitude that exists in the whole Tom’s lettings team.
