In short: painful and traumatic. House was in an absolute STATE when moving in, food remnants in fridge and freezer, dust and dirt everywhere, broken toilet before we even got there, mould throughout the house and windows that couldn’t be locked. We were abroad and couldn’t visit anywhere due to Covid. We had Scott to deal with, who left messages on read and just ignored us during putting through the application for places or after taking payments. Additionally, like the others, he never did what he said. ‘I’ll call you later’ when we called then didn’t hear anything until we had to keep on pestering them. We should’ve seen these red flags and run. The landlord was just gone, and left with no help from the letting agents. Broken toilet upon moving in, with rags and ear buds around the base of the toilet to soak up the leak. How did Felicity not spot this? This toilet was not fixed for over a month, it was the only toilet in the house shared by 4 adults. Had mould and rising damp which to Felicity’s credit, they sent out a surveyor promptly. Though the landlord once again was not reachable. Had to leave ASAP, thank GOD for the break clause. Surveyor spoke about the need to completely rip out the kitchen, build a new one and re do the garden. Rebecca, who I now believe was fired, never kept her word. She always said she’d get back to us and never did. She just didn’t do anything for us most of the time, she was “busy” and forgot to answer her emails. Though this seems to have always been the case. When attempting to get the deposit we dealt with Daniel, who gave Rebecca and Scott a run for their money as to. We were never able to speak to him on the phone as he supposedly was never there when we called, was told he’d email. Though he never did. After calling to try and complain the lady on the phone said the Manager wasn’t available to take the call and would call me back, it never happened. Again, spoke to someone else a few days later to complain who said Daniel was on annual leave, but she would forward on my message to the manager, only for me to have a lengthy email exchange later that day, on his supposed holiday. Likely the lady tried to save his back. But again another lie was told. After calling about 2.5 months after leaving the property again, I was told that Shanika would be taking over from Daniel. To her credit, she wasn’t bad, she was new so can forgive her forgetting to chase some things up. But she never sent us a list of disputes from the landlord. I understand with the landlord just not responding, there wasn’t too much she could’ve done apart from relaying what the dispute was. She said the list was too long to say over the phone, but didn’t send an email. We are being charged for another weeks rent after we left the property for some reason. We are also being charged for missing items, which we can locate though the landlord seems to not be interested as she would rather have the money obviously and keep the items. I’d go with them as opposed to sleeping on the streets. But I wouldn’t trust them to do anything. With no communication, with all the lies, with the problems with the House and the lack of responsibility from the letting agency to take care of a property that they are managing. I could go on, but life is too short to spend another second thinking about this negligent company.
