GoogleThe team at Carter Jonas were excellent during the purchase of the property we were buying through them. It was made more complicated due to lockdown but they were very proactive, helpful and responsive throughout the whole process. I have no doubt the move would not have happened without their support, suggestions and flexibility. If ever we need an estate agent they will be our first port of call. GoogleWorst letting estate agent experience ever We have rented neumerous houses in the past, but we have never had to deal with such an unpleasant estate agent as Carter Jonas at Newbury branch and landlord who was represented by this agent. We rented 19 Shepherds Mount in Compton through them for over a year. We were extremelly unhappy with the letting agent, with their unprofessional and very rude attitude. At the end we had to take a legal advice how to continue dealing with the estate agent and also had to get their head office involved in dispute. Numerous times they accused us of damage caused to the property and asking us to repair which then proved to be not true. I would definatelly NOT RECOMEND them to anybody. We are now renting a lovely house, bigger and better for less money and without having to deal with in my opinion the worst estate agent in the UK - Carter Jonas Newbury.

GoogleWe were involved with this company as perspective tenants. When we called to view a particular property we had to wait 4 days to see it. DH saw it on his own and really liked it and so I went the next day. We had some concerns over safety as we have small children -open ponds, narrow pathways round the house with at least a 2ft drop onto concrete and a balcony where the spindles had rotted through. The agent didn't seem to know much -is there a septic tank, do the fires work?? Our questions and concerns needed to be addressed to the owner and we waited a day for a response. We replied with an offer and waited almost two days. When we called up, we found that the agent had gone on holiday and no one picked up her e-mails and they let the house out from under us!! Even though we'd seen it twice and were negotiating on the things we wanted sorted they didn't even call to let us know there was another interested party! Shoddy, underhand, disorganised and their fees most certainly are not justified. If you're a landlord, beware how off putting they are to prospective tenants. Tenants -don't expect to be treated fairly.

Google(November 17) had a tenant leave. Carter Jonas have been VERY helpful and co operative in finding a new tenant. Although it has been over Christmas, CJ have found a new tenant and today (12th Jan 18) they took possession. The whole process was simplified, by CJ explaing what is required of Landlord, and assisting in suggesting suitable contractors for works required. All in all, I will be continuing to use CJ and have and will recommend CJ. The three persons involved, and I hope continue to be involved in the future, were, in no particular order, Monika, Catherine and Sarah. Very helpful and welcoming every time I contacted them. Either in the Office, email or telephone.

GoogleMyself and my sister were recently in the position of having too sell our elderly Uncles house in order to fund his residential care. Not living in the Newbury area ourselves, we took care to meet and assess the main agents selling property in the area, knowing we needed someone who was professional, trustworthy and most of all that we could work with. I am glad to say that ,Andrew Maddock, from the Newbury, Carter Jonas office proved to possess all those qualities and more. We were very happy with the outcome of the sale and enjoyed our time dealing with Andrew.. Many thanks to all those involved.

GoogleMy boyfriend and I have just rented our first flat together through Carter Jonas. They are one of the best estate agents I have ever come across. They are friendly and helpful, they always respond quickly and the whole process of renting (references, contracts etc) is very efficient and can all be done online easily. We are very happy with their service so far and hope to deal with them when we one day buy a house!

Having agreed on the asking price we never came under any pressure to reduce it when the market went quiet. Sticking to our guns we achieved the price we wanted. GoogleOnce the contract has been signed they couldn't care less about you. One week, five emails and still no reply. I even offered to resolve the problem myself..... Very disappointing

GoogleOur experience in dealing with Carter Jonas was very good. They were extremely responsive and always kept us updated. It felt like they were really working with us to get our purchase completed even when our buyer pulled out. Even on completion day they were proactively chasing people to get confirmation for us when things appeared to be going very slowly. Overall highly recommended.

GoogleI have rented two properties through Carter Jonas now and I have to say they are the most efficient Agent I have used to date. They are efficient and professional. And quite uniquely their ongoing property management is well run with Jessica Chalmers always on hand to help with her friendly and knowledgeable demeanor you know you are well looked after.
