A fairly smooth process, where Phil Coombes was really helpful and accommodating in ensuring I had all the information necessary, prior to exchange. I visited the property several times before exchange in order to obtain quotes, and Phil went above and beyond to ensure this happened. Very pleased with the service.

We are in the middle of the process. They are highly disorganised, seem short-staffed, are extremely incommunicative, and border on incompetence. We are shocked, as we had thought they were hyper-professional when signing them on. All we get is constant pressure to accept unreasonable demands from the other party instead of the agent managing them appropriately. Worry that the deal is likely to fall through if this continues.

Reasonably mixed experience purchasing our property through H&G. Started very well indeed, but had a few issues being gazumped by another interested party at the last minute, which led to a significant jump in price. The sales negotiator also left mid-way through which we weren't notified of until a week before the completion, when we were asked to compete several weeks earlier than was requested and accepted by the vendor. We appreciate that the agent works on behalf of the vendor, but it's a shame the experience was as mixed as it was as we would have explored using them in the future, should it have been more positive.

On the 21st of June, I received a call from Horton & Garton confirming two viewings ( Alexandra House and Shepherd Bush) scheduled for the upcoming Saturday at 12pm. They assured me that they would send a confirmation email with all the necessary details. Excited about the potential properties, I rearranged my plans and made arrangements to come to Hammersmith. However, on the day of the viewings, I decided to double-check with the agent to confirm the viewing times and addresses. To my dismay, the agent informed me that no one had signed me in yet. I was taken aback by this news, as I had specifically received a call to confirm the appointments and had rearranged my schedule accordingly. What frustrated me the most was the lack of responsibility and accountability from the agent. Not only did they fail to follow through with their promise of sending a confirmation email, but they also showed no remorse for the inconvenience caused. It was disappointing to realize that no one had taken the initiative to ensure that my appointments were properly scheduled. As a prospective buyer, I expected a higher level of professionalism and organization from the agent. This experience left me feeling disregarded and disrespected. It is essential for agents to understand the impact their actions, or lack thereof, can have on individuals who invest their time and effort in property hunting. In the future, I hope Horton & Garton improves their communication protocols and ensures that all appointments are diligently recorded and confirmed. Professionalism and responsibility should be the cornerstone of any customer-oriented service, and this experience fell short of those expectations.

In terms of sales, Horton & Garton know their patch very well and were able to obtain offers on our house for the asking price within days - twice, in fact, as the first buyer fell through. We also asked them to help us find a smaller house in the area, and they took a lot of time to understand our requirements. Ultimately, we decided not to go ahead but that was more to do with housing stock on the market than Horton & Garton. We were impressed by the personal service this local independent agency offered and the way they were always available for advice generally.
