I purchased a house through Sargeants just as the first lock down was lifted this year. Jack was the agent I communicated with throughout the purchase and he was very helpful, especially when I needed to arrange a survey and when i wanted builders to come and quote for work at the property. The process of buying through them was as easy as it could be. I would certainly sell a property through them in the future. Well done and thank you Sargeants

TrustpilotAny experience I hope never to have to relive again
Being an estate agent isn't easy and having done it for nearly 5 years I completely empathise with their job. When we chose Sargeants it was on their branding and properties sold within our immediate area. Dean came around and gave us his pitch and price range, which with all agents tends to be within 15% from lowest to highest. He negotiated his fee, and we were happy and went ahead with listing our property with him and his team.Amy seemed to take the lead and got us an offer well over where we were recommended to put our property on the market, lucky we had experience in property and the area. Our offer was based on us extending our lease, which was acceptable and we proceeded. Amy then became utterly useless, stating we were ready to exchange after 2 weeks, and upon checking with our solicitors our lease pack hadn't even been sent. Amy then left (to our fortune) and Dean took over, but the damage had already been done with all the miscommunication with the buyers (who had only purchased overseas) which caused a great deal of confusion, it eventually led to our buyers pulling out, with the market beginning to go into a downturn. This then caused another issue with us having to drop our price and accept an offer £20k-£25k lower than originally listed for. This was acceptable as we had to move but as I believe Amy caused the hold-up, I asked Dean to help us with the Fees as we had lost £20k but his fee dropped my mear hundreds of pounds... I was compensated £200.The only saving grace in all of this nightmare, and it wasn't short of that, was Amy and Soraya who were empathetic and proactive, these two are gems in the property market and I wish others would take a leaf from their book.I would be dubious about appointing Sargeants and make sure you serve your notice on day 1 to give you the chance to get out of your contract when it ends and not have to wait another 4 weeks to make a change.

We appreciate your feedback and I'm glad you found the experience with Hayley, Soraya and your second buyer much better and more importantly your move was successful. Having personally overseen both transactions and reviewed them with you, it's important to note that as agents we can only pass on information that's given to us when it comes to conveyancing and that was ultimately the downfall in the first transaction as it caused some miscommunication (which we've now addressed with additional training for the sales team) but I genuinely believe the buyer just had a change of heart in what was to become a difficult market. As your agent we increased our marketing spend to find you another buyer quickly which we did and the final price achieved is a record breaker for your road and the surrounding area. I also did what I could regarding a reduction in our fee as a gesture of good will which you accepted. We will take all of your comments on board and the team and I wish you all the best with future endeavours. Best regards Dean

We bought a house through Sargeants in December 2019. We dealt with Patricia who was always friendly and professional. Our offer was accepted quickly and our expectations With regards to the process of the purchase were managed from the outset. Patricia frequently liaised with ourselves and the sellers ensuring that we were updated at all times. This was particularly helpful as our purchase fell over the festive period. We had actually been trying to buy our first home for many months but had had several transactions fall through. In our experience Patricia and Sargeants were by far the most efficient and honest agents that we had dealt with and we would recommend to any other buyers.

Excellent service, not pushy at all, always there to help and the whole team are fantastic. Dean is very good and you can tell his ethos carries through the company. Graham looked after us throughout our sale. Graham was amazing, nothing is a problem and he is patient and understanding which is important through the stressful period of moving, selling and buying your home. So far i have been very happy with the very professional and efficient way that Sargents have dealt with me. Recently they have replaced the worn out carpets with new lino and carpets and they have also removed all the polystyrene ceiling tiles and refurbished the ceilings.They have always dealt with any repairs that needed doing promptly . The property manager (Andrea ) has been outstanding in dealing with our tenancy compared with the way I had been treated by the previous property mangement company i have been with. I will recommend Sargents as a good company to rent with.

Our experience with Sargeants so far has been fantastic. Having dealt with multiple larger property management companies over the years as tenants, we almost expect to have to chase and pester in order to get anything arranged, but our property manager Andrea is always very responsive and proactive about resolving any issues we have. It's a refreshing change to send off an email and know that we'll get a reply (and a friendly one at that) and subsequent action as soon as she's reviewed it. You are noticeably different to your larger competitors... in a very positive way.

We just purchased our first home with Sargeants and we couldn't have made a better choice. Claire was very professional and really connected with us, and she completely understood what type of place we were looking for. As a result, she got in touch as soon as she got the keys to the place she pictured us living in. Claire and Sargeants were there for us during every step of the process, recommended solicitors and a mortgage advisor and made the whole experience completely stress-free. We can't recommend Sargeants enough, and we will certainly be using them in the future should we decide to sell our property at some point.

Excellent service from Imogen at Sargeants. During some lengthy toing and froing between us (buyers), the sellers and both solicitors, Imogen was constantly on the ball and was happy to help out in any way she could. She was there to connect all the dots (so many dots!) with her calm, trustworthy and pragmatic approach. Whilst the process of buying a home is not an experience I'd like to repeat anytime soon, when the time comes, Sargeants will be at the top of the list.
