Proactive and Upbeat Service from Agent

Although I didn't end up choosing a property with Martyn Gerrard, the agent assigned to my search, Shivali, was very proactive and forthcoming with new flats coming onto the market that might be of interest to me. Most other agents I dealt with from other estate agents were not as attentive. I wish all agents were as enthusiastic, patient, and helpful as Shivali was in aiding my search.

We recently sold our property through Martyn Gerrard and Chris was absolutely outstanding from start to finish. We had previously listed with another well-known local agent who failed to generate any offers over the course of two months. Chris took over and, within just two weeks, had secured multiple offers, a real testament to his market knowledge, strategy, and proactivity. The sale itself proved to be challenging due to delays and complications caused by the buyer’s solicitor, whose approach was frustratingly slow and obstructive at times. Throughout it all, Chris remained calm, responsive, and totally on top of the process. He regularly chased all parties, kept communication flowing, and played a key role in making sure the transaction finally completed. We’re incredibly grateful for his professionalism, persistence, and support, and we’d highly recommend him to anyone looking to sell in the area.

As a result to the renters rights bill, the process of letting and renting has become even more uncertain and leaves room for misinterpretations. I’m so glad I found Umit at MG. He listened carefully to our needs and what we were looking for in a property, including the precise location/ area we were dreaming of moving to. He contacted me about a property that was off the market due to a breakdown in the buyers chain. It was just what we were wanting and hoping to find after many a month searching, and we now have our dream home thanks to him! 19/03/2025 - I'm now amending the below review which was 5 stars - it's a shame I can't give ZERO stars. Everything was great with Martyn Gerrard Muswell Hill, until they got my money & we moved in. When my young daughter and I got to the place it was filthy dirty (it was like a Flash cleaning add taking pictures of the 'before' and 'after'), it was full of other people's stuff (including someone's medical report about their abortion), things we'd flagged to be repaired or removed weren't or hadn't been, and we were given broken keys that didn't work (then told we clearly didn't know how to use keys!) It got progressively worse over the next week with the property management team responding to my complaints suggesting I just use a different key on broken windows and if I kept trying they were sure I'd 'get there' on broken radiators right before totally ghosting me. I ended up escalating it to the company chairman which meant that someone finally got back to me but 3 weeks after moving in NONE of the things that we flagged as broken or not working have been fixed. Considering how quick they were to take my deposit and ensure I paid the first month's rent 6 weeks in advance it's disgusting how useless they've been. I'm sure they'll be great at taking my rent next week though right? They call themselves a family focused business but clearly they mean their own families because they do not care at all about their tenant families. Avoid at all costs. -----------------------------Original review---------------------------------------- I absolutely can't speak highly enough of Max Greenwood at Martyn Gerrard in Muswell Hill. He was so helpful, walked me through their process and supported us in securing the flat we wanted. In 15 years of renting I've had some terrible experiences with estate agents but Max was so brilliant and honest the whole process was the easiest I've ever had!
