After using Castle to sell a property, buy another property and then have them manage it for over 15 years I consider myself a long term client. I would not recommend Castle as a management company for your rental investment, especially if you live overseas and rely on them to be the eyes and ears and communicate with you. They failed to provide regular property reports . Mail would also suggest that the property was ether sublet or that they were not aware of who was living there. I came back expecting to redecorate , replace laminate floors and a roof deck and maybe some furniture and appliances but I have needed to spend thousands of pounds to get the house ready for new renters. Window frames were so rotted they needed replacing, the toilet was smashed, kitchen sink had an ongoing leak and had rotted and warped the counter beyond repair, the bathroom floor had rotted away in the corner, walls in such poor condition that the plaster was showing, bathroom was mouldy, extractor fans were broken, exterior woodwork is rotted, the loft was filled with trash and shrubs are extremely overgrown. The place was a filth pit: mould, grime, broken furniture, thick limescale, oil dripping from kitchen racks, cracked tiles, and smashed kitchen wall. Broken stove top, freezer & fridge with broken seals. The list is endless and not reflected in their check out report. My spend included hundreds to remove trash, hundreds to remediate overgrown shrub, thousands to replace rotten windows and kitchen counter, & plumbers bills, contractor & plasters bills . All this on top of the expected work. Castle then took the easy way out and advised me that the previous tenants would pay less than 200 pounds from their deposit. I actually think this is fair to the tennant as I can not believe that Castle Residential actually rented a property in such a poor condition to humans. Castle got away with turning my property into a slum, & charged me 130 to take pictures of their failure to look after my property and call it a inventory report. I had informed them that I would be putting it back on the rental market by September. They have not been in contact since I returned.

Terrible experience, they showed us a place and we gave offer of the asking price, then tried to trick us on raising the price by saying someone else has also placed and offer. As we refused they said the landlord did not accept our offer but see the same place ad online again in even lower price that we offered.
