I would have rated them higher as they were probably the best estate agents that I've ever dealt with, however there were two issues I have when dealing with them- one was situationtional, however, one may affect other renters. Ensure that you check the contract properly. It is illegal for landlords/ estate agents to enforce a cleaning fee as of 2019 (I believe that is the right year). I didn't know that until after we spent £300 on cleaning. Also, standard practice, but take pictures of the rented property before and after you leave. the people they use for inventory are liars. Despite the check out clerk saying that he didn't need to see our cleaning receipt as he could tell that everything had been professionally cleaned, he then dragged us in the checking out document that it wasn't cleaned and literally picked up on minor pieces of dirt- THAT HE DRAGGED IN ON HIS SHOES! Romans then wante us to pay over £400 cleaning for a 1 bedroom flat (this was months after we moved out and the new tennants had already moved in btw), and we literally had to argue and show case our evidence for them to drop it! The insulting thing about this scenario. The flat was dirty when we moved in, why does Romans allows for landlords to take advantage of this? Clearly a bit of s shady practice.

I gave them a 5 star review when they helped us find a very nice apartment. But I have to update the review because it didn't go as planned: Very easy to move into a lovely apartment but after 2 years when we had problems they let us down hugely. Our property manager didn't help us when we had a massive leak upstairs and it got to the point where we ended up without electricity due to the leak coming through the wiring in the ceiling and becoming a real hazard. Please note that we are a family of 3 and at the time our daughter was 2 years old. We had to move within a week because there were no lights and no heat in November! Such bad communication at the end.. really disappointed

My property is being managed by Jack Cracknell from Romans for the last 4 months and it has been a great service from him so far. He is very patient and of great support. He is very quick in his responses and has provided emergency workarounds for some of the critical issues we faced related to the tenancy and managed to get those resolved in quick time. He carefully listens to all the concerns about the property and strives hard to get those addressed with the landlord before it creates adverse situation for the tenant. I am really happy with his service and highly recommend him for his service.

In recently pursuing a property in Maidenhead, James was the vendor's estate agent. It was a pleasure to liaise with him. When showing me around the house, he was able to answer all questions instantly. In email correspondence his responses to any further queries were quick and thorough. When I requested a second viewing and it had to be cancelled, he informed me promptly and apologised even though it was due to circumstances outside of his control. I've been looking a while and James has been the best agent I've dealt with so far.

Very unprofessional letting agency. They don't even bother to send you any update after you place an offer on property. Physical viewing numbers are already very limited and they don't even bother to give a call to people on how the rent property offer went. There are lots of other letting agencies around this area with much professional and kind mannered staffs. Definitely recommend using others over Romans.

Jamie Cane & Charlie Walker were such a great help in us finding our first home in Maidenhead. The numerous properties we viewed with Jamie until we found our house felt endless and never ending but Jamie kept us up to date with new properties every couple of days and was always willing to accommodate us with evening and weekend visits to properties.
