I dreaded moving. What did we have to do in order to make the sale? There were forms to complete and legal jargon to comprehend, evidence to supply and worries to control, compounded by despairing the lack of feedback from the solicitor when things didn't seem to be straightforward. I was utterly out of my depth. Enter Darlows. I voiced my concerns to Darlows from the onset of the process and was immediately reassured that they would be with me "All the way". This may seem flippant, but allow me to relate the details of the service provided by Sarah Elliot at Darlows, Merthyr Tydfil. Sarah explained every form and request from the solicitor, even photocopying evidence on our behalf for the immediate attention of the solicitor. When I was concerned, Sarah always made time for me, giving the impression that our satisfaction with the transaction mattered to her. Not only so, but Sarah personally followed up the situation with the solicitor. My wife and I felt that we could trust Sarah, and I believe that says much in this day and age. To say that Darlows, in particular Sarah Elliot, provided a professional and friendly service would, to my mind, be an understatement. We can only thank them for all that did for us. I don't normally find myself leaving reviews and this is my second one in as many days. I could not leave my AMAZING experience go unnoticed. I personally want to say a massive thank you to Louise Pinch of Darlows Merthyr. I recently contacted her to help with my search for a property and her service has been exceptional. I was over the moon when she found a property that tick all the boxes for my family and within budget. Once my offer was accepted on the property Louise made me an in branch appointment with Jarrad Combellack of Just Mortgages ( hence first review, he's first class) who supported me to get the best mortgage and insurance deals to suit my circumstances. Louise was both professional and approachable and made me feel like nothing was to much for her to put my mind at ease while making one of the biggest decisions of my life. I feel Louise has gone above and beyond throughout the whole process. She was always at the end of the phone/email and her calming and reassuring nature has unbelievably helped me. I cannot stress how supported I feel by what I would describe as my very own 'Dream Team' who have certainly aided my dream to become reality. I feel the branch is a One Stop Shop. They have everything I needed under one roof e.g. property search/ negotiation, mortgage, insurance & solicitors. I would 100% recommend Darlows. I can't thank you enough Louise. Your a credit to Darlows.

Absolutely fantastic service with Sarah Elliot in a hunt to find our perfect family home. Sarah's professionalism, knowledge and client centred care were exceptional. Viewing several properties over the previous few weeks nothing has been too much for Sarah, arranging viewings to suit my husbands difficult working pattern. Always keeping us up to date and answering any queries that we have. Finally having an offer accepted, she went above and beyond to negotiate the best price for us (and the sellers too). Couldn't ask for better estate agents! Put my house on the market on Saturday afternoon and by Tuesday 11am it was sold. Sarah was absolutely fantastic and anything I asked was never too much trouble for her, she would always return my calls as quickly as she could and made sure that everything from the buyers side was ready to go in line with my timescale (which was pretty tight!). Louise was also fantastic and couldn't help enough when Sarah was out of the office. Cannot recommend enough!

Appealing behaviour. Signed up approx 4 weeks ago to move into a larger rented property due to my partner being 5 months pregnant. Obviously with everything going on with the Coronavirus and my partner now 6 months pregnant I contacted Darlows to ask if possible we could delay the move because there is absolutely no way I can move the entire contents of 1 house out to another house alone..not only that I could not find a van rental company and even if I did I would be putting my pregnant other half at serious risk.I spoke to Darlows - won’t name names, told them of my issues and straight away the conversation was “ absolutely no chance can we delay the move... either bring it forward or keep to the date agreed” I said to the person on the phone that surely is the landlords decision and not yours and would appreciate it if you could call them to explain ... I may we’ll be a cynical person but I have had absolutely no faith that that conversation between Darlows and the landlord even happened.We had a call back - eventually , and that we was told the landlord said no we need to stick with the date and that if we do not move we will lose the fee’s we have currently paid ( even though we never once brought up the fees this was clearly used as a very poor tactic to try to keep the house move on the scheduled date )Again we explained and again we got told the same - NOI rang a guy in head office the next day who after explaining things to him said himself that he totally understood our situation and wouldn’t expect us to move either ( feel free to listen to the phone conversation) - he arranged a call back from the Lettings manager who called me back - conversation went the same - he said he would ask but Darlows was the middle man in all this and it’s totally out of their hands ( obviously)After another call we agreed to knock it all on the head - cancel the move and stay put because with the entire world at a standstill at very dangerous times , plus the fact it was totally impossible for the move to happen , we found it totally impossible for it to happen without putting the family at risk .The reason for this review today is largely down to a gutless email we received. Not a phone call, but an email stating that we will lose the £132 fee we have put down. How is it you justify keeping hold of this fee? What has this fee gone towards?The entire country is in lockdown, and with wages every penny counts, especially a family of 4 during these times and you won’t bother to refund us the fee’s - so I’m guessing you contacted a director like you said and it was he/she who said no to this request? Shame on you.

Darlows Pontypridd - Great Team

Diane and the team in the Pontypridd branch were great when dealing with 2 properties I was selling at the same time. I dealt with both Gayle and on occasion Courtney both of whom were great. Always returning calls and keeping me informed during the selling process. Diane was particularly active in one of the sales due to the buyer and his solicitor dragging their feet as it was a development property. Thanks to Diane's tenacity we finally got over the line. Great job from the team and I highly recommend them.

Contacted Nicole mid week as I had a buy to let purchase was completing on the Friday, Nicole had viewings arranged for the following Monday, by close of business Monday Nicole rang me to confirm she had a tenant very interested in the property and ready to go if I was happy :) needless to say I was, Nicole kept me up to date through out, did all the work for me and made it super easy for me, something that I needed due to being busy myself someone to pick it up and make it seamless for me and my tenant, and thats what Nicole did. We recently dealt with Claire Lea at the Darlows Caerphilly office, they were the last estate agent to come to our home and we almost cancelled the appointment as we had already made our decision to go with someone else, Claire Lea came in and changed our minds with ease, she gave off such good profession and confidence with no pressure at all.Before she even got back to the office we called up and decided to go with Darlows - yes they cost more, but after dealing with them we now know why.Claire was always actively working on getting our house out there and sold and we were updated daily by either Claire or a colleague - 14 days later we had an offer we were happy with and accepted! Thanks to Claire and Darlows Caerphilly we will now be receiving more money from the sale of our property than we would have if we had gone with any other agent even thought their fees were cheaper than Darlows. We couldn't be happier with the w Claire and Darlows handled our house sale and we would happily use them again and will always recommend their services, Claire in particular.Thank Darlows.
