Sneaky and Greedy

This company is operated mainly by telephone which means that they don't provide evidence in email form when they make false promises. Things take months to fix or go to the whole tennany without being fixed and then they'll try to charge you for them. They make promises to new tenants which they don't keep. Tried to charge us for repairs the new tenants are paid for. Terrible company greedy sneaky raise the rent by £1000 when we should've had the option to extend at the current rate.

Charlotte, the manager I worked with, was super nice and come up with very good apartments both in terms of price and location. Although we did not end up renting the apartment in the Barbican through Frank Harris (through no fault of their own), we would not hesitate to recommend their services if you are looking to rent in the area. Right from the beginning they were a pleasure to deal with and their local knowledge is unrivalled. The agent we dealt with - Mitchell Max, was beyond outstanding - he is real asset to Frank Harris and was head and shoulders the best of a multitude of agents from the very many agencies we have dealt with in our long search for the perfect London apartment. Mitchell has a genuine passion and enthusiasm for his craft generally and the Barbican specifically. We learned more about the Barbican and surrounding area in our viewings with him than we ever could researching on the web. He worked really hard on our behalf, and we're so sorry it didn't work out! Before we rented the property, we specifically checked with the agency if early termination would be allowed, because we knew that we might have to relocate to another country for work. The agent, Mitchell Max told us that we would be able to, subject to paying relevant fees, eg the cost of doing reference checks on a new tenant. We were reassured and signed the tenancy agreement. However, when our relocation was confirmed and we tried to terminate early, the agent now claims that we have to pay the entire rent for the full duration, which is almost 5000 pounds! We thought that this was a good agency and everything was going well with the rental, but now we feel extremely cheated. Beware!

Unprofessional service - they ask for your card details upfront

Very friendly and helpful staff, but a key warning to customers that I think they need to correct - if you are leasing an apartment, they ask for all your card details up front to make a holding deposit before you can make an offer - I think this is very unprofessional and also unsafe. All other real estate agents I've been in contact with in the past when renting a flat give you their account so you can directly transfer money to their account, the usual way. Posting this so people are aware and don't accidentally disclose their card details.
